I loved the relationship they had together, he took no crap from her but in a fun way. He would remix oldies with respect and understood fans would love to hear them. Was it not Confessions where he tried so hard to get her to sing Rain and she wouldn't. One of the best things he did though was Erotica/You Thrill Me. I'd never heard that song before and just fell in love with it.
I always love the interaction in DWT near the end of Music when she goes up to him as he is playing.

True! So sad she replaced Stuart Price for Kevin Antunes for the Sticky and Sweet Tour. From that tour on, live versions just seemed not live at all. Remember going to MDNA Tour and it felt like listening to the Immaculate Collection (Vogue, Express Yourself and Like a Prayer). Hung Up was also terrible. Not to mention what was done to Hung Up and the disastrous copy/paste version of Ray of Light for the Sticky and Sweet.
About the show, everyone has the right to have an opinion. Personally I think it is impossible to guess without going to the show or seeing the official recordings, when they are released. I saw SS and MDNA without being enthusiastic of HC and MDNA and loved the show anyway. Since Madame X is in my top 3, this is really the first tour I get to see that will cover one of my favorite albums. Looking forward for sunday in Paris.

About the worst tour ranking, the whole Rebel Heart era for me was a hot mess, including the tour, which I decided to skip seeing live. Did not even manage to see the entire recording. For me it is going to be hart to top that one as worst.

I love that he previewed tracks at clubs for Madonna and he treated her music with love and creativity. How he managed to make songs like Everybody and other classics sound modern versus whomever does her arrangements now. Would love to see The Thin White Duke remixes again for her singles.

To me Rebel Heart was a finished show. Yes, certain elements like the interludes were lazy but there's no way her performance was affected by timing. That show was incredibly well put and the costumes plus make up were really gorgeous. Plus, you could understand every single song's message during the main acts.
Madame X looks a little bit unfinished, where only the Fado section makes total sense  I think what affected Madonna's performance this time is her desire to promote social/cultural/environmental awareness which is a varied topic pretty much in vogue in many, many countries around the world right now. In this show you have:
    - Gun control
    - Current American political scenario
    - Censorship
    - Abortion rights
    - World Music awareness
    - Ageism
    - Amazon fires and destruction of nature
    - LGBTQ rights
Maybe if she had selected more classics to convey the message of the show better, we wouldn't be complaining about the lack of consistency in the show. Well, that's me anyway. I enjoyed the Madame X songs in the end!

That's my perspective on the matter too.
Everyone finds joy in something. You obviously find it in travelling, meeting other fans and attending various shows without the need for material collections . Personally I like a fucking good complain, (why deny it? Ha ha ha ha)...
But what I don't get are the fans who buy 3959 copies of every release in every edition and format, and then start panic selling them on Facebook when tickets are announced because they can't actually afford to see the show.
Why not just put the money aside and see the show you will desperately want to see, instead of splurging out £500 on 15 editions of the same media on various picture discs and out of date cassettes. Probably the same folk who will buy the UK, Taiwanese and Beirut Retro editions of Madame X Live on red VHS.

Signed albums I have a few from artists I adore, but pointless identical releases? No.

BTW: I'm sure you wrote something on here recently about having look after your mother lately, I hope she's doing well.

Invested hard in a career and a business that's enabled me to travel the world every time she's toured since 1993, saved to see lots of shows and sacrificed other things. I don't like to talk about money beyond that.

I never said she should change to please me. Nice made up narrative you got there.
No one in here is saying she should settle down and be with someone her age or that she should work with this or that producer or what she should wear or not...and in no way am i saying what she should do next.
She can do what she pleases.
That said, as a public figure and as a fan i can and have the right to open up this topic and comment on her awful change of behavior from the late 90's to 2020.
I don't need to "step away" because i have an opinion. In fact, the OP isn't a diss at Madonna and it comes from a place of someone that actually cares and doesn't kiss her ass every single time.
It's okay to be a fan of Madonna and still not enjoying every single thing she's doing. Specially with the rough year we're having right now as fans. (unless i also can't comment on that shameless lottery program, going on stage 3 hours late, "is she performing or not? is she canceling 2 hours before showtime or not?" etc).

Well by the sounds of her mood, it seems like the owner of the theatre (Andrew Lloyd Webber) hasn't admonished the theatre staff. They probably were on tender hooks as well when he showed up.
I was surprised by the later start last night as I thought she would have pulled it out bag like the first night as he was in the audience. I was discussing it with one of my friends today who produces/directs theatre productions and she said while she understands this is a Madonna theatre show and not a West End theatre show, even she would be itching to know what the delay was because you're lucky to get 5 minutes past the scheduled start time. Perhaps Andrew Lloyd Webber who must be so used to theatre shows starting on time was perplexed by it. Who knows.
I do have a little bit of empathy for Madonna. As a person, I 9 times out of 10 am constantly running late (usually nights out, but a couple of times for work...) I haven't reached the superior stage though of saying to my boss to shut the fuck up, either I do some work or no work. Would be fab!
I remember talking to one of the general managers at RHT in Glasgow when they put the lights on and implemented curfew and she said that they had given Madonna an extra 40 minute grace period but as the time was approaching midnight and she had just finished Unapologetic Bitch, they had to implement the curfew because she said the fact they had let her run so late on a Sunday night meant they were likely to get a heavy fine. Although I seem to recall it came out afterwards that Glasgow Council were so happy to have someone as huge as Madonna play Glasgow, Scotland that they waived the fine to the arena.

    Exactly.
Ill say it a million times, when she wants to she can really knock if out of the park.
Don’t forget, RIT she either sang fully live, or mimed. There was no singing over backing tracks, it was either a case of moving her mouth to a track or singing Live as a loud clear voice... and she delivered every single time.

I want that Madonna back, and that was probably one of her least physical tours.

The thing is though, that attitude towards fans is vulgar, if she literally said ‘shut the fuck up’. She should be refunding them the difference realistically. If the show is altered because of health issues, there’s absolutely nothing to stop her adding in two or three proper acoustic or stand still songs to make up for the deficit. They’re fully rehearsed and ready to go.  And no, acapella parts of old singles or acapella covers of other people’s songs don’t count as performances LOL

If the first three songs are so detrimental to her health, why not permanently drop them from every show and create space for the aforementioned rehearsed acoustic songs in the Fado section or before Frozen?

Fightong against a curfew and tardiness just isn’t something you expect of a 61 year old woman with a brilliant professional reputation as a punctual performer until relatively recently.

thats my thoughts anyway, I’m sure many will disagree x

Oh that takes me back. That RHT show in Glasgow was the best I've ever seen her. She was so engaging, down to earth, actually funny and no diva attitude.
Although, she did start at around 9.40? So she must have known she was getting cut off because she rushed the fan meet with Unapologetic Bitch and as she exited the stage I could hear her saying something like "I don't care motherf**kers, I am going to come out and sing holiday" and it was a truly unique and amazing moment. However, a Sunday night wasn't the best night to choose to run over curfew.

Notice how on the official video on Facebook of I Rise you can only hear her say ‘COME ON PEOPLE’, but can’t really hear her singing at all. Kinda sums up what Enrico said about most of the music genuinely coming from a tape.
The atmosphere on that video though, wonderful, takes me back to RHT Glasgow which was a terrific night!
and as for Censorship, she really needs to look up what censorship means. She wasn’t censored, the post itself makes it clear the true curfew should be 11pm... if 11.15 is supposed to be the absolute final cut off, the venue probably just got sick of her taking the stage time of the show to the edge every night.

i have a feeling tonight will be the shorter show, and I’m still scouting for a decent seat.

Yeah her acting roles are not the best. I'm sure I read an interview years ago (can't even remember the film) where the director said the problem is that Madonna wants to have control over everything and that is what hinders her performance in films.
Anyway, I would probably say my favourite Madonna movie would have to be Who's That Girl. However, I am going to break the rules Markus and also say that one of my, if not my favourite Madonna video Bad Girl, her acting is outstanding in that video and it is just like watching a mini movie, no doubt due to David Fincher directing it but wow yes. The emotions and reactions she displays in that video are out of this world.

Yes, I would’ve wished for some actual directional efforts to make the spy persona thing stand out and get fleshed out, but as you said, it was nothing beyond an eye patch and and a trench coat, sadly...
