FallingInLove reacted to theglamorous in Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones
It would've been interesting if for each album a respective producer would have been involved for the reissue. Not sure who's stayed friendly though. Pettibone and Orbit might be unlikely.

FallingInLove reacted to New_Boy in MATERIAL GWORLLLL (Saucy Santana and Madonna)
I feel like they just made a mistake? Obviously, your faux-civil post did far more damage than their little quote. Imagine saying, unironically, "I complimented you out of pity"? You're not a victim, you're freaking nasty and insulting. Even worse, you're basic. A walking humorless parody of a stan that only bitches about the good old days, to the misery of everyone who has to experience it. Give it a rest, or better yet, go sob about Madonna's old face or something.

FallingInLove reacted to lap in Which ReIssue Box Set Do You Want First?
Since she'll be in an event with Nile Rodgers in few days, I think she'll announce Like a Virgin reissue, her first landmark album.
Hope it contains: full album + Crazy for you, Gambler and Into the Groove
A remix and demo cd with some early stage of the songs and also Desperately Seeking Susan + Warning Signs (and probably other songs we didn't know).
a DVD or blu-ray with full Virgin tour concert.
If she releases Like a Prayer or The First Album, I would love too. I wish Like a Virgin, Like a Prayer, True Blue and The First Album. Then, any other is ok for me.

Not only compressed. It was a fake 5.1 mix (from Stereo to 5.1). I'm still waiting for a Celebration BD-SD release... Or a New compilation with all her video-clips.

My hopes and expectations for these reissues are like Madonna's ankles, so far apart

FallingInLove reacted to Pretender1978 in Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones
I just really really hope some extra attention is given to all the artwork, I ran across the CAC record day 12" and couldn't get myself to buy it cos it just looks so cheap and nothing compared to all my original 12"es. Someone better dig up those original files and give us sharp images and artwork

FallingInLove reacted to shakeyerdix in Revisiting The Next Best Thing
This film is so so so shitty.
The only M film I saw on cinema and I was so ashamed when I saw it because I was more fan then ever in 1999 but the film was just shit and nothing else. But I'll defend Dangerous game and Swept away that can be saved in her cinema story. Actually the Ferrara movie is the only time she really played something and it's impressive at the end of the way. It's a good movie. She hates because she couldn't control anything and she was overwhelmed but fuck it, the result worth it ! Face it for godsake... In opposition to Body of evidence where she is just bad in her act.
Susan and WTG are important too.
All other movies can be forgotten for me. I adore Evita soundtrack but the movie in himself is absolutely failed, chaotic and uninteresting for me.

FallingInLove reacted to theglamorous in Is Everyone Gay On Here?
I forgot my original point, the Blond Ambition tour and In Bed With Madonna were the first time I saw being gay not as something that was wrong with me. Madonna literally threw herself in front of the homophobia train and rolled with the punches until society stopped fearing and started accepting, that's why I'll always admire her. No other pop star has taken me on such a rollercoaster journey, it saddens me the mess that she's become in recent years but for those informative years of my youth she was there for us gays.

This is an understatement.
I hope for some surprises but to expect everything that has leaked and then some is unrealistic. Half the stuff that has leaked she probably didn’t want anyone to ever hear.

For example, "Like A Prayer" album only need re-EQing one thing, the bass stem. The rest is perfect. Yes, you can change that with the final stereo mix, but that can affect others elements.

FallingInLove reacted to Angelman60 in Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones
I think we are being a bit naive here.
My guess is that the FEL version of holiday is just an edited rip of the album version (hoping they took it from the first 1984 pressing so this is the least tweaked version)
People working with masters is rare. It's so time consuming. So I'm not talking about stems or multitrack. We are fans. But usually, people working on those releases are not. And they would see no point in re doing a mix identical to the original.
10years ago the only serious guy for me was Tom Parker. He did amazing pwl re issues. And he could because he had access to pwl's vaults.
Don't get me wrong, I'm just like you and expect the best from these reissues (instru, demos, unreleased...) but I know people working on this kind of project.

I could hear the harmonious screaming of Madonna fans worldwide just by uttering those two powerful words: Frozen remix.

Any concert from one of her tours remastered and edited in a way that does not give me a headache.

Now you're going to give @Sultrysully even a harder time with this song stuck in his head now. XD

It's slightly worse than Eddie's song, Walking Down the Road

FallingInLove reacted to EgoRod in I literally cannot stop singing Hey You!
Hey You has few issues in the basics to be a pop or interesting song. There's not strong structure nor catchy chorus or bridge.
It hasn't got a build up nor any tension or pause. You can compare to many of the slow hits she has like Live to tell, I want you even Take a bow, they all have a nice backbone and melodic story line.
Hey You is like when everyone is around the bonfire enjoying the sunset and the holistic drunk grabs the guitar and starts some kumbaya to mother earth and feeling blessed. Ruining the evening for everyone that don't want to sing-a-long.
Hey You is Love Makes the world go round sang by Esther.
The message is so full on and trite , it feels like a parody. And the video is pretentious and dated, like something from the 80s.
