  1. For me definitely it is one of his most touching 80s songs and one of my absolute favorites. This is the reason for my nickname. Back in the day I heard the song for the first time in the WTG live version (concert in Turin) and only afterwards the studio recorded version. The live performance in Tokyo was also beautiful (probably the best one). In 1995 I was shocked not to find it included in "Something to Remember"
  2. It was considered the album's first single from the beginning....Read on the backcover of the 7" (...from the forthcoming Madonna Album on Sire Records...)
  3. Definitely Ghosttown...I am not a big fan of Madame X, but I consider God control both as song and video "almost amazing".
  4. It's "normal" in a fan forum. There is no wonder...Try for comparison to access to a "Star Wars" fan forum...the situation is even worst...
  5. Wiki: "By convention, a soundtrack record can contain any kind of music including music "inspired by" but not actually appearing in the movie; the score contains only music by the original film's composers." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soundtrack_album#Extra_tracks I still consider IB a "regular" studio album In any case, a soundtrack is usually a type of studio album. Studio album is a term used for distinguish a record created in a recording studio (with equipment meant to give those overseeing the recording as much control as possible over the sound of the album) from a live album (the common understanding of a "live album" is one that was recorded at a concert with a public audience, even when the recording is overdubbed or multi-tracked).
  6. Some reworkings came out so well that for me they are the “definitive” versions. For instance, I think that "Like a virgin" and "Material girl" are far better than the original album versions. I like also a lot "Lucky star" and "Express yourself", but my favorite is "Papa don't preach" (the original TIC, but also the recent Atmos version is quite interesting for the final alternate vocals). Borderline is an attempt (very good) to recreate the 7" edit even if with some differences. Open your heart and Cherish are ok. The ruined song are surely "Holiday" and "Into the groove" (almost lifted from the YCD 1987 remixes that, however, are far superior). "Like a prayer" was way better in the remixed original dance version. "La isla bonita" was cut abominably...
  7. We all know that the “old tracks” (pre-Justify my love) that make up “The Immaculate collection” have been remixed and/or edited for the Q-sound treatment. Several times there has been discussion in this forum regarding such versions. What do you think is the best remixed/reworked version? Indicate if you want also the worst remixed/reworked version. Below a reminder (the original TIC version, not the Atmos/Spotify chimerical versions).
  8. I consider as "definitive" single versions in IC (I mean..strongly improved if compared with the original single versions): Lucky star, Like a virgin, Material girl and Papa don't preach. Express yourself is also a valid "alternative" version. Ruined songs by IC treatment: Holiday, Crazy for you, Get into the groove, Like a prayer, La isla bonita (terrible fade out), The others (Borderline, Live to tell, Open your heart, Cherish) are ok
  9. I'm Breathless....the never ending story... For me it is a case similar to the nine-tracks "A kind of magic" album of Queen: six tracks are from the movie Highlander and three not. The songs from the movie were even reworked in order to fit better in the record that is widely considered a studio album of the band.
  10. I reordered the book with Amazon and it arrived today. Congratulations for this huge piece of work, a must have for every Madonna fan. I will spend most of Christmas holidays in carefully reading it. Finally a book that deals with Madonna as a singer and musician...
  11. I will try with another seller....Don't worry...
