As far as female singers/musicians go that is true. There were many before her and many that aren’t influenced by her. But she paved the way for most female pop stars. She is the blueprint.

I've enjoyed a few of Azealia Banks past songs ( some really great beats) but she has said some very polarizing, Kanye-esque crap over the years that makes it hard to separate the music from what she's spewing ( i don't count this Madonna not influencing her as offensive, it's just her opinion as of right now at least) My amateur online psychology degree tells me she's got mental health issues which if true, is sad. OR she's just from the school of any publicity is good publicity.
