I literally had a discussion on this forum with fans claiming that "it doesn't matter we've got absolutely nothing for 40th anniversary, we should wait for 41st anniversary to have a proper celebration!"

I wonder if this release is going to have anything to do with the photoshoot she did in June with the caption “my baby’s got a secret”?! It was posted on Insta. It also had “Secret” playing on the post.

I think she wanted to calm the waters, not starting strong at all and that's why Survival was the PERFECT opening track. She said her thing and did it kindly, going then to a smooth, cool midtempo funky love song and THEN getting into sexyness. TAB was the last one as it was written whenb the recording session was basically over and didn't fit the general sound of the album, TAB is like a homage to the roots of it all and having it as a closer is the best choice imo. The only thing I would have changed is removing Don't Stop, that's it for me. About the tracks order, to get more cohesive sound parts, maybe you can put HN close to IRBYL and Inside of me close to Sanctuary and BS, but the new jack, the hip hop soul - cause in BS we don't have simple hip hop tracks imo - and the trip hop sounds were all evolutions of the same RnB roots, I feel it pretty cohesive withh the only exception of BS (but Bjork is a kind of her own). Not at all similar to the RH mess (full of pretty good tracks though).

C'mon. I don't like Rebel Heart, and maybe if it didn't leak back in a day, it could be much better work. She had to rush to the label with what she had recorded.

A lot of demos were already better as we know. Wash all over me and Rebel heart are a crime on final versions. That's why I'm saying that without the leakings, she would change them 60 times to make them worst in the end. We are talking about the same person that made Like a prayer and Music in less than 6 months. 

She and her team don't have the agility to do things without making anyone tired in the end. And after all, delaying things and having weird choices and poor quality (Die another day, last week), makes me think that they don't have any kind of direction or strategy.

Another example is the Eurovision drama. She didn't sign a contract and made everyone anxious about if she was going to be there or not, only confirmed one day before I think and we know the result in the end. So much hype sometimes can play against the expectactions. Those are only examples.

She was a marketing genious till Sticky & Sweet.

Everything that she releases now is a bonus for her amazing career, but the way is always problematic.

I can somewhat relate to this. But if all songs are included and in terms of an effective playlist, Bedtime Story should go at the end and Take A Bow should be in another building.

I will never agree with this - to me the Wash All Over Me demo was a limp dance track and Rebel Heart was just okay. I definitely prefer the final version of Wash All Over Me which was closer to the spirit of the demo and not so much a forced dance track. (Still happy it leaked though!)
