1.6 million people from the Rio concert

Well said!  If she was at the end of her career, I'd agree she's definitely ended it with a bang!  Though, she's still going.  My guess she will until she drops dead or is physically incapable of doing so.  Unfortunately, those instances could strike without warning, leaving anyone with unfinished business. She doesn't seem like she's interested in ending her career at this time. Unfortunately and realistically I don't expect her to ever pull off anything as magnificent as her most career defining moment is.  Of course, those moments are subjective for most. To me, she'll never achieve the same sort of commercialism, attention and success as she's already done with her past work. It doesn't mean she won't have a surge of interest from time to time, but for me, she's solidified as "ICONIC" and that will never change.  Her past achievements will always be compared and revered for years to come.  Lastly, I don't want her to stop. Though, I know there will come a time she won't be able to even do half the things she's doing now.  People wind down as they get older even if they are more active than most people their age.  :)

1.6 million people from the Rio concert: Am I a joke to you?

Yeah, but how many people actually saw the Rio concert? Aside from illicit VPN streams and downloads from some of us hardcore fans, the reach of the show was not that significant culturally and globally. Headlines, yes. But limited.

Its hard to believe they have done this to fans again, its so rude, unprofessional and stupid (all the marketing and missed opportunities around Madonna is shocking considering the $$$$ they could be making). I miss people who are good at their jobs.

And she just started another revolution of love / are u in my gang / are u with me?/ thing... That will lead everything into a 17  minute random video with a performance at KFC on top of the bar and a website that will be active for a month featuring art curation with Rita Ora.

"not that significant culturally and globally"?? The fact that 1.6 million people got off their couches and went to see a 66 year old woman that broke the world attendance record that will forever be there for everybody to see, can be considered a pretty big bang if you ask me. I know the concert was free, but let's see how many artists well in their 60s are able to achieve that.

Let's please not try and minimize this massive achievement just because we're pissed she wrote 'soon' on her Instagram and then failed to follow up exactly when we wanted.

Rio was a huge achievement and, once again, her paving the way for her peers in the future. We can expect to see more of those kind of shows in the upcoming years, that's for sure. Beyoncé was rumored to be next in Copacabana.

What's frustrating about it is she had the world at her feet, press and public, and did nothing to capitalize on it. But at the same time, she was finishing a grueling tour so who can blame her for wanting a rest.

As for the "BS" (that's for "Bedtime Stories", not "bullshit", but at this point who knows) surprise, if it's really coming for RSD Black Friday there's really not much time left to announce it. Whitney Houston's people announced a RSD BF release a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't first included on the official RSD list. So that's a possibility...

I'm starting to believe it remained as RSD release. They want just to announce it by themselves. But when, clock is ticking...

the point of an artist reaching a wide audience has NOTHING to do with the legality of media consumption. She doesn't need to monetize her art anymore, she's already beyond rich and her outputs are widely viewed, seen, heard, shared and commented. Are you going to call the Internet police?

What do people expect exactly? What would an acceptable way of "capitalizing" on it be?

This forum always feels like half her fans would like to spend ALL THEIR MONEY on her.

Mama is not going to love you more if you give her more money

Why can"t yall be glad that she gives away so much for free, ffs?

- Releasing a new song (or even just a live song from the broadcast) a week/two weeks after Rio to capitalize on the good press and reviews. She had the world at their feet after that tour finale for the first time in many, many years (probably since the Super Bowl?).

- An official tour release this year or at least a streaming premiere.

I don't think it's that much to ask for, really, and it's what anyone else would have done in this case.

But I'm grateful for the amazing tour and for having Rio professionally recorded, obviously.
