He has all Madonna's pretentiousness and smugness but without any of the charm or talent to back it up. Definitely sexy though.

He's got some talent for painting, and I think he's quite good,  but I don't believe he'd be close to where he is without his parents. But what's he supposed to do? You're in the situation you're in and you make the most of it, and he essentially says that. At least he's not sitting home spending their money all day.

I can hear the Brit, but his American accent is still there so it's not quite British to my ears. (I'm British) I've only heard him talk previously when he was on Ellen with M, and I remember thinking 'Ah, I guess M won the battle of the accents'.. and now that's changed, haha

Yeah I was def trying to figure out the accents. Good for him. He seems like he has humility and is grounded vs Lolahol lol

It's interesting to hear the rawness, we never really consider what it must feel like to be children of two  one mega star - and how that had affected him, but how he has now transcended through that, and this art has helped him heal emotionally from it.

Is he the best artist, no, but that does not diminish what it has done for him, as a human and that's really great to see.

he is more talented then any of us lol. i like his style.

i thought he only spoke with an american accent!?

Let me disagree. @EgoRod does fantastic art. Rocco's style is not plesant to me. I have my doubts if he can paint in different artstyle than that. I want to be wrong on that.

Rocco has all Madonna facial expressions and gestures when he talks. He also has natural charisma. Physically sure he looks a lot like his dad but he also has some strong ciccones features. I see a lot of Madonna when he speaks. You could see Madonna walking, standing, talking and explaining excatly the same way as he does in this art gallery.

But painting old paparazzi pix of yourself is Uhmmm odd lol. And I don't wanna hear poor me when both of your parents are billionaires. I dunno if Guy is a billionaire but alladin made $1b. Still do you Rocco keep learning and growing. Would have liked to see a painting of his mom. I want a whole set of Madonna ones from him

Interesting... I'm not in the art world so take what I say with a grain of shit but I feel like your first couple of works should have an outward vision and maybe be less about your personal story. Like you can weave personal stuff in, but not make it the totality of the work. We, the audience, don't know you yet and therefore are not necessarily interested in your story. Listening to him explain his works and hearing what they were about kinda put me off. Sounds more like narcissistic rich-kid therapy drawings than having an actual artistic vision. Me me me... sounded like Madonna's speech about Michael Jackson.

It looks like he paints quite well though so I would be interested to see what he does next... something that isn't the Rocco story but a statement of some sorts.

Like even the whole "growing up in the shadows of two celebrity parents" could have been put into a painting if that's what his message is... Like convey THAT in some way instead of "this person is important to me, this place is important to me, this photo was taken of me" or perhaps just don't explain the work.

Agreed. I’d add that it is always wince-inducing to hear a person of extreme privilege externalize feelings of resentment, frustration or entrapment due to the circumstances of their pedestaling while simultaneously and exclusively doing so through the lens of public recognition, particularly in the very elitist world in which he has been given a platform (Rick Owen’s wife would not have been interested in him or his artwork if it weren’t for his mother’s name). I get the narrative of taking back control of the objectification, and it wasn’t his choice to be exposed to the pitfalls of fame, although let’s not forget that Madonna tried very consciously to shield her kids from these and yet at least three of her kids seem to be major hams and eager to get all that they can out of the nepotist culture they inhabit. It is a little too derivative, condescending and on the nose for my taste, and I’m a firm believer that if it’s art, it doesn’t need explaining. Also, seeing him in the dj booth at the after party made me think of a scene of Prince William and Kate from The Crown. 😂

who is also famous for subverting the concept of celebrity, so her nepobaby should know about it too. It's paradoxical and also fascinating that one of her offsprings kind of reappropriates his uninherited celebrity, like the spinoff of her own story with fame, through one of the oldest forms of art: painting, of which his mother is a collector and an outspoken connoisseur.

Based on his description, there is some level of trauma associated with those paparazzi pics, and maybe his art was a way to work through that.
