Serious question. I know for some here it’s not the case. For example, I go to a Kylie forum as well when Madonna is my #1.

So I have to ask… who here does not put her at #1 and if not, who is your ultimate fave?

I will say she is my default. I kinda grew up with Madonna referential and being the chosen pick. BUT There are other artist that I listen far more  and have more  relatable attachment.

She might not be my favourite one but she covers so many areas and she's been with me for a while.

Yes! fan since 1984 and im 46

i dont always agreed to her creative decisions ...like working with Kanye, N.minaj and all these other features. But M. is still my numba 1. :fire:

Followed by Depeche Mode :blackheart:aaaand La La La Kylie:rainbow:

in my fave lists there are also: MJ (duuuh), Prince (i mean...), George Michael, Bowie, Duran Duran, Massive Attack, Tricky..

M.Manson, Björk...Janet (allthou havent listened them for the last albums but the old stuff :handsy:)

aaand off course i do fancy; Cher, Tina, Britney, Rihanna and Queen B (but i dont really consider myself as a fan to them)

Yes, she is. I struggle to listen to others, especially 'big names' like Rihanna, etc. There are songs from artists that I enjoyed growing up and still listen to now (recent music is awful), but I'm not really a fan of the artist, and I don't consider myself a music person, to be honest.

I've now figured out why it's just M for me (personal & spiritual reasons), but it took me years to realise. I have had comments about it - for some reason it annoys others and I don't understand why it bothers them when they're not the ones constantly listening to her, but I'm happy which is what's important, I guess.

I do have a 'chill out' radio station on as background noise often, so I discover the odd song & artist that way, but otherwise I'd say it's 98% Madonna 🙂

Madonna definitely would have been my #1 for most of my life from '85 onwards, but I think my interest dropped down a few notches over the last decade. There are such brilliant new pop artists out there who are writing incredible songs. I'll always check out for updates about her, and if she releases something new, I'll follow the roll-out, but in terms of repeat listens, there are probably a dozen other artists I listen to more frequently than M these days.

For sure one of them... but I have quite a few fave artists that I can not really put numbers on... like Madonna, George Michael, Boy George, Michael Jackson etc... they have all been important to me in huge parts of my life... so I can not imagining life without their music... and I am not interested in giving one single artist the number one spot ;)

You absolutely know my answer ♥️

I like pretty much the Pet Shop Boys, I’ve seen them many times but won’t travel to see them. Last time on the previous year i decided it was my last concert

I like Kylie a lot but wouldn’t travel to see her until this last time that before she was coming to Mexico I bought tickets in the USA

I worship Beyoncés Reinassance Era, traveled to see her and the show was kind of a disappointment.

Residente and Mecano would be my favorite Spanish speaking artists but not near the level of the previous three

Great thread, good question. It really seems like the people who spend the most time posting on this forum are casual fans who think this is atrl and can't grasp the idea that she would be defended on a forum dedicated to her and go berserk when we criticize their real #1 in their respective threads....and i must confess that i take great pleasure in overreacting and pushing the envelope with my comments there just because they don't respect us here. I don't go to other pop star forums, even the ones i love, and certainly not to insult them and their real fans. So yes i'll keep ripping to shreds their faves in their threads whenever they try to push their agendas here. Respect us or don't expect to be respected either.

But it's nice to see some answers so far because it really matches what i feel coming here.

Yes she's my fav, hence why i'm here, on a Madonna forum.

Between 1999 and 2016, in my top 5, even top 3. Now in my top 10, but she really lost me with Madame x, that tour, those surgeries, those woke messages again and again, her depression..but I will always love her. I´m always looking at her news hoping something great in her old school self is coming.

She was for almost 20 years, but some recent behaviors have given me pause, particularly in politics. I find it difficult to separate art from political views, which has led me to connect more with other artists. It’s been tough, though, because Madonna has a unique vision in her music that I just can’t find in anyone else.

I love Massive Attack and Tricky too, and have been listening to them a lot lately!

I absolutely love that Madonna and Massive Attack have a song together (and one of the most beautiful music videos of hers).

M was THE ICON of my teens and twenties. Icon meaning attitude, content, imaginary, story AND music. Musically I've always been a huge fan of Sting, Prince and, most of all, Sade. M's recent years changed her charima but didn't diminished her talent to my eyes: it was like seeing a person who's been part of your life getting older, being more and more exposed, fighting and managing to accept some natural changes (and I don't mean just the phisical ones, also the ability to be part and ispiration to a much younger audience taste), all that helping me to finally humanize her and completely acknowledging the extraordinariness and contribution of her previous 25 years. In the recent years I'm not listening to her music when she is not active, like now, I'm honest, but I know that when SHE gets back (or something nice leaks ) I get back too and I still enjoy about the 80% of her whole catalogue.
