Madame X is an incredible album

I’ve never understood the hate that Madonna got for Madame X. This is one album I can return to all the time for any occasion, granted her voice sounds rough in some songs but isn’t that a part of the appeal of this album? Isn’t that the point? Sometimes I think this is her most artistic album. I mean the whole ending of the album is just absolutely perfection. IMG_2860.thumb.jpeg.b8474ce818ffd2fc3ddb16e1b7510a87.jpeg

I first listened to this album on vinyl, I didn’t expect too much because it was her new album and I was already hearing things about it but surprisingly I loved every second of it and to this day I just don’t understand why everyone hates it. Who cares if her vocals sound synthetic? The music is good and her voice sounds good and quite clear in most songs. I honestly think there are 0 skips on this album. Every song is a different story. It’s just a great album

While taking a creative shower a few weeks ago, i've come to the realization that Madame X is her worst album, ever. That doesn't mean I hate it. Or don't listen to it. I can enjoy it from beginning to end, and would even include a few songs from it on a Madonna Top 100.

While I appreciate the attempt at doing something daring and different, I don't think this album will stand the test of time against the rest of her body of work. Just my opinion.

Love that people Love it down.Enjoy. I'm going to listen to Bedtime Stories now.

Every song is a different genre.

There's a level of experimentation in the music that most artists could never, let alone a woman who's 60.

There's a level of experimentation in her voice that most artists could never.

and she gifted the gays with the most inspirational anthem EVER. (jk)

It took me a while to digest Medellin. I was really expecting something more upbeat. When I decided to listen the album without any expectation that's when I really enjoy it. To me is solid album and I really appreciate her passion for her work as oppose to MDNA (i like it as well). I would have switched Dark Ballet and Butaka videos for Come Alive and Faz Gostoso... I mean the woman is rich it wouldn't have damaged her fortune to call Anitta and make a good club video with brazilian dancers and all that. I don't think it's gonna be forgotten but reconsider in the future just like Bedtime Stories or American Life.

I feel this was an album she showed she was interested in going the artistic route and not necessarily looking for commercial praise.  I'm sure she was hoping the public would be more accepting, but at the same time, I think she felt she has done it all, and she knew that whatever she did at this time, the general public probably wouldn't latch on to any of her new music.  She took a chance with this album and I think over all, it's a pretty good album.  It's not my favorite, but I appreciate it and there are some really stellar songs on this album.  Then again, I never am greatly disappointed with any album she releases. Every album guarantees another song I just adore.  "Looking for Mercy" and "Extreme Occident" are two I love.  But I also love "Crave" and "Crazy" as well. "I Rise" is a great song too.  It's not an album I pull out a lot, but it's definitely an album I find artistic and definitely a "mood" album.

Madame X is just a whole other level genuinely ....like it is the best album of 2019 and my top 10 greatest albums of 2010's- MADAME X, BORN THIS WAY, BORN TO DIE, RANDOM ACCESS MEMORIES, REBEL HEART, CEREMONIALS, EMOTION, CUPID DELUXE, LEMONADE, ANTI are....the greatest of the 2010s in pop, dance and R n b....sublime albums by Madonna, Gaga, Beyonce,Rihanna, Daft Punk, Florence Welch and Dev Hynes

So for me it's very much helped pave the way for large concept albums for other artists ....Beyonce has used the format on her recent eras! And others seem to be doing it too to make albums feel like ALBUMS ....they have stories, they can be odd, weird, wild and have creativity

Billie Eilish, Ariana and Taylor dominated 2019 but Madonna quietly owned it! Madame X deserved to be bigger commercially and to get global number 1

If we're already calling this a controversial thread, I love "Bitch I'm Loca". And the remix video that I'm crushed that we didn't get a Spotify track for.

there was a music video?

incredible is a reach, but it's definitely underrated. After Rebel Heart, Hard Candy and Mdna it was so good to hear she had something like Madame X up her sleeve.

Incredible isn't a stretch.. YES, the promotion was ABYSMAL but the album in my opinion is, like someone said in this thread, one of the top 10 albums of the decade, for me honestly top 5, and before MDNA. MDNA was so empty compared to this album (I LOVE MDNA BUT..). Madame X is full of artistry, depth, and meaning, the vocals are intentioned, everything about this album, it's almost perfect. There is not a single song on this album that I skip - M isn't gonna stay stuck in the 80s and 90s because some people didn't like her experimentation, I would DREAD having her new album sound like true blue, that's my opinion - she's moving with her time, as she should.
