When do you think Madonna looked her best?

I was around 13 during the rebel heart era and found that she actually got me excited about ageing. I was shocked at how youthful she seemed but with an air of maturity. I think rebel heart is her best album since American Life. It feels like a classical Madonna era. And the last one I truly loved. What about you lot?

She's a beautiful woman, but she obviously had peaks with the look / style. 

For me:

The power of good-bye / Nothing really matters / Beautiful stranger videos. What a long run! Beautiful, and those eyes! 

Confessions era in general! Perfection!

I agree also that around MDNA / Rebel Heart era she was more mature but beautiful and she had an strong aura! I didn't understand some of the looks of Rebel Heart era I think that some of the looks were almost random decisions, and the hair was something that her public saw 1000 times,  but very good in general. 

Celebration Tour: after so many surgeries and ups and downs and coming from the Grammy '23 fiasco, she looked fresh and had again that spark of being decided and strong again. Not 100% her best, but something that was fresh after some depressing years and bad looks. Healthy.

I agree 100%. I must be the only one however that has no love or time for confessions? I like Hung Up. Before I knew much about Madonna (and once I realised she wasn't gwen stefani) I heard Hung up a lot but that was the only song I ever heard. I saw Beautiful Stranger a lot on those throwback music channels. I knew of Madonna but nothing about her. I think (and forgive me) that Confessions was a 'shit, panic' moment after the disappointment of American Life. It just feels bland and predictable to me. I much prefer American Life.

I can listen to Hard Candy when I'm in the mood but that album just feels boring to me. MDNA is a slight improvement. Rebel Heart was gorgeous whilst Madame X I have no opinions about. It's fine I guess. 

And re the Celebration Tour. Yeah, she looked wonderful during it. It actually helped me become a fan again. I was so sick of her behaviour and awful surgeries and when I saw her again I was like wow, Madonna is back. Hell yeah!

I love Madonna in her 40s. Ray Of Light, Music, American Life, Confessions... ugh! I miss those eras.

one thing that often surprised me with Madonna in the last 10-15 years is that she put so much effort into looking more youthful, but chose hairstyles that aged her significantly. The big long curls added 10 years easily, even in the most flattering photos.

I agree. And it's not ageist to point this out. I think Madonna is the worst contributor to ageism she faces. Granted, she'd face it anyway but she doesn't help matters. You can be older and look young and sexy. Just chill out. It feels desperate. And puts so many people off her and just makes her seem desperate.

I'll always say Madonna's Rebecca Carlson will forever be the sexiest thing I'll ever watch or see in my life.  Her beauty and naked dancer's body figure certainly played a part.

 

But yeah her looks in the Beautiful Stranger and Give it 2 Me music videos as well certainly  come to mind.  Crazy the Give It 2 Me video was almost 10 years after the Beautiful Stranger video and she pretty much had the same look and healthy figure.

Also the look for Desperately Seeking Susan, Versace photo shoot around the time of Something To Remember, Ray of Light album photoshoot look, Beautiful Stranger video,  Don't Tell me video look,  Take a Bow video and interview with MTV she looked so good,, Steven Meisel photoshoot around the time of Erotica era of the one sitting in the street (with clothes on lol ), Confessions era she looked so great throughout that whole ear from the album, videos esepcially in Sorry  through to the tour,  the looks she went with for the premieres of the WE film she looked amazing especially the Italy premiere
