I'm not too optimistic... it will probably be some blurry footage from the 70's shot on Super 8 :stare:

If even that.  My guess it will be "unseen" for much of the general public, but for hardcore fans, I'm not optimistic that it will be anything we haven't seen before.  We'll see!

Docs like these don't necessarily impress me because in most cases, it doesn't really include input from that actual artist, and most likely from sources who are a friend of a friend!

this is a Madonna forum, and a Madonna topic. You know fully well fans will consider only positive comments in the documentary as credible.

Why would a serious documentary charting her path to being the biggest female artist in history be wheeling out people to slate her? It's presumably not being made by salty stans of lesser pop divas.

They’ll be a super exclusive short clip of Madonna walking 3 metres in 1987 that fans have never seen and all the Madonna Instagram accounts will post it in slow motion with their logos plastered over her face. Can’t wait.

so why the sell out comment then? Saying something positive is "selling someone out"? What are they supposed to do, make a documentary without anyone saying anything?

Well you could just have asked them what they meant instead of leaping to yet another dig at "loon Madonna fans" on the Madonna forum but for a close friend or family member to speak to these things when you don't want them to, regardless of whether they're positive or not, would be what I'd suspect? Mary Gabriel said the circle around Madonna is incredibly tight and difficult to get access to as a journalist. An intimate story can reflect well on you and still feel like a betrayal to be shared.

I remember when the private letters leaked - the letter from Tupac, that painted Madonna in a positive light, and the letter from Madonna dissing Whitney and Sharon Stone. The fans called the letter with Madonna's negative comments "an invasion of privacy" and "never meant to be read by anyone else".... and yet, with Tupac's letter the reaction was "I wish more people would read this" "If people saw this, they would realize how amazing she is!" ... double standards, just like the reaction to documentary quotes.
