Weird that they decided to apply a blue/cool filter on the upscale pushing an artificial green for the sake of "something different/new"

I wonder if the reason why that video has never looked good is because it was shot on film, and what we've had all this time is the telecine that was done in the 80's (and probably what was upscaled using AI in this case)...

If that's the case, and they still have the original film reels, even if it was not mastered/edited on film, it would still be one of the easiest in her videography to reedit from scratch... no special effects, nothing like that...

It's still a lot of work to rescan all of the film and re-composite everything, but we know her label is too cheap given everything they've done so far lol

It's probably so it looks "neater" and plus Its a Spotify Canva so maybe they have modified the colour on it so it can look different for the app

Can you imagine if all of M’s videos that were shot on film had restorations like this one? If Simply Red can have it done, Madonna certainly can.

This looks like it was shot yesterday!

This makes me wonder a lot:  because compared to her they are less popular as an act and not a major label artist priority in terms of such promotion expenses (aka so labels can actually invest lots of money in restoring music videos, perhaps it's just the artist disinterest, aka Madge?).  Every other single artist is investing on its own body of work (4K videos, expansive re issues), I honestly don't get what the problem with M is.... Not looking back is one thing, but not acknowledging your own career is something that with time won't relate you with future generations and preserve your status. All these years without a new album (or a new hit...) could have been filled with reissuing both her music and video footage (especially since she embarked on a "greatest hits" tour), but if she's happy like that I guess we all are....

@Roy do you have like a idea or pic of how the Like A Virgin 2024 Remaster EQ would look like on a 10 band equalizer? I would love it for my stuff

I think @Aiwa08 showed us how the remaster looks like on a 10 band EQ.

Gonna tap to them for it. :D

It looks like the only time we'll get what we really went is when Madonna is no longer here.

Absolutely pointless? When everyone is grieving and we are not in the mood? I just hope we get a new album soon and she keeps releasing material. She still has a long life to live and she has only done a half of what she could do next!

Did a quick upscale of the ProRes file I have just to compare the clip. Some details are resolved better, meanwhile their new color grading helps the image "pop" more.

The original video is so dark, to be honest. It's good that they regraded the video. :D
