If she would have done only

DSS, WTG, Dick Tracy, A League of Their Own, maybe Snake Eyes, Evita and a few appearances... her actress career would be more consistent.

Lady Gaga for example, had some nice roles here and there... but insisted in doing a lot of films and ended up making that Gucci bomb and Joker 2 (to be fair, this one was an unexpected flop)

I never saw the Gucci film.  But I liked her in Joker 2.  The film may have not met it's expectations, but I hardly call it a flop, nor did I feel Lady Gaga was the issue in the film. What I do know is Lady Gaga seems a natural fit for acting than Madonna.

The cool thing is though, Madonna has starred in a few iconic films that will always be remembered in film history even if she isn't necessarily the memorable key player in the film. For instance, Dick Track and ALOTO.  Both films had a huge cast of stars and she was smart to latch onto those roles.  The same goes for Evita.  Those films will always be stand outs for much of the general public.

Gaga is definitely a better actress than Madonna, but that isn’t exactly saying much.

Gaga couldn’t even get a Golden Glove nomination for Joker 2.

That really shocked me the way some people go on about how great they thought she was in this.

I really haven't seen many go on and on about how "great"  she is in The Joker 2, but I didn't think her performance didn't take away anything from this film.  My issue at best is the storyline with the film.  I thought Pheonix and Gaga made the best of the script they had.  Of course many expected this film to surpass the first, but that's just a gamble, especially when the film was billed as a musical.  Even so, It was still entertaining and a pretty decent film.

@androiduser and @Starchild have gone on and on about the rave reviews she has received for Joker 2.

That's among this forum... I don't deduce the success or failure of anything at this community based on a few members you disagree with. The film obviously reaches more people than anyone you and I converse with, and you must realize your opinion doesn't dictate the success or failure of anything.  While I agree that Joker 2 didn't exceed it's expectations, but you will never convince me that Lady Gaga is the deciding factor that made this film fail.  :)

I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything.

I just don’t think she is a good actress and after reading all the rave reviews of her in this film, I’m just surprised she didn’t get a Golden Globe nomination. That’s all. :)

I think you constantly demeaning her accomplishments is very much trying to convince people otherwise. But yeah, I realize, you are welcome to your opinion.  Her not getting a Golden Globe Nomination doesn' have anything to do with what I said, and we all know that Globe Nomination or Oscars Nominations doesn't always define the success and failure of a film.  If anything these awards shows, spotlight films that don't necessarily get a lot of commercial attention, yet at times it's not always the case. From year to year it's different and it's not always a "popularity contest".

I never go by Critical perception but more public perception.  There's a lot of people who enjoy Lady Gaga, just like many enjoy Madonna.  There's a huge similarity to how much shit both get thrown at them by the public.  At the end of the day, if you're still talking about them, then they have succeeded in some capacity.

Well, If I could include "truth or Dare" I would pick "truth or dare" as the answer to both questions.

But If "Truth or Dare" is into a documentary category so I can't include it in the movie in this question..

Well, I will say that Madonna's Most Iconic movie is Evita and will people remeber most is Desperately seeking susan.

Evita is iconic in many ways, in that Evita's life is similar to Madonna's, in that it finally won her the Best Actress award, and that she has successfully changed her vocal style once again. And the fact that she won the role over famous actress such as Michelle Pfeiffer and Meryl Streep is also iconic.

And I think that Desperately seeking susan will be "general people" remeber most. Because this film is an important feminist film directed by a female director not just for madonna, film lovers will know that this film must be included when talking about a feminism film, a film directed by a female director. And the hairstyle and fashion that she showed in this movie is a must-have when it comes to fashion styles that represent the 1980s, so the general public, not just Madonna's fans, will remember and say it over and over again.

Would Madonna be upset with me if I told her that I haven't seen any of her movies because I've never considered her a good actress nor have I been interested in the plots of any of her movies?

In general I'm not a fan of watching movies except for horror ones. If at least Madonna starred or had an important role in movies of this genre such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Terrifier, Saw, Annabelle or the new version of The Exorcite I would surely be enthusiastic about seeing her act in one of those movies but as long as she continues to star in silly comedies or boring dramas my desire to see her movies will be practically zero.
