Madonna and cross jewelry

That's something consistent about her since the early 80s to me,   she's always wore cross necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc...  I have a Catholic background as well and still think of myself as a good Catholic boy at heart.

 

Her cross jewelry she wore/wears always added more to her allure with me besides her beauty.  More often than not I found it downright sexy.

 

 

But I always wondered why she enjoys wearing it so much.  It reminds her of her childhood?  To be close to her mother who had the same name as her and sounded real religious?  Or as she said once she found it sexy a man without a shirt on it is on it.  Lol.  Paraphrasing there.

To me, it's part of her persona.  Madonna embodies sex and religion into her act.  It's part of her signature style.  She knows it provokes people especially when she chooses to be naughty, while being draped in crucifixes.
