VogueMusic reacted to Aiwa08 in How do you feel Madonna has changed Western culture?
NORMALIZE: to cause (something previously considered abnormal or unacceptable) to be treated as normal.
In the 90 if you were gay, you couldn't get married. In the 90 a woman who enjoyed sex was called "whore".
Madonna played a pivotal role to change that with her music, video-clips, interviews, documentaries like "Truth or Dare", etc, etc, etc. And that behavior almost destroyed her career because the backlash against her was inhumane (especially with the book "Sex"). Being a Madonna fan from 1992 to 1998 was really tough (everyone hated her). Fortunately, she released "Ray of Light" and won a Golden Globe for Evita and the heavy blacklash ended.

For fun, and because it's a great creative exercise different to the kind of work I do as a designer full-time.
Plus sometimes people don't know what they want until they see it. And concept projects like mine could be deciding factors in convincing the people responsible to produce products like this, especially once they see audience and consumer demand.
We've got some of her old maxi singles on streaming now after all - anything could happen.

They put Beyonce and Taylor Swift above Madonna albums?
Michael and Prince in the top 12, but no Madonna.

VogueMusic reacted to Team Madonna in Madonna on Rolling Stone's 500 Best Albums
Ugh......the world (except us) seems to have something against M. She has made much better music than Bey and Swift could make even on their best days. When I want good music, I don't put a Taylor Swift CD on! (I like her though). Our queen deserves better!

VogueMusic reacted to Velvet Rope in Madonna on Rolling Stone's 500 Best Albums
We're actually taking all of these lists seriously when the people who wrote them probably haven't even owned a music history degree or a journalist badge for several decades? These people writing these articles and compiling these lists most likely have never listened to all 500 of these albums (other than the ones by Bey and Taylor obviously) and are just writing bullshit to fill space. Any of these newer revisions of "____ greatest _____ in music history" are absolutely redundant because they're written by complete imbeciles who have never truly studied every facet of music history or even popular music history in general. Fuck all of these articles. They're irrelevant.

VogueMusic got a reaction from Gâteau in Candy Shop? Not again. But how often?
I fucking LOVE Candy Shop. It's a fun, funky, little number that's always been a great jam live. I think it's the tongue-in-cheek, irreverent lyrics and the simple yet funky arrangement that fits Madonna's sensibility. I can see why she loves it so much.
And same for Human Nature. And let's face it, the song is basically her manifesto now. And rightfully so.
LOVE 'em.
