Back in the day, she said that Frozen and ROL both are about 10-12 minutes each, and that they edited them down to manageable album lengths.  I would be thrilled if they released the full versions

Dear heavens, spare us from that kind of horror.
Cyndi Lauper included "new remixes by current artists" on the 30th Anniversary reissue of She's So Unusual, and people on superdeluxeedition.com went ballistic!
Especially since Cyndi also left out remixes from the era in favor of these new horrid mixes.
Since then, when someone does something like that on a reissue, we say that they Lauperfied the reissue.
I think William Orbit could go in and dig out some unedited versions, and do his tweaking on other songs, and release it on a Deluxe edition of Ray Of Light.

    This is amazing news.
And I do believe that Madonna can break Rod Stewart's old record.
Madonna is one of the biggest stars in the world.

Not only that, she had film commitments as well. When ROL was released she was also learning how to play the violin for a film she was preparing for which she dropped out three weeks before filming began in 1998 due to creative differences with the director Wes Craven.  Eventually, she signed on to do The Next Best Thing, so her time became consumed with that as well as the soundtrack for that as well as working a new album eventually.

The way I understoos it, she had so much promotion to do, and it took a long time before she could go back to the studio to work on Veronica Electronica, and by then she just didn't want to do it, so the project was abandoned.

I completely understand what you're saying. I just don't find it a good strategy from Warner. That's my point.
They could have expected that fans will be going crazy for reissues. Basically, any other artist is releasing them nowadays. In this digital era, in 2020s where everything is happening at such fast pace and every 'miracle' lasts five minutes. You cannot simply promise landmark reissues to fans in the announcement... and then do not release a single one for 3 years.
I understand the deal is also about FEL, AL Mixshow Mix, digital singles etc. But if they knew back then in 2021 that there is no plan to release any reissued album until let's say 2025/2026, there was no point mentioning it in the official Warner statement.
I just feel they shot themselves in a foot by doing it this way. They could have easily announced a simple thing that Madonna is back with Warner and they plan to release digital singles and remixed albums as the first thing (FEL, Mixshow) etc., noone would be asking about reissues, and then WHEN SOMETHING/reissues are actually planned and coming, make another announcement.
Announcements are being released literally daily, you are not limited to only one, you don't need to announce something 3 years in advance. No one is doing it this way because it's simply doesn't work. That's my whole point. I don't find this Warner strategy and way of communicating with fans very well thought. And as clearly seen in this thread, it's just p*ssing off (pardon my French) most of fans.. Or most of fans simply gave up and all excitement regarding reissues is long gone, including mine. But that's how I see it.

It painted him in a worse light than her. The main takeaway was that she is a bit tight with her money which we already knew. He came out of it as an entitled wannabe who blamed her for everything.

I would really love a box set for each album, including remastered versions plus alternate mixes and b-side/demos, and some unreleased photos from the cover photoshoot.
I don't see that happening, unfortunately, but I still can dream...

I feel like this is a hard one to answer because everyone is so different and has very different reasons for buying what they buy and collecting what they collect.

Personally? I’d probably look to get them framed (archival framing) and displayed for three main reasons:

    1. Two of those lithographs are from favourite shoots of mine and I love them.

    2. I don’t look at anything I buy for myself as a monetary investment/in terms of potential or future ££££ value. I look at it as investment in my joy, and I personally get a lot of enjoyment out of using my “things” (whilst still taking good care of them) rather than squirrelling them away and keeping them absolutely pristine and untouched like I used to as a kid.

    3. I’m very aware that my family and close friends don’t share my interest in / love of Madonna and just generally won’t want to be burdened with a lot of my belongings when I’m gone - they’ll want everything without sentimental value gone as quickly as possible with as little effort as possible (life is short and time is valuable). The Celebration Tour rosaries that are due to arrive today? They’ll likely end up being sold for 50p/£1 at a car boot sale. My Immaculate VIP Bomber Jacket? That’ll likely end up going for £5 at a car boot sale. My record collection? They’ll likely pick out any they have personal interest in and then call a local dealer or reseller in to bulk buy the rest and get them gone. And so on and so forth.

But that’s me, and I’m not you. All I’d say is enjoy them. If enjoyment for you means getting them framed and displayed, that’s great. If it means keeping them sealed/absolutely pristine, that’s also great. You know? Life is short. Do what makes you happy.

A USB within a box set was something I played with for my COADF project - I thought it would be really cute to have a disco ball-within-a-ball that was also loaded with the hi-res audio and ProRes copies of her music videos, plus copies of performances and the tour. The idea came from Daft Punk.
It would be amazing if she released something like that, and if this kind of product came back in vogue as a way to purchase physical media music alongside vinyl. We can dream...

About 10 to 15 years back, I really thought the USB route was the way we were heading.  I always thought that could have been a great additional physical format when it came to releasing music.  It could provide a lot of space for bigger files and audio formats of music.  It also could include videos or trailers.  The possibilities seem endless. But streaming came  along and really dominated. And while I would never knock streaming because it's so convenient, but most people forget or aren't aware how compressed those files are when streaming. Add a bluetooth speaker while streaming, the music is even more compressed.  Still, I prefer ANY option physical, digital or streaming then argue limiting options. Right now I have no use for CDs, but I wouldn't rule them out or complain if they did come back strong. Vinyls seem to have really come back strong in the last few years.  Again, I welcome it. It's how I started with music. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I am thankful that we have so many options when experiencing music. The idea that we can go anywhere and hear our favorite music is so awesome. If that's how you ONLY prefer your music, that's awesome too. But of course, it's not the only format available.  Let us not forget though, the music industry is a business. They will capitalize on any rising interest/demand they see fit.  If one doesn't like it, then don't buy it!  You have other options.  Getting back to this whole Warner deal with Madonna, we should be pleased that much of her catalog that was originally released commercially is becoming available digitally and on streaming formats.  Is it perfect?  Nope!  I agree so much more could be added, but I can say that with any artist out there.  Madonna's catalog is vast and she is one the very few who started in the 80's who has so much of her catalog available now on digital and streaming formats.  If her record label and team decide to add additional mixes and edits that weren't originally available commercially, then that's awesome too, but it doesn't mean I am going to have a meltdown and implode over it.  As mentioned, much of her catalog is available and easily accessible.

I agree! Nothing needs to be closed here!  Some act like they are being forced to open this thread and forced to read it.  Everyone has the choice not to.  It's a "discussion thread".  People are going to offer their opinions which I do respect and others will counter with facts as well. Of course, there will be difference of opinions here, but for some to come in here to simply complain or shade people who actually take time to write their thoughts down respectfully is not productive. I for one understand those who are frustrated, but let's not act like EVERYONE is "satisfied" just because they are able to explain and understand what the Warner Deal entails. Of course, I would love to have more!  But I'm not also going to gaslight and act like NOTHING has been produced.  That's just not true!  Just because one doesn't like what has come of the deal, doesn't mean NOTHING has been produced.  @GregVsMattis correct. Some are confusing their emotions/opinions with actual facts. I'm not mad or pissed at anything said here. I welcome all who have an opinion, but it doesn't mean I won't challenge you on it.  And if one can't read or write past a sentence or two without shading people for those who can, then maybe you shouldn't be participating in a discussion.
