I've finally completed this project of remixes. Songs from various phases of Madonna's career remixed and meshed up with classic disco songs from the 70
Starting with I Want You, mixed with the Original Marvin Gaye version and adapting other songs to some of the most famous songs from that era, like I Will Survive, We Are Family, Just An Illusion, Daddy Cool, Le Freak, I Want Your Love, You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) and Bad Girls. So Happy dancing!

Talking about the first album in other post, I was surprised with the news about the original "First Album". It was called "Lucky Star" and the album didn't have the "Holiday" track. Instead the album has "Ain't no big deal". For curiosity I recreated that album, obviously using the regular album versions because we don't have the original mixes. At the end I liked the original concept. So if you wanna donwload the first album when it was still called "Lucky Star" with a different tracklist, here is it (remember, It's just the album versions without "Holiday", replaced by "Ain't not big Deal", and using the 12'' version of Everybody and a 12'' edit of Burning Up):

I made these because I wasn't really happy with the original mixes. They have way too much going on so I decided to clean them up a bit and customize them to my personal preference.

8'40 minutes only using the multitrack and no additionnal production. I tried to surprise the audiance and not just add an intro and an outro but to make a mix that is different than the album version and not being too repetitive or monotonous.

So we know in 1992 Madonna refused permission to Was (Not Was) to release her unused 1982 vocals on the remix track "Shake Your Head (Lets Go To Bed)", so the remixes by Steve Silk Hurley had to be remade with Kim Basinger vocals. The full 12" remix with Madonna vocals was issued by error on "Now Dance 93" on vinyl and cassette only (these have quite poor sound), and the Madonna Dub was put on the CD "Somewhere in America there's a street named after my dad". The Kim Basinger version was then put out as the 12" remix and also had two official edits; the 3.45 "Single Remix" on the CD of "Now Dance 93", and just to really confuse everyone a different longer 4.00 edit on "Now 23"!!
In the folder there's all the official Madonna and Kim Basinger Versions, plus I removed Kim Basinger off the Now 23 edit and Single Remix to create Madonna and Ozzy versions, plus a solo Madonna Single Version. I also remade the 12" Remix with a CD rip removing Kim's vocals and overdubbing Madonna's vocals from my cassette rip. I'm really pleased with that one, at last it has a more pristine sound instead of crappy analogue rip quality. 
So to avoid confusion they're all well labelled!

We all know that the original Remix Edit doesn't have the vocal intro ("Come Girls, Do You Believe in Love,...."). For the video-clip Warner/Madonna copied & pasted the vocal intro from the "Local Mix". Finally, in 1991, The Immaculate Collection gave us the proper "Remix Edit" vocal intro, but the song was edited to four minutes. So I've added to the original Remix Edit the original vocal intro from the Immaculate Collection. If you wanna enjoy the full Remix Edit with the proper vocal intro, here it is:

This track was made using the Religion (Above & Beyond Nitromethane Mix), a 2001 remix which used vocals from Drowned World/Substitute for Love.  I incorporated more vocals from Like a Prayer, Act of Contrition, Nothing Fails, Girl Gone Wild, and The Beast Within, as well as spoken parts from the Medellin and Dark Ballet Music Videos. Ok this is a thread tailored for me ! I've been obesessed with "Warning signs" for years ! When i was a mod on MadonnaFanzine everytime the track was mentionned people would mention my name lol. At that time, i was "virtually" close to a member who happened to be a collector, a discreet one. Long story short, he had "Warning signs". He is the one who described the song me, saying the beat is similar to Gambler and revealing the running time and other details. He said the most obvious reason the song has been discared is actually because it is too similar to Gambler. Now has the track has been performed and filmed for "Vision Quest" like "Crazy for you" and "Gambler" ? The answer is yes ! Actually "Warning signs" has been discared at the very last minute. Some "Vision Quests" adverts even mention the three new Madonna songs ! That guy is also the one who gave me the details about the second track recorded for "Desperately seeking Susan". The track shares the se title as the movie. He gave me some details as well like the running time, the electric guitar bridge and told me the best way he could describe the track to me is that it has a similar vibe to Spagna' "Easy lady".  The guy was very reliable. He shared with me the full Warning Signs lyrics before the sheets leaked on Ebay. I even posted them on the forum back in the days (with his permission of course). A few months later i've been in touch with anpther collector (also seller this time) who owned "Desperately seeking Susan" and agreed to sale it to me for 600 $. I contacted some other forum members to make a collective fund to buy the track. The seller heard about it and cancelled the sale. A few months later the music sheets of "Warning signs" have been sold on Ebay. No other news about those two tracks since then... and it's been years ago....

If you've downloaded the stems/multitracks for Holiday, you probably noticed that they're actually from Shep Pettibone/Goh Hotoda mix (a.k.a. the Q-Sound mix). You probably also noticed that they're similar in length to the album version. So I've used them to make this new mix which imagines what the Q-Sound mix would have sounded like had it not been edited down to 4 minutes.
 
I've tried to be as true to the original Q-Sound mix here as possible. The exceptions being that it's not mixed in actual Q-Sound, since I don't have (or want) the technology to do so. Also, I've increased the tempo to 118 bpm, as the Q-Sound mix did, but without altering the pitch. (Back then I think they just increased the tape speed, whereas these days we would beatmap.)
 
Any and all constructive criticism and feedback is appreciated and welcome. I'm an amateur mixer, of course, and would like to get better and better at this.

Had fun putting this together, an extended version done the way I like extended versions: longer intro, alternate way of using bits and rougher + louder vocals.
