True. Not only that, no one would agree on the definitive version. But I don't believe the majority of fans care.  I'm happy the various versions are available. Combine them or not, they sill add up to the same numbers.  I also understand why the versions aren't merged.  They want each version to be heard and counted.  It doesn't change the fact if we combine them, there are a lot of people still streaming her music.

Folk didn't even know this was happening until fairly recently. It's a deal done by Madonna which has her song in the biggest film in the world. She probably has some idea what she's doing and as fans we should enjoy the exposure rather than worrying about what might be (I mean in all likelihood a new release would probably chart at number 83 if lucky and then vanish).

Fans try to make it more simpler than it is.  There's always something more going on that we don't know. As frustrated as we may get over some of the choices, it doesn't always come down to someone being incompetent or a miss opportunity.  It doesn't mean the latter doesn't happen, but I don't see Madonna suffering financially.  She obviously is doing something right, even though WE fans aren't getting everything we demand. And let's be real here, Madonna is one of the last iconic stars from the  80's who is highly active and has most of her catalog up digitally/streaming.  

Can't blame her really. If you compare any big deal (the movie, the Rio deal with the bank) or physical sales with streaming profit, especially coming from the old days, she must think "what is this s**t and why even bother?".

Agree. Also, I don’t think a particular playlist is gonna give it the numbers people want. People here should look on twitter/x. More viewers are talking about BBB sticking in their head than LAP. Nothing her team can do would change that.
But plenty of ppl are talking about LAP though, how great it was in the movie, how the movie reminded them what a great song it was, etc. That to me is more important than pushing it on 12-16 yo who likely won’t retain it now.
But maybe it’ll continue to resonate w/them over time. And I also love the idea of people old enough to remember it reengaging w/it. I’d love to see its numbers stay higher than they’ve been consistently.

One day Spotify will disapear and all the numbers with it. Not the real sales though. Also let's not pretend that Like a prayer wasn't a HUGEEEE hit back in the day. Running up that montain (or hill or whatever) nobody remembers that song after Stranger Things. Nobody even remember the series!

People’s political opinions have nothing to do with their talent.
Its ok that we have different opinions and beliefs. We can still collaborate.
Its through association that we learn to empathize with others, become more compassionate and sometimes get them to understand us better.

I am hyped Like a Prayer is being used in the film I wonder if it'll get streams up too ?! CMON LAP album gets those streams boosted !!!

I agree 100% on this. I think it's mostly to protect her hair health and she started using extentions about the MDNA era. She already was 54 at that time and really did everything to her natural hair for 30 years already, it was wise and I'll always prefer extentions than wigs, except they're needed to serve the creation of a stage character, like Dita or the spiritual electro creature of the last set of the Celebration tour (this was already be done in the past though, like the disco Studio 54 curly one in the Girlie Show or the geisha balck bob in Drowned world, they were simply necessary to stage the character).
Anyway I connected to share a thought about the HUGE POLEMIC and discussion the Olympic game ceremony trans and queer scene is causing in many catholic countries: the scene has been considered balsphemous by many people as they are offended by the idea it would have shown the last supper with lgbtqi+ characters. The controversy is getting stronger and stronger at the point that many official representers of the italian, french and american bishopric and priests associations, the same as the right usual politicians in search of some visibility, made official satements and the hashtag #lastsupper (in different langueges) are X trending since days.
Of course catholics are wrong, as it's evident by the images and as the artistic director of the ceremony Thomas Jolly explained himself: "The scene was not inspired by the last supper at all, but by a kind of Bacchanal, as the main character was the greek god Dionysus. The artists in scene were 16 actually and not 12 like the ones in the last supper"  It made me think how the world is blocked in absurd and repressive ignorance and ways of thinking and how M still is ahead of our times with her visuals: the Rebel Heart scene, wich actually portraited the last supper, really made me jump on my chair when I first watched it, and yet, broadcasted on the italian national tv three years ago, nobody cared (and a very few watched also, wich is so bad). 

And you’re a fan who have to come here to just say how much you don’t care. And what is your problem with collectors, you don’t want to collect M albums so don’t do that. And yes using LAP in very popular movie is a big deal.
 

odd thing i woke up just as it was about to begin.
they played it in 2 chunks. it was not really 2 different scenes.  but first it was full instrumentation, then more of the acapella. It was all part of the final act of the movie.

How is this a missed opportunity?  LOL!  The song is already officially available.  A label and artist will want to push the album the song is on.  That's obviously what is going on here.  Besides, most people are going to be looking for the original version, not some faded version.
