This live album (or whatever this is) is an abysmal catastrophe. What a lacklustre serving of absolute nonsense. They could have tried to issue a real live album featuring all the songs to commemorate the show as it was since absolutely no-one except for the fans care about an audio-only release. Instead we get a total mess of butchered transitions, random fade-outs, muffled audience sounds and speech recordings that sound like they've been recorded from inside the phone pouches.
This load of crap isn't worth a single penny. In fact, it's actually kind of offensive to even consider releasing this to the public. I get that she wanted to reframe the concert film as some kind of statement piece, but it seems like all she's achieved is to erase any hint that this used to be a continuous live performance. I am extremely disappointed because the mixing of the songs themselves is great but everything else just sucks so bad.

Although it's too bad Sodade is not included to give a nod to Madame X's Portuguese roots, let's rejoice that we're actually getting a 4k movie release and a live album the SAME day! Who would have thought!

I've seen at least three different covers for the album... Which one will stick?

From the previews I've heard, the autotune is exactly like it was live. It was almost the full show like that. I doubt much has been done to the vocals this time around.

Sounds amazing. The editing makes my head spin tho. And we've completely lost the sense of the stage scenography.

American Life is waaaay more intense than most of the show when it comes to the editing.
To me the editing overall is very similar to Confessions tour. Fast but not overwhelming. And the colors look amazing

I got dizzy watching this clip. Loved the show in person. Is it necessary to ruin it with 0.5 sec cuts? Sorry for the complaint.

“2022 will mark the  40th anniversary of Madonna’s recording debut. This new deal heralds the launch next year of an extensive, multi-year series of catalog releases that will revisit the groundbreaking music that made her an international icon. For the first time, Madonna will personally curate expansive deluxe editions for many of her landmark albums, as well as introduce unique releases for special events, and much more. The series of releases will be overseen by Warner Music’s catalog team, led by Kevin Gore, President of Global Catalog, Recorded Music, with the first release to be announced soon.“

maxijazz reacted to VogueMusic in Do you really think that Madonna hates her back catalogue?
    No.
As for this 'hating of her old songs' thing, I think fans take it all way too literally. First, she's not the only artist to feel that way about old songs. And two, she moved beyond that period where she really wasn't interested (around ROL). If she truly hated it all, she wouldn't do old songs in her tours, and they would probably be very different shows. She would have never done anything like Tears of a Clown. Or even Re-Invention. Clearly, she likes some songs better than others. And she's said multiple times that certain songs are just of a certain time that she feels silly just pulling them out without doing something to make them reflective and who/where she is today. I respect that, and it's given us some of her best live tour moments (that very few of her peers/followers even bother to attempt...or could).
As for remasters, box sets, anniversary re-issues, etc...yeah, we'd all love it. But clearly she's not interested in milking that part of her career...yet. She probably feels that stuff can be done later, and I don't blame her (though I'd love it now just as much as any fan). Personally, I think it would make sense to start doing those things into her mid-to-later 70s, probably once large-scale touring finally stops, and she moves on to other creative endeavors/life/etc. As for now, she's a contemporary artist working 'in the now' (as she always has), and she sees herself that way. I don't see that changing for at least a good ten more years or so.
That being said, around the time of the biopic release, it may be a good time to do a 'legacy' era of some sort.
