It's funny cause the press is  pumping her all over and talking about her almost everywhere, but nobody who is over 25 can name or sing any of her songs.
She may win a lot of now useless VMAS awards (is Mtv still a thing?), she may have million of streams, but she has very little impact on music and culture.
I think the thing that reminds me most of Madonna's success is all those girls trying to dress like her. I was in London in August and the trains were full of this new generation of "wannabes".  Still, dressing as Madonna was almost a rebel move, this look is just superficial, glittery and conformist.

Exactly. When I was young, Madonna was everywhere. Her music was unavoidable, whether you liked it or not (the same was true for artists like Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, etc, etc, etc). I know who Taylor Swift is, but I only know her by name—I’m not familiar with her music or videos because they don’t interest me. So, in my view, her cultural impact is nowhere near that of Madonna

No one can deny her commercial success, which is HUGE, but IMO she will never have Madonna's cultural impact. That's what makes you a legend.

Not a contest to me. Taylor has rightfully so been a huge success.  She's very huge, and yes on the the same popularity level Madonna was in the 80's or 90's.  As for her music being as impactful as Madonna, I'd say "No".  I just wanted to get my two cents in before the this thread turns into a shit show, bashing Taylor!  There is no doubt Taylor's been quite influential these days and I feel like she's on the right side of things!!

Supposedly "True Blue" would be next. The original single release was September 29, 1986, so around the end of this month.

I agree. But I always need the bridge between them (Vogue - Justify My Love - Rescue Me).

    Madonna can definitely act.
All one has to do is watch, Dangerous Game and Evita.
She just has no consistency with her acting.

She is mostly bad, but has proven she can do well.

But she's not wrong in what she says.  Madonna can't act.  However, I do think that she's wrong about Madonna in Evita.  Obviously, there's more to the bitterness than we know. Something behind the scenes where Madonna pissed her off.  And Patti is definitely a great actress.  I've seen her in a number of things, and she's always been far more believable as an actress than Madonna.

Maybe it’s my age, but the only thing I knew Patti from was, Life Goes On. A late 80s TV show.
To me and my generation, Madonna is Evita.

Patti is talented, but she falls into the Mariah Carey, Gaga and Elton John talent section:
Talented, but awful, bitter personalities that make you not want to listen to them.

    Using "Youlean Loudness Meter" software:
    "Vogue (from Celebration)":
Momentary Max = -4.62 LUFS Short Term Max = -5.80 LUFS Integrated = -8.81 LUFS "Hung Up (from Celebration)":
Momentary Max = -4.29 LUFS Short Term Max = -6.35 LUFS Integrated = -8.52 LUFS
    In DB:
    formula: dB = LUFS + 23
    Vogue:
    Momentary Max (-4.62 LUFS): -4.62 + 23 = 18.38 dB Short Term Max (-5.80 LUFS): -5.80 + 23 = 17.20 dB Integrated (-8.81 LUFS): -8.81 + 23 = 14.19 dB Hung Up:
Momentary Max (-4.29 LUFS): -4.29 + 23 = 18.71 dB Short Term Max (-6.35 LUFS): -6.35 + 23 = 16.65 dB Integrated (-8.52 LUFS): -8.52 + 23 = 14.48 dB These values represent the sound levels in decibels relative to the maximum digital level (Full Scale).

On TIDAL, there's always an option to "normalize" songs to ensure they play at the same level. For my compilations stored on a hard drive, I use wavegain to adjust all the tracks to the same volume as the "Like a Prayer" album (for example, "Vulgar" sounds as loud as "Express Yourself").
You might wonder why I use the same volume level as the "Like a Prayer" album to 'normalize' my compilations. It's because it's the last Madonna album that features the highest possible volume with no dynamic range compression.

In defense of AI, I have to point out that the results are often influenced by how we phrase our questions. As with any technology, being precise is key to getting the correct answer. In this case, the AI is clearly providing the release dates for the singles, not the music videos.
