The song is brilliant. All those new tracks sound 90's are amazing !
About the vocals it's 100% her. They played a bit with the acapella (some light distortion etc...)
    I love it.

I think Clive Davis went with the “standard” procedure for a brand-new act, not taking into account Barlow was already an experienced and accomplished singer/songwriter. Barlow said in multiple interviews Clive Davis just didn't like the songs he wrote and always insisted on cover versions and a different style of music. In the end, it didn't work out and they dropped him. Luckily, he was able to come back with multiple new songs, even stronger than before.

Does this new House track actually sample M's Secret vocal, or is it a very convincing soundalike cover?
    According to https://www.traxsource.com/title/2307314/somethings-coming-over, it's a sample?

    Thanks for sharing that, @androiduser.
Gary's always come across as a sincere guy and a deep thinker, which I appreciate.
Geez, why would Clive put his artist in such an unfair and awkward position?

I've been watching a lot of Gary Barlow interviews recently, and some of his stories are very fascinating, and he's very honest about the part of his career when he was dropped from the label.
Love Won't Wait was a success for him in the UK, but - although he didn't say much about it publicly, it seems that he didn't want to release it as a single, and he doesn't perform it at any of the newer shows, and doesn't mention it in interviews. There is a very interesting story about him performing a remix at the insistence of Clive Davis at the Grammy pre-party, and messing it up colossally, but he never mentions the title of the song.
I also remember Madonna wasn't credited as the songwriter for the single release in the UK. Instead, the authors were listed as Copyright Control and Shep Pettibone. I did some googling, and it seems that the term “copyright control” is used when the songwriter hasn't yet claimed their work. For the album release, the song was instead credited to Madonna and Shep Pettibone. So I assume after the single was released, Madonna and her team claimed songwriting credit, and they hadn't done it before because it was an abandoned demo?
Barlow hasn't performed the song many times, and he doesn't mention it often. He probably prefers self-written material, and doesn't have good memories of the song because he was pressured by Clive Davis to release it, and perform an unplanned remix of it.
Just wanted to add, he is a fan of Madonna and never dissed her or anything, he just had a bad experience with a song he didn't want to release as a single.
He tells a long story about the pre-Grammy failure here (46:02 - 50:47)
single back sleeve without the Madonna credit

It's fair enough if that's your take, but I think it's an incomplete and inaccurate one.
She kept mistreating him, whether it was financially for his work, for his help with art auctions, outing him publicly, etc.
She was notoriously inconsiderate towards people, so I don't blame him for wanting to humble her after pushing him too far.
Also, let's have a bit of empathy for being her sibling, and the absolute head-screw that would be.

Do you think she would paint herself in a bad light in a book?  If she's such a complete egoist, what makes you think the medium would change anything about the message?  And I love how a movie that hasn't even begun filming has already been dismissed by you as "contrived bullshit".

I really loved it and think it's a must-read for fans.
Another book I loved is the one from her pre-NYC close friend ironically called Not About Madonna.  That one was really touching.

That's because limitation breeds creativity. If Guy said that she needs to stop hanging around gays and clean up her image a little to be his wife then it sure fucking worked for her output. Her creativity during their marriage was the best she had a very long time since. Limits can absolutely be a good thing.
Do I condone Guy's homophobia and misogyny? Absolutely not. He needed some limits of his own. You can't marry someone like Madonna, queen of the gays, their biggest supporter during their bleakest, darkest time period and not expect them around. You also can't shape a woman into being a stepford wife knowing full well that's not who she is. Madonna is the most macho woman out there. Get real, Guy. Still, as a fan, I greatly appreciate the influence he's had on her during those years.
As far as Kabbalah goes, I'm happy it worked for her for a time. But my belief is that many if not all of these spiritual teachers and/or religious institutions are grifters. We all learned the golden rule in Kindergarten. Treat others as you'd like to treat yourself. If you're pushing 40 (as she was then) and haven't learned this by that point, you're kind of a lost cause in my eyes.

Yeh, remember when he snatched the male blow-up doll from her during her party?
She did continue the violent imagery into the MDNA Tour, but it sure was a recurring creative theme during their marriage.
I, for one, loved her creative output during those years - dark themes and all - and didn't feel alienated by it for a second.

Based on what you quoted, I don't interpret it as he "wanted her to be the missus and that's it".
Most likely, she wanted to be her usual, sexy self surrounded by homosexuality, and that's where he dissuaded her.
Christopher Ciccone did call him a miserable homophobe based on his experience, so it kind of correlates.
Ironically, the Guy years were among her creative best.

I agree. I don't remember where but i clearly remember some people close to M& Guy reporting at some points Guy had enough of Kabbalah being so present in their private life and intimacy, like some people of Kaballah, maybe the Bergs, being part of their private arguments to say who's wrong and what they have to do etc...
I just read on a comment above that Guy is supposedly still into kaballah but i strongly doubt it.
