She was smiling a lot, looked really happy. Remember the MDNA Tour show critiques they were saying she looked as bored as ordering dinner. There was none of that last night.

Ok, so I've had time to sort of reflect on The Celebration Tour after watching some better quality videos and looking at professional pictures and want to share my opinion now. 
 
So for starters, the setlist is fantastic! Yes there are some glaring omissions such as Frozen, Music (full version), Express Yourself, and others. However, that all being said, this setlist is fantastic and appeals to everyone! I feel like it has a wide variety and there is something for everyone. Nothing Really Matters, Bad Girl, and Bedtime Stories have never been performed on any tour so they appeal to long time die hard fans that have been dying for them to appear in the setlist. Holiday, Everybody, Hung Up, Vogue, etc. are all here and they appeal to the fans that want the massive hits. Honestly, it would be hard for her to please everyone. Her catalog is so massive and she would have to be on stage for like 6 hours to please everyone in terms of setlist selection. Also, Stuart Price did an amazing job mixing elements of songs into the set. So the setlist is great! 
 
I will say, I'm not a huge fan of some of the costumes. I do LOVE the body suit she wore during the Ray of Light segment, mama looked incredible! The red dress was sexy and fit perfect for her singing Bad Girl in it. The others, didn't really appeal to me personally, they aren't bad per say but I just personally don't like them. 
 
I don't really understand the point of Bob the Drag Queen being there. I know Madonna probably wanted something different, but for me it didn't feel necessary for him to be there. Maybe he could serve as a hype man at the beginning, but having throughout the show seems unnecessary in my honest opinion.  
 
The interludes, backdrop videos, and overall visuals are TOP NOTCH. Excellent! 

Im so happy that she finally stopped doing insane moves. There's no reason a 65 year old should be doing handstands and like 50 squats. That’s just begging for an injury. I haven’t seen many full videos but her vocals sound AMAZING and the setlist is a dresm 

I don't know why people are surprised by the fact that she's relying a lot on backing tracks. She has been doing that since MDNA, or even before. I'm totally fine with it, considering she's 65 and doesn't have the same vocal strength as during the Girlie Show/Drowned days. I'm just a bit bothered by the fact that the chorus of Everybody is mimed to the original 82 recording, which annoys me a bit because she hasn't sounded like that for over 30 years. However, I was okay with Erotica considering it's a more whispered/spoken song, and I don't think anything could go wrong with Erotica.
Anyways, there are moments when you can clearly hear she's singing 100% live, like Bad Girl, which was one of the highlights of the show in my opinion

I would also delete him, but I'm very happy with the simpler costumes. I was a bit tired of seeing Madonna wearing those extremely layered costumes in shows, like the opening ones for the Rebel Heart and Madame X Tours

If I could change anything from the show it will be deleting Bob drag queen, and better costumes, some are ok, but there are some thatr are waaay to simple.

When the album came out, radio stations across the US had started to play Rain and Deeper and Deeper to appease listeners. A lot of comments from radio dj’s at the time was demand for more “traditional” sounding Madonna singles.
The label fed into the demand.

Release time killed Erotica sales. The album should've been released BEFORE Sex book and before The Body of Evidence.

For an era that is considered a flop or whatever, it had great singles. Ballads and dance. Gorgeous videos. Great remixes. Looks for days. A great tour. SNL. All of it has aged well... except the writing of the Sex Book (the imagery is great) and Body of Evidence. My only music gripe is "Bye Bye Baby". A lot of fans seem to love it and the house remixes but I never clicked with any of them. I would have gone with "Thief of Hearts" or "Words". You would think that her VMA performance for that era would be notorious but it's mostly forgotten in the grand scheme of her other major moonman moments.

I like the Erotica nighty costume. The hair for the Vogue section is really good, I like the outfit too. The metallic outfit is cool too. I don't like the first section outfit but I understand its supposed to be grungy early NYC attire.

Bad Girl and Bedtine Srory are so exciting to me.  As is Rain.  Love that EROTICA is three songs in on this tour.  That is pretty exciting.

Why’s the crowd so dead? I mean they’re just standing with their phones up, they don’t even dance! 🙄 

Given that this is the opening night, it is given that there are messy bits happening but once it keeps going, no doubt the Celebration Tour will be a reminder of what Madonna can still do. :D

And with images like this, I think we can just bow down to her and close this amazing comeback night!!!

odd comment maybe but I've never seen a piano bench seat adjusted that high - for someone that tall in my whole life and I have been teaching piano for 30 years. MercyJames was towering over that piano lol ... it sounded great just the same. I wonder was she "finger-syncing?"

I’ve always wondered if she uses padding to protect herself in case she falls and she doesn’t want to hurt a past injury. I’ve also wondered if she might have some arthritis in her hips and padding helps it feel better especially if it’s heated. The thing is, that area is inconsistent. It looks big, then it looks small and then it looks like there is nothing there at all??

They had sound issues all through this song and had to delay 10 minutes after it to get it corrected. That’s why she’s off and why it sounds weird.
