So if Beyonce, Christina, Pink were relevant during the 2000s, than so was Madonna as she outsold them that decade

I'd say the 90s is when she was last seen relevant in the General Public

Confessions was WB's #1 selling album of 2005 and 2006 worldwide
 
HC was one of the labels top 3 sellers of 2008

Now WB just needs to fire Guy Oseary and have a PR team take complete control of her social media and we'll be good to go! 

"4 Minutes" was a monster hit in 2008 and one of the pop songs of that year, it was everywhere. A proper international hit and her last one so far.
The "Sticky & Sweet Tour" was a huge success too.
And then the Super Bowl in 2012.
I know some fans don't like the "Hard Candy" era that much and have "Confessions" as her last peak, but let's not rewrite history...

I’d say the Confessions era  being Hung Up was such a hit. But, I think Madonna is still relevant....maybe not as much as the 80’s and into the 2000’s, but she still has that it factor and is a legend like Prince, Michael Jackson, Elvis etc.  I‘d never consider her  as being irrelevant as a touring artist especially. In the US, I would say up until 2003 with American Life and then she spent another 10 years of so, until 2012-2013, being semi relevant
 
Outside the US, I would say until 2009, notice her worldwide album sales were still good until then and she was still having hit single after hit single outside the US until Celebration

The way I see it personally, with some artists there is that one song everyone knows and they will listen to. I can only name three Cyndi songs and just as many Cher ones. With Madonna there are many more that young people know and I think that's why they sort of share people's interest. I will listen to Believe 20 times maybe but at the same time I will be listening to 20 different M songs. Known songs. Spotify is not that damn hard to use, people  After a very short amount of time you can easily tell which non single tracks from an album have drawn the most attention and I think it's a very good index of which the next single should be. Because they're those effortless songs that everyone keeps coming back to (which is the point of Spotify anyway, easy on the ear, atmospheric songs on playlists etc.)

What pisses me off the most is that a "woke feminist" probably Wrote the "article" and they blatantly refer to a 30 something year old woman as a girl
