Sultrysully got a reaction from Kae-Leah Williamson in Her look on the Virgin Tour
Due to the tremendous amount of dancing in The Virgin Tour, Madonna needed industrial strength clothes.  If she was going to wear them, night after night (and during all of the dress rehearsals), she had to make them strong.  From that aspect alone, going to the thrift shop just wasn't an option for her tour wardrobe.
Over the years, many of her tour outfits were customized to make a tiny human look bigger than life.  From shoulder pads to heels to higher cuts (among other things), her tour clothes have been designed to make her a rock/pop deity.  The Virgin Tour was no exception.
And the sparkle effect became yet another presence on the stage.  Under the lights, she wanted to shine as light is the single most important element of an M concert.  Dancing on a stage is a fruitless endeavor if the audience cannot see the intended nuances.  Much like her current video backgrounds, the shine produced from her tour fabrics became part of the show.  The outfits are designed to light the stage. I cannot imagine any of her tours without the glitz.

In my opinion, Hard Candy was pretty solid (although its feels like a Timberland/Timberlake hijack at times, so I get the criticism) and (for me) Rebel Heart will always be her "what could have been" album.  The leaks stained the era and certainly yielded a different album than Madonna intended to offer.  Madame X , however, is a masterpiece. I love the album.  It truly sounds inventive, modern and unlike anything else being released.  Madonna's soul is dripping all over the tracks and it is brilliant and amazing.  For me, MX is her rebirth.

    Least listened to:
    3. Hard Candy.... it is an album that works best for me as a straight listen though and I just don't listen to albums straight through much.  It is a great record if you listen from start to finish.
    2. Bedtime Stories.... I don't  know why.  I guess that I just have to be in that mood.  I forget about it to be honest.  I actually enjoy the album a lot.
    1. Like a Virgin:  This has always been the least "Madonna" ... Madonna album for me.

A remake (new take) on the Immaculate Collection.  Same songs totally resung with new and modern arrangements.  Give people what they want.... Classic Madonna reinvention.  Some new versus?  New bridges?  New lyrics? A collaboration or two?  What a fucking tour such an album would yield.  Fans and critics would go bonkers.  Call it "The Secind Coming".

You must hate popular music right now cause it is all severely autotuned. Every single pop and R+B artist autotunes the hell out of their music.  It is the sound that is in.

I know... but the fact that The Blond Ambition Tour only 3 years later took everything from this tour to another level shaded it forever IMO. But it was actually already very good and the true game changer, I agree.

What started as trying to get my favourite demo's put through eMaster so the volume levels would match and to add a bit more clarity, I ended up compiling a 28 track album featuring the songs I think are the best versions in terms of production and clarity, so enjoy! @SteffmadI hope you don't mind, I've included your versions of Rebel Heart, Inside Out and Messiah 6 as you did such a good job.

The Who's that Girl World Tour was the archetype for every modern concert performed by every major artist since.  It was mammoth and groundbreaking in every way.  It was historic as it was the first time that a woman ever headlined a world tour.  Describing it as "simplistic" is a disgrace.

Don MacLean loved Madonna's version of American Pie and it is his song.  Madonna did not like it, hence it has been ignored by her even though it was a sizable hit.  I think that AP was inventive for a cover, definitely prefer it to let's say, Fever.  I really enjoy American Life too.  The song set the tone for the entire rest of the album.  The American Life album was brilliant stem to stern.  People haggle over the rap but I love the song.  It sounded very at the time modern and has aged well.  Art is all subjective I suppose but I love both off these songs.  I prefer AL to AP but it is just because covers are more difficult to score your heart in to.
