I'm working on my "remaster" mentioned earlier in the thread, but while I was replacing the 5.1 dubbed speeches with 2.0 stream I looked a bit closer at the 5.1 track and am now doing some more work than expected :)
It seems the Left and Right channels have most of the stage audio (e.g. backing tracks, mic feed) whereas the Center channel mixes that with audience sounds and (what seems to be) a louder mic feed.

The L & R surround channels seem to be audio from mics placed further out in the audience which causes a slight delay on audience cheering and reactions, just like in real life cause of how sound travels distances, just that it throws u off a bit when you're watching the stage in real-time.

Watching the file on my surround system, I felt like the 5.1 mix washed out the music a lot and was very unbalanced compared to the more streamlined stereo mix. So I'm putting more emphasis on the front L & R channels, as well as mixing them over a bit into the C channel, turning down the volume of as well as moving the surround channels a few frames/seconds back so the delay is less apparent and more natural to us watching the stage action.

There are two 5.1 tracks in the 13 GB file, seems the second is the same as this one (the first 5.1 track in the file is the true surround mix, the second seems to be just a stereo mixdown + 3 empty channels).

    Other changes I'm doing:

    • Minor image adjustments for the entire video so the broadcast looks slightly less washed than it does currently, to make the colors pop a bit etc. I'm with all the folx complaining about the occasional pixelation but that's a bit difficult to get around. Grading will help a bit though! :)
    • Adding some visuals to the malfunctioning Bedtime Story cube (mostly cropped footage from either the side screens or fan footage from earlier dates) so it does the staging justice and doesn't look awkward.
    • Bob's mic feed is super low volume when he's telling the Garage rules during Holiday so I'll dub his voice over best I can with sound from a previous date.

    I'll try to be quick!

There's a rerun of the concert next weekend.

I think the perfect scenario would be to:

    1. Keep video from the Globo feed (14GB), we have less logos and the actual music is 5.1 audio.
    2. Replace ONLY the speeches with the audio from the Multishow feed (5GB) since its not dubbed.

I dont have any video editing skills, but I think this way we get the best of both worlds.

ps: for people wondering why there's any dubbing at all: only 5% of brazilians speak english and Globo is a national public TV. Multishow is a paid channel much like MTV.

I rather think the perfect scenerio would be to:

    1. Keep video from the Globo feed (13,9 GB), we have less logos.

    2. Replace ONLY the sound from the 8,08 GB Torrent on Rutracker which has 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio and is not dubbed.

  3. Hi guys! I know this isn't the right place to write this, but I couldn't find anywhere  to enable how to post in the Status Updates. Haven't been in here for a while. Been busy trying to do something positive for the HBTQ+ people. I really need some love and support from all my friends in here. I'm trying to do something good for the HBTQ Community back where I live. I'm in the early stages to start up a nightclub for gay, lesbian and trans with some good hot dance music, including a lot of Madonna related stuff of course. I really could use some more Likes and Followers to my homepage so there's a possibility it could be something more permanent other than just LGBTQ+ events occasionally. More people would be able to get my attention and see there's something for them around where I live and I can get a chance to be a dj and club organizer every month. Would meant a great deal for me. Let me reach 500.

  4. Rebel Heart - Avicii Version (Could be a smash in Europe. People will buy Avicii's mix.)

Wash All Over Me - Avicii Version (Could be a smash in Europe. Great dance track. The album version is slaughtered)

Hold Tight - Demo #5 (4:43) Version (Hundred times better than the album version and a safe single)

HeartBreakCity - Demo #4 (4:12) Version (More edgy and angry than the weaker album version)

    Addicted (Amazing club banger)

  5. I posted that comment as the super deluxe was blasting thru my sony bluray home theatre system though. It just bugs me that such a silence comes after the beautifully put together sound compilation that is Body Shop. The song built up in volume being intentional justifies nothing imho.

Yeah, I know. The volume increases more towards the end and the Vouge part.

  6. Do you guys think that the whole idea of the 2 disc Rebel/Heart idea was mentioned just to tease us? As a way of saying 'Well, now this happened we can't do this...' Firstly, I don't think I could imagine M and her team signing up for this sort of 'untypical' release. Also, if it was an actual plan, I do think M would have insisted on following through with it - or getting it out as a deluxe, for example.

I'm not saying I don't think it was ever a plan - I just think that it was probably a brief idea that M referred back to as a way of having a dig at the 'hack' situation.

I found it extremely weird why they couldn't have done a double album just because of the leaks if they were really intended to make one.

  7. Can't express opinion on the stuff I haven't heard (and that Hold Tight version sounds delicious indeed) but for me every single track on the album is an improvement on the demos. Love Rebel Heart in its final version as well as Wash All Over Me - that Avicii sound was grating on me and made these songs sound like throwaway euro dance pop (not that there's anything wrong with it but we've got Kylie for that... ;)). It's all a matter of opinion in the end of the day - I think that by giving the tracks the treatments they received in the end she made a coherent, exciting and fresh sounding record. Personally, the only track that I'm not entirely sold on so far is SEX - though I do think that lispy rap is hilariously bonkers :-).

I'm actually astounded that she's still got it in her after 30 years. Whether the album and its singles are chart hits doesn't bother me really - she's had the #1s, she made her millions and won the awards, I'm just glad that she's still making quality music for us to enjoy.

Diplo's Hold Tight version is truly awesome. Crisp and clear voice. Not overproduced. I think you all gonna hear it soon. Maybe after the realese.

  8. Am I the only one who's missing the so called dated Avicii sound in Rebel Heart, Wash All Over Me and Borrowed Time? Was the change really necessary? Madonna did hits with already dated sound in the past... :stare: Overall, I like the album, hope it sounds much better on CD. Nas' intervetions in Veni Vidi Vici are out of place from time to time but the track is great in its own, would be a perfect interlude in the next tour, I don't see Madonna rapping anymore to be honest, she wasn't even able to remember the Hollywood verses during the AL promo lol! Improved tracks for me: Hold Tight, Joan of Arc, HeartBreakCity, Body Shop, Messiah, and Beautiful Scars. I think I need some more time to digest the others, but the ones I mentioned were the first to impress me.

I'm still hoping she plays the demo verison of Rebel Heart in the live performances :monkey:

No, I miss them like crazy. I have made my own Super Deluxe Edition with 31 tracks. Replaced Devil Pray, Hold Tight, HeartBreakCity, Wash All Over Me, Rebel Heart and Borrowed Time with Avicii and Diplo's finals. Some haven't leaked yet. The album is a masterpiece this way.

And I really don't see his sound as dated. She would have two smash hits with both Rebel Heart and Wash All Over Me here in Europe. They would have been her new Hung Up and Sorry. They will never be as huge in that reworked form. Just mark my words with that one. Rebel Heart Album Version will sink as a stone and WAOM can't be a single now. And the overproduced Hold Tight is such a mess. Her amazing voice, the pre-chorus and that wonderful MNEK end is all gone from Diplo's production.
