Definitely a lost art!!  I have to agree about the Like a Prayer era through Erotica being some of the very best.  My best friend and I started collecting together, and I remember the thrill of discovering (at the time) cassette maxi singles (Justify My Love was my first).  And then we found Keep it Together on CD (I still have it, and I didn't even have a CD player at the time, lol.  And then we found a magazine called Madonna Into the 90s which had photos of a lot of the earlier single covers and thinking that I would never be able to find them.  Over time we discovered resources like record shows and Goldmine magazine, and slowly but surely building our collections from there...  Thanks for this thread, those were some wonderful days with some wonderful memories.  Feeling nostalgic now, lol!

Before the digital age made physical singles a thing of the past, it was a joy and pleasure as a Madonna fan finding singles at the CD section of a store, in second hand shops, listening to the remixes of the accompanying single, the artwork and B-Sides and excluded tracks used as bonuses. I know the fanbase has its world of collectors who are knowledgeable in the different versions, editions with different artwork and rare versions of tracks released. What are some of your favorites and some your own?  Tried to create a different type of thread from "If Madonna did this, what would you change" threads? Feel free to post your own stories of your collection and pics if you'd like.

For me, it was always the Express Yourself run up until Rain singles that seemed to stick out to me. Seeing the brunette Madonna on Express Yourself single art, the inclusion of Supernatural on Cherish, the different mixes to Justify My Love and others. Not to mention how despite some being video shots of previous works managed to make it look iconic. See "Vogue" using an "Express Yourself" photo. I remember buying the Erotica maxi single and getting a huge poster of Madonna from a Meisel shoot included with it.

Sorry if this was obvious to most people, but I only just realised yesterday while watching the uncensored version again.
The toilet cubicles show different people from various backgrounds divided by walls, all living in their shitholes. They are annoyed, uncomfortable and frustrated to be contained by these imaginary borders. Madonna carves a rally call "Protect Me", she is ready to take charge for change and needs everyone's support. All of them start to get riled up, Madonna and the others try to get out of this imaginary box but fails and expresses dismay.
Finally, Madonna kicks the door open. The answer to leave these divided walls was always such a simple action, but everyone was holding back. One brave soul decides to break out of this box, and everyone follows. At the start there is some friction and conflict between these strangers from different backgrounds and beliefs, but everyone is bound by the same purpose now. And so they left the shithole of a situation they were in and decided to fight for change.
    Lemme know your thoughts!!!

Some of my favorites!  And it just shows how out of touch Guy O. is if he walked out on her after playing them, both of these songs are brilliant.

I always thought there should have been more b-sides throughout Madonna's discography. It could have been a perfect excuse to keep on releasing physical singles and therefore generating more interest in buying them. Her bloody labels could have prevented us from downloading rare songs illegally for years.
Songs that should have been b-sides include: Shame, Your Honesty (though we got it in 2003 but extremely out of place in that EP), Revenge, Arioso, Like An Angel Passing Through My Room, Liquid Love, Miss You, Cool Song, Triggering, Latte, Animal, ETC!)

SEX for sure because it proved what she was saying was true. A woman who owned her sexuality and did it on her terms was off-putting and would be slut shamed but it would have be fine if through a man's perspective. Men and the world didn't seem to mind sexualization as women as long as they were pretty, mute beauties on magazines or controlled by men (Playboy, other works) but Madonna, brazen, bold and saying what she wanted bothered people that a woman could match men and not be apologetic about it.

I don't know how anyone can prejudge a show they haven't seen in person? Every person here and elsewhere who has seen it has raved at how good it is. I take their opinions seriously verses those going on with a lot of hate who haven't seen it.
Also, I'd never trust a low quality balcony snippet of one song performance either. But, like every show, they'll be some performances we all love and others not so much, but, that doesn't mean we should write the whole show off as it being the worst.
Also, I look at this show as something special and rare before a massive greatest hits arena tour in the future. I don't know, but, I plan to just enjoy the ride and whatever Madonna has planned ... through the good and the bad, whether I agree or disagree with her( i.e.: on politics, her career choices, the Polaroid idea, letting live nation play a game and taking advantage of us with ticket sales), etc...and just be thankful she's still here and wanting to create and perform. No matter what, she will always be the greatest artist and entertainer to have ever lived and the one I have enjoyed the most. Peace All. Xxxx

Especially when you consider her entire catalogue.  To be fair, there aren't that many bad songs considering how many she's recorded, but to have those 2 songs among the worst 15?  Crazy talk!  I know musical taste is subjective and all, but that means that 12inch likes Celebration, Hey You, and Turn Up The Radio more than the songs on his list. (Just teasing you 12inch, everyone has their own favorites ?)

Thank you. Yes, I have this song. I really like it. However, it’s soo obvious to me that it has nothing to do with coffee. “Buck (Timbaland), could you be possibly any dumber?” ... “No, i don’t think I could.”

Up Down Suite is amazing!!  Man, some of you guys and gals are just wounding my heart, lol.    OK, here's mine, in no particular order...
    1) Spanish Lesson
    2)  Take A Bow
    3) I Love New York
    4) Miles Away
    5) Autotune Baby
    6) Hey You
    7) Nobody's Perfect
    8) Turn Up The Radio
    9) It's So Cool
    10) Superpop
    11) American Pie
    12) What It Feels Like For A Girl
    13) Push
    14) She's Not Me
    15) Time Stood Still
    Dishonorable mentions go to:
    Back That Up (Do It)
Run. (These two didn't make the list as they weren't officially released).
Me Against The Music (technically she's the featured artist)
Did You Do It (she's not really on this, so I don't really consider it a Madonna song).

I listened to LAP (for the first time in quite a while tbh) on my flight home from Paris last night, when I heard the opening piano cords of 'Oh Father' I got goose bumps! Made me realise how powerful this album is.
