For the record, I’m American, French, British and Irish, and I know a lot about Canada, and the rest of the world for that matter. Anti-American stereotypes are lazy, but confirmation bias is rampant. You only see what your eyes want to see, right? Anyway…Madonna isn’t ignorant, which is why it was shocking to me, thus my comment. It wasn’t about calling her or anyone else dumb.

Not many, just a few on YouTube.
The difference between all the fan videos available after every European show and the lack of many videos after these first two US shows is quite... interesting. And sad, for us. I wish the US audiences were as sharing as the European ones.

Considering her Vegas residency sold out in literally minutes...yes. Can we for once not be bitchy toward another female artist, especially one that's spoken so positively about her love for M?

jstevens40 reacted to Alibaba in Boy George about Madonna
So sad that his ego has triggered the need to lash out at her publicly, but I can understand that it would be triggering to be a landmark cultural figure of the 1980s - yes, he actually was and anyone denying this simply doesn’t know their history - and to be invited backstage after attending her concert and be ignored. Let’s be honest. Madonna has a reputation for being a cunt and I don’t know why we collectively want to pretend that she’s this pious wallflower who never hurt a fly. It’s absolute revisionism to ignore that she was known to be cold and unpleasant to people since her earliest taste of fame. I’m sure she has evolved a great deal, but I’m also sure she can still be a handful from an egoic perspective. That said, who knows what Boy George has done to incur her wrath or rejection over the years? Perhaps she doesn’t feel the need to forgive him for all the awful things he’s said about her since the mid-80s. He was a heroine addict for years, and addicts can be quite cruel and show a total lack of humanity when in the doldrums of dependence. He still sees this part of himself as being part of an act, but he wasn’t in control of his life during his heyday.

Strangely, he has posted Madonna clips to his IG stores for the past few years, and as recently as 2019 he appeared on Andy Cohen’s show claiming that he was a big fan of her work and has always bought all of her records, and in 2021 he was quoted as saying he was embarrassed by his imaginary feud with her due to his addictions, blaming his hostility on his cartoon-like 80s persona. In 2014, he told The Huff Post: "I've said awful things about Madonna and I’m not proud of that at all — I’m really not proud of that because I didn’t know her."

He still doesn’t know her, but has jumped to a conclusion with her because of his interpretation of her behavior backstage at her own concert where she was probably distracted by a million things. He had expectations, and she didn’t fulfill them. Anyone who has a hint of self-awareness would acknowledge that it’s his responsibility to manage this. Expectation always leads to disappointment! Sometimes we forget that it isn’t because we’ve forgiven ourselves that others feel a need or desire to return the favor.

That’s not true. @SweetMadonnahas never said or done anything wrong. He’s not mean or hateful and nor does he instigate trouble.  He loves Madonna’s pictures, takes part in my game thread and other threads too. Like @Anapausis, he makes me smile every time.

Joni Mitchell is an extraordinary musician. She is 80 years old. She recovered from a near fatal brain aneurysm at 74 and has taught herself how to speak, move and play guitar again. She is an extraordinary talent who has written some of the greatest music of the 20th century. Whether it’s ignorance that people don’t know who the photo is of or they just think it’s funny to implicitly mock her knowingly, she deserves better.

I love it.  Would be screaming and singing along with her.  It's a concert.  She is being kind in taking the time to stream this which I'm sure is a bit inconvenience for her to do so.  So let her have her fun.  She owes no one anything. This is her experience!

Ok I really didn't care about this when she annonced it cause I was disappointed too many times in the recent years, but when I started to understand she really was going deep in the catalogue everything changed and I was so expecting it tonight.
It was great for me. The major quality of this show is her changing for the first time the whole structure. It's like a continous flow through her career, of course some parts focus the attention on specific moods and aesthetics but I did not feel the usual rigid 4, 5 acts.
The major flaw is the reference to some tracks that just did not give justice to their value, I think of Human nature especially and Papa don't preach really deserved a better treatment, when it started the arena exploded and then nothing, it's Justify my love  At the same time I found interesting the way she hinted thinks and tracks, even major ones, without properly perform them. When she stopped on something she was great.
The picks for me have been Nothing really matters, Live to tell, the Erotica/Justify/Hung up/Bad girl part, Vogue, Die another day and surely Bedtime story and Rain, even just for their presence. The most scarificed track was Like a Prayer maybe, it really seemed to lack its power, the setting was strong but the track didn't come out.
The impression is that the first and the closing parts, where she presented the dancy stuff, were not much of her interest and I understand it. Neither are mine and never did so I'm ok with it.
Costumes, special effects and stuff here are present but not the core of the show, she is all about going through the journey and I really felt like reliving it all.
Tonight I love her again, she made me meet again parts of her that kept me loyal for years and it feels like a crazy thing

Yeah i think due to the simplicity of the show, two things she can easily swap songs out and put other rehearsed songs in as she pleases and she can get through the whole tour without becoming ill again.  There could be a 2nd leg with a revised setlist like Sticky and she might do South America, ASIA AND AUS possibly.

Looks like it's a very 2020's show. Some parts reminds me to Beyonce, Taylor or Rosalia.
The ending was terrible for me but I think there are brilliant parts as the holy theme section, die another day or bedtime story. The show will look amazing watching it right there and in general LOVE THE SETLIST. C'mon BAD GIRL, BEDTIME STORY AND RAIN!!! <3
We are very lucky to have our Queen alive and doing all that amazing shit for us!
