  1. ... and yet, at least in Italy, the death of 49 gay people didn't get the same reactions that other recent massacres got. And I feel there's a concrete difference between "us" and "you" behind this wich hurts me so much. I mean, did people really feel safer or less exposed just because it happened in a gay club? Are we really so different? Or second level victims, I should think?

      There seems to be a political agenda behind all the coverage this is getting. Obviously not a justification of these horrific crimes... but ain't that always the same with the US?

      We are entering or have entered in very conservative times. Marriage equality wasnt enough to keep the window open forever. Of course the homophobia is still very much in our society wether people admit it or not.
