Yeah i mixed up with Rain because i bought the french K7 single for the Fever edit two
    https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/1989696-Madonna-Rain
It was a messy strategy because the videos were released way ahead the different singles were available in every territory so when they were finally released they felt already "old". I was there, i remember very vividly that time, thank you very much
The Fever video was supposed to promote what ? That version was neither on the album nor on the Bad Girl / Fever or Fever UK maxis (something that already happened with Express Yourself) If that isn't messy...Their different strategies did nothing for the singles and albums anywhere. That strategy was so bad that when came the Girlie Show tour she had no single on the radio (Bye Bye Baby was an obscure 12"/cd single german release only available in Europe and not played on the radio either) or new video on MTV to promote it.
It got even worse with Bedtime Stories singles after Secret. Human Nature really took the cake.

I remember howmessy the whole release was though. The fact the Fever video mix was only available on european versions of Rain, the Rain video being released way ahead of the single (i guess they wanted to push the album), Fever being released in Europe mainland at the same time, UK had a different cover for Rain and the most popular track on that release was Open Your Heart as a b-side because british car maker Vauxhall had a commercial using it at the time. I remember being a teen and going each week to the Virgin Megastore on les Champs Elysées where they had all the imports because it felt like each week there was a new version of Rain or Fever being released with a different tracklist. I remember the french K7 single of Fever being released like in august or something with the rain cover. A mess. And i still think Why's It So Hard should have been released instead of Fever because Ace Of Base released "All That She Wants" at the same time, sharing that same reaggae-ish vibe mixed with dance music and it was a major success.
I wonder how Everlast ended up on that remix (and why not Big Daddy Kane ?)

@Roland Barthesexplains the releases of Fever/Rain/Bye Bye Baby very well. In France, it was a big mess...
And the same with Express Yourself. Videos on TV and nothing in stores for EY... if it's not a mess, what is it? lol

But Human Nature was released like 3 or 4 months after the video was on heavy rotation (again the sole media still promoting Madonna at the time). And it's something Warner always did, another one was Nothing Really Matters, they killed that track by releasing the remixes too late after the video 'and grammies aired, Beautiful Stranger came out just a few weeks after the NRM remixes were released (but BS was not even a single in the US, a sure #1 they denied Madonna with that strategy)
And i still don't understand why it was that complicated to slap the Express Yourself Pettibone single remix on the b-side of Oh Father for example since it was not available and, again, the most popular version.
(and that Rain Uk cover becoming 9 months later the US I'll Remember cover)

Not on every releases. It was not available in the UK for instance. If they wanted it they had to biuy the european mainland pressing and since the Fever video was played on MTV US i bet her north and south american fans may have wanted that mix too.
I don't understand everybody's resistance, it seems logical to me.
Anyway it's ok now, 30 years later we finally have it for everybody to enjoy.
(still waiting for that EY video mix though ^^)

I'm not saying she should have used the album version in the video (the remix works better, it's more energic), i'm saying they should have made the video mix available to everybody and not randomly on various european pressings on Rain.
And Why perform (supposedly) the Abraham mix of Bye Bye Baby at the VMA's and then not putting it on the single ? If it was bad she wouldn't have used it.
Same with Express Yourself, that video mix should have been slapped on Cherish instead of the useless Cherish 12" or better yet, as a b-side to Oh Father to boost sales of the single.
I don't understand, what is wrong in wanting a mix that is the most popular and wasn't available ?
It must also be a Sednaoui thing to use commercially unavailable mixes in his videos since the same happened with the video he directed for Bjork's "big time sensuality", that Fluke minimix was not available, not even as promo, until she put it on her compilation. It was frustrating because it was superior to the album version (and still is) and all the commercially available remixes.

I think FEL is challenging in terms of remastering because the material is so all over the place and mastered so differently.
It could only be done perfectly if they went back to the multi tracks and re-mixed everything like they did for the Immaculate Collection. But that kind of work is not realistic for a 50 song compilation

It wasn’t strategic or anything. I understand what you are saying, that these stars are vulnerable to “yes” men and snakes in the grass. But all the examples you listed don’t link back to any kind of conspiracy to “destroy” them imo. Most of them are bad choices or self destruction ultimately. And the people involved in enabling it or exploiting them were motivated by their own greed, not some grand plan by the industry to destroy the person.

Maybe Madonna is victim to those same things, I don’t know, but I don’t think she’s vulnerable in the same way MJ or Britney were/are. She is still very much the one calling all the shots. And Guy O is someone that has worked with her and been a friend for a very long time, I don’t believe for a second he has any bad intentions toward Madonna whatsoever. I think Madonna fans are just unhappy with her recent output and looking for someone to blame.
I think it’s easy to overlook the reality that is staring in peoples faces. Madonna’s popularity declined when she got divorced and became overly sexualized again. Society is ageist toward women and just doesn’t respect the things she says and does and that’s a sad fact that she continues to fight against more and more  each year. It would probably be very easy for her team to change all that and have her be taken seriously again but she has to want to do that and I just don’t think she wants to make that kind of compromise. She enjoys challenging the status quo and that’s always been the case.

Like bluejean said, the leaks came from all different places. It’s not all just private email/server hacking. With the unreleased photos, the majority of those outtakes are uploaded to photo agency websites and their servers. We got many watermarked thumbnails from the Hard Candy session because they were featured on a photo agencies website. And this was a few yrs before the entire hi-res session leaked. Same with Confessions, lo-res images of about 100+ were available on one of those sites. It just takes one person to have access and to leak it all.
Are fans really that delusional that they still believe that The Daily Mail is airbrushing and leaking these unreleased photos all to make Madonna look bad?

But also, what it's saying, is that a SHIT load of footage was shot with multiple camera's - whatever length of b-roll is with people, is a fraction of what was shot!

The second Guy started managing her career it started going down the drain, with one disastrous product sign after another, Truth Or Dare Brand, MDNA Skin, Material Girl and now this latest NFT scheme that failed. The Live Nation deal ruined her career and Maverick records which was his responsibility has failed as well. Guy O is nothing and should have been fired years ago. Difficult to tell how many of these decisions are a result of his influence or Madonna simply self imploding but either way his resume as her manager looks terrible. If Guy is being criticized its because he sucks rather than some straw grasping attempt at putting it down to antisemitism.

It would be amazing if Madonna fires this Guy too, but I don't see it happening. At this point of her career, she needs a real manager, not a friend and yes-man.

That post is him projecting his own issues and nothing more. I don't follow him, so no idea what comments - but I don't think and I certainly have no issue with Madonna's body, age - but what I do find interesting and sometimes a little absurd is the over editing done by him to the point that in some posts she's unrecognizable - including shitty 'slimming' edits.

He's not wrong. But he's using this as an excuse to his awful work more than actually defend her, let's be real. If only he had actual skills in his job fans wouldn't tell him to stop lowkey giving M body dysmorphia. Also, the "disgusting" being corrected in "discussing" doesn't make me take this seriously at all  LOL

    just finished listening... my thoughts...
    1) I'm surprised that he was gushing over great the DSS title track is, bcz I met him at a fan screening of DSS about a decade ago & he was nice enough to chat with me for a few mins, and thats the 1st thing I asked about and he told me it was a horrible awful & unfinished song that will hopefully never see the light of day bcz of how bad it was. He said were not missing anything, so wjhats changed? why is it such a great hidden gem now?
    2) He mentioned that these never before heard demos are easily found to be polished up & released but said several times that madonna hasnt contacted him to give the green light or any discussion whatsoever, it seems to me with the warner re-issues coming up this would have been done already? Seems like she has no plans on including them in the new reissues if its hasnt even been discussed yet which is sad. either that or the reisuue project is far behind schedule & she hasnt even started cultivating tracks for it?
    3) the 2 guys asking the questions, big enough fans to have a podcast but not big enough fans to have ever heard Love For Tender, I Want You or Hot House Flower?!? Seems odd.
    4) Loved it, I could listen to stephen talk about madonna literally all day. what a treat!

So, what you're saying is that she's a nutcase that's not to be taken seriously due to her mental health issues?
And to say that her stunt had little impact? On what and whom exactly? Because the Church didn't crumble to pieces? But what about all those thousands of survivors of sexual abuse who have been shunned, shamed and silenced? Do you seriously think that didn't have any impact on them? What she did was more than brave. I think you highly underestimate and misinterpret the "controversy" and backlash that followed. People didn't want to hear it. They just didn't want to face the reality and unspoken truth.  We talk about "sexual violence" and "mental health issues" all the time because these are terms that can easily be brought up by the dinner table. What it really is, though, is rape and mental illness.
Sinéad herself is one of far too many people raped by the apparatus of institutionalised religion. Literally. To give a voice to the suffering of countless people, perhaps a bit of hope, a sense of representative visibility AND naming the root of all evil is never something to be taken with a pinch of salt. In fact, it should be applauded and treated with respect, regardless of one's psychiatric records, public struggle with trauma and whatever it is that makes you uncomfortable about it and made you say these heinous things.

Even if that’s the case she was still boycotted on radio, banned from the Grammys and ridiculed endlessly. Perhaps her popularity was set to decline  but there was still a massive backlash that effected her career. The publics reaction reeked of sexism and racism.

After I Found Love: #1’s Remixed, and Rebel Heart (Demo Assembly), it’s time to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Madonna’s career with a series of remastered EPs !

These EPs will be released chronologically and regularly (2 eras per week) to be enjoyed progressively. Yes, every single era got the same treatment. Let’s continue with the Erotica era. You’ll find the tracklists in the second post right below.
While these remasters were initially done and compiled by myself back in late 2020 – early 2021, new mixes (such as the Finally Enough Love ones) and quality upgrades were taken into account since then and are also present here in remastered form.

Hi everyone.  I have been avidly reading all of your comments every day since the above announcement from M Towers which seems to simply have been some bad dream I had a thousand years ago. Sadly, it is time for your uncle to share with you what shit is really going down. It's time I put in my two cents worth.
Having watched with interest our good lady's "musical" output since the ANNOUNCEMENT (TM), I have arrived at a sad realisation.
So "Madonna will personally curate" clearly means "Madonna will nod or shake her head when presented with a product" ie "yes, bitch, no bitch (shakes ass)".
"Expansive" clearly means "a few, not all (of the mixes currently available) and some previously un-released mixes eg the KIT mix on FEL and OYH video verson on FEL". Cue, Queens in TEARS (TM) and M's (ironic, go Madge!) Tears of a Clown (ie absolutely no regrets/ fcuks given yada, yada... y'all Queens buy the shit anyway.  It wasn't me anyways, it was some wannabe bitch.  Shakes ass.)
"Deluxe editions" clearly means "expensive releases" eg Everybody vinyl that y'all didn't like, WTG/CAC National Record Day release and Erotica vinyl (as someone said, what about us poor folk who only have digital listening capacity, bitch!).
"Editions for many of her landmark albums" means the continuation of the digital singles eg the recent BG/ Fever release (at long last!  Me thirty years ago would have sold my soul to the devil for such content; now, I'm like "oh yeah?" *boils kettle)  Notice that it is FOR many of her landmark albums and not "OF her landmark albums" ie NO expanded box sets with nice booklets and romantic musings from M or her producers 4 CDS long with unreleased HQ shit that we have all been gagging for these last 40 years.  I mean, why oh why am I nearly 48 and STILL do not OWN the original (MUCH) better version of Burning Up????
I do enjoy your good humour though.  Please keep it coming.  I'm grateful to the Madonna Infinity fam for making me feel included.  Because of all the Erotica chat these last few weeks, I have been listening to it on repeat and have really been enjoying being 17 again.  Which I NEVER thought I would hear myself say.  Lord, it was shit enough the first time.
Let's burn incense and sacrifice things at altars to try and conjure up what we are all hankering after.  Maybe then, all of the fecking albums remastered properly and with all of the available shit (mixes, instrumentals, edits, concerts, videos etc).  It should have happened YEARS ago anyway.  Shame on Madonna for not getting it out there and donating the MILLIONS of dollars this would generate to good causes all around the world.  Never mind disturbing the peace; how about being the role model you used to be and proving that love really does make the world go round.  We can make this happen, girl. The gays have got the funds, baby; you got the motion.
Much love from Scotland.  Over and Over and out. PS Steady75- you got it going on!

I would like to add something here... 🙂 This guy used to work on the record label (deConstruction) that time. He saw a proof of the updated artwork and that's the one they used after all and not the new file from the photographer. The design was done in June a month before we learned about the vinyl release.
