Why her Instagram better than her album photoshoots these days

Yes, he was behind the Rio Concert.  He does a lot of the huge business dealings for her.  And as long as he is making her cash, she isn't going to fire him.  He's only awful to some fans because her career isn't going the way some want it to be.  They assume it's his fault when we know she has the last word.  He's even stated that many times.  The thing is, Guy isn't like the past managers... he's mainly her "business manager".  He gets things done.  His job is to make her money.  And anyone who has been a fan since the beginning should know Madonna is an astute business woman herself.  She goes where the money is. 
I do not think Guy is a bad manager.  And I agree, Madonna should be and IS in charge. It's her career. She knows what she wants.  That's a huge difference between a lot of other musicians and her.  A lot of musicians aren't able to manage their career on their own. They need other people to help get things done.  And while I'm sure there is a lot of delegation going on in Madonna's career, you can bet she's the one who is giving out the orders. 
I'm sure she knows not everything she's done has been the best for her career, but in the long scheme of things, she's done pretty damn well. She's still one of the biggest sought out mega stars out there... especially when there aren't many "mega stars" left.  Also, I know that the music industry isn't as kind to older musicians, so the usual avenues to get artists played and popular is harder for older artists, no matter how great their work is.  There are plenty of older artists still making great music. In fact, the Rolling Stones last album is fantastic and I have not doubt that if they were under 30, that album would be played all over radio and been even more successful than it has been. 

These remixes were specifically created for a few scenes in an action movie, not for listening at home while doing other things. The remix is almost identical to the original, with a few added beats and an 'epic' ending to fit the movie (oh, and a new re-recording of the chorus)

I personally think it's just a marketing strategy based on the interest it's been getting and keeping the song tied specifically to her catalog.  Again, I don't believe the momentum behind the song has been lost or past.  To me, this playlist came just in time.  They are milking the cow here.  Extending its legs.  Now if they did this two months from now, I would totally agree with what you're saying. 
 

I don't believe it's past it's "peak".  Also,  I don't think it's as diabolical as some are trying to make it out to be.   What's obvious to me is that, she and her team made sure the song was singled out, and are making people actually stream and search out her own catalog for the song, rather plopping it on the actual soundtrack.  And now releasing an EP just of the two soundtrack score versions along with the album version.  It's actually a clever strategy as I'm sure she probably gets paid more if people are streaming/listening from the parent albums that the song is part of (whatever version it is) as well as this new EP.
Not that I'm shocked by your response.   Anyway, we're all just speculating.  No one really knows the reasoning behind what's happened here.  It's not as serious as some are trying to make it out to be.  Nothing is going to be lost here, because the film is still HUGE and the buzz around the song is still just as huge.  I don't believe for a second they have dropped the ball on tis one because it's still working in their favor and the song is getting great exposure.  What's unrealistic here is thinking this song is going to re-enter the charts and score a top ten again.  That ain't happening.  I say, let's just enjoy the ride.. the exposure it's getting again.  It's really not anything to sneeze at for a 35 year old song.  It's hardly an obscure song people don't know.

Erroneous! I use Spotify every day, just like a lot of people. Just because you're still stuck to your gramaophone, doesn't mean we all are. This isn't the correct thread to talk about unheard demos.

Only one exaggerating it, is you.  The woman has always worn black excessively all through her career.  It's not a big deal!   And she looks great, just like in the above recent pic!
