The movie is a blast! As long as you like the Marvel movies (if you don’t really follow them, the jokes and storylines might go over your head)
I gotta say, I was a little bummed out when the first scene with the song plays. While it’s an awesome scene, and the song is heavily featured, it didn’t stand out amongst all the other heavily featured songs throughout the movie. It was used more or less the same way the Nysnc song, and Avril song, and Grease song, and T.I. song are used. So I didn’t really get why people were saying this would have a Running Up That Hill moment.
But when it comes back for that second scene… oh man.. goosebumps! I was like oh my goddddddd. That a cappella version?! During an emotional climax?! A whole new generation of kids will forever associate this song with this movie. Thought it was great! Along with the name drop a moment later. Can’t wait to see it again!

I just watched movie and it is absolutely fantastic! And YES! Madonna's Like a prayer is THE CLIMAX of this movie for sure! The audience in the theater went wild!  And I love love love Madonna's Like a prayer and Hugh Jackman's six pack!  Perfect match!

I can imagine. Watched that zendaya tennis movie and they blasted the edm music so loudly lol. Enjoy

While I agree with everything you said, and think that Warner is definitely helping all of this happen… I did see that NSYNC (sans Justin) and Avril Lavigne also showed up to the premiere cause their old songs are included (“Bye, Bye, Bye” & “I’m With You”)

I just saw it earlier myself - I don’t know if this is normal, or if Ryan Reynolds invented them all. Do other people show up to movie premieres if their songs are included? “If I Could Turn Back Time” is in Deadpool 2, wonder if Cher showed up for that premiere 🤣

I’m trying to be sensible and not get my hopes up too high too. That said, the Celebration version’s numbers have been noticeably, consistently up a bit ever since the trailer dropped. Even the Immaculate mix has been a bit higher than usual. So who knows. 🤷‍♂️🤞

Just came back from cinema. LAP in the movie is amazing! Song is played two times and there's a little joke with Madonna in the movie.

My opinion is always the same. I can't see it as a coincidence, it's a marketing operation and has a precise signature: Warner Music.
They are getting back her credibility, thaey are using all the possible channels to make her historic tracks back to their well deserved glory. The actors of the movie are talking a lot about the song, the brilliance of the scene and her role in the improvement basically in every interview. They are asked to do so, it's part of the deal. She also went to the premiere in London, I mean ... who goes to a premiere just cause they use one of their old songs? Instead of what told in front of the cameras, Warner was probably looking for the right big movie to make an operation like this. I can be wrong of course, but I'm quite convinced this is another good marketing step, moved by her company.

You have to admit that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are promoting Madonna's song way much much much harder and more sincerely than Warner Music or Live Nation. Seriously.

 

It looks very likely that ‘Like A Prayer’ will have a massive resurgence once the movie hits cinemas. Not sure if it will be ‘Running Up That Hill’ huge, but I can’t wait to see how this pans out 🙏🏼 

Here here!  She may not be moving mountains like in her hey day, but with this and now Like A Prayer being talked about all over the media, this is definitely a good sign her back catalog is getting some love. As much as I enjoy, "Popular", I must admit that it annoys me how that song surpassed all her own solo songs on Spotify.  Songs like Like a Prayer, Holiday and Vogue all need to be her topped played songs (among many others).
