she couldn't afford another flop lead single and reggaeton was the absolute worst choice, as a matter of fact in Latin America Madonna was seen as sophisticated and reggaeton is seen as very very lowly by some people, not all of us latins like reggaeton or Maluma. A straight friend of mine said to me, why is she singing with Maluma?? she is way too good for him. The notion that Madonna debases herself with subpar work and associations have been going on for over a decade and people feel it, and Maluma was truly the last stroke. She will never have a hit ever again.

she made a lot of shows that prove you wrong, like SNL 93 and all her American Life promo.

Erotica is not a masterpiece. It could have been a really good album if all the album tracks had been scrapped in favor of the outtakes. 
I used to like Bedtime Stories until I realized it was her cynical attempt to make the critics like her, which I realized was so pathetic and made me dislike the whole thing even though Secret, Sanctuary, Forbidden Love and Bedtime Story are some of my favorite songs. 
It's interesting to see pictures of the era and how depressed she looked and utterly dead in the eyes, I wonder if she took anti-depressives? it shows her true colors, I mean did Marilyn Manson go into a 15 year long mea culpa after all the criticism he got? Made me realize she isn't a true rebel or iconoclast, she just wanted to be liked for her controversies.

I remember this from years ago but I've never found any conclusive evidence that the dogs were abused, she is disgusting anyway for simply giving them away. You do not do that.

Erotica has serious problems. This is my favorite era of her career but I am not delusional and I can see that this cd has serious problems and needed way more work just like the Sex Book and Body Of Evidence too. 
 
Her music up until that point was flawless, I love all the 80's songs but the Erotica singles were miles ahead, she took a massive leap with them, but the rest of the album is unsalvageable. 
She recently posted her stream numbers on spotify and I was shocked but not surprised that after 30 years, Erotica is still the least played album, and it is thanks to the horrible non single songs.
The fact that something like Goodbye to Innocence or Shame were left out speaks volumes.
