It's true her 1998-2000 hits are not remembered or celebrated enough, but what can you do? In a way she was so much on her own lane then (so far from the usual R&B/Pop sound then and the poptastic Max Martin Y2K type productions everyone remembers from the late 1990s and early 00s) than is almost understandable... Playlisters won't put "Frozen" or "Ray Of Light" in between the Britneys, the Christinas, the Spice Girls or Destiny's Child. Doesn't make much sense.
But every now and then someone discovers the "Frozen" video and is amazed by the artistry and the sound. I've seen posts lately on X. It happened also after the "Frozen" Sickick remix viral moment, the video and the original version grew quite a lot thanks to that.
I feel her "Ray Of Light" and "Music" eras are now for those who fall in love with her with other classic monster hits and then get to know her amazing catalogue.

We were on the way to 1m a day for the Celebration version 😭😭😭

The album version was only added to that official playlist mid afternoon yesterday, will see what kind of boost it gets after a full day on it today.
Would be wise of them to drop the movie version people on twitter keep asking for this weekend while things are going up so nicely.

Yes. Exactly. They did an initial limited run of the full 6 disc version aimed at fans. Once that sold out they repressed it nearly a year later but even that’s primarily sold on rhino’s website being that the demand for it outside of her fanbase likely isn’t huge.

It’s all very random, ignoring Dress You up, which includes tracks not already available on streaming, then giving us Cherish. The extended version of Cherish and Supernatural are available on LAP 30.
There’s been a lot of progress with getting the single discography out there, but it looks like this is going on for another year.
It would be nice if they issued Everybody with the original sleeve artwork and the tracks from the original US 12”
 
 

I’d imagine any deluxe/expanded reissues that happen at this point will look like FEL- primarily digital, with a limited physical release aimed at fans.
There are still so many copies of her reissued vinyl lps in circulation that are aimed at not just fans but casuals/gp. They’re not gonna retract all those, and I can’t imagine they’d put out competing new versions (“180g remastered at half speed” etc).
Look at Immaculate- they digitally released the dolby atmos remaster but they did nothing to change the version on vinyl. They’re still churning out the standard version.

I agree with everything but she's never been that type of artist really. Even her first big greatest hits compilation was almost remixed completely and didn't present the hits the way people fell in love with them. "GHV2" she didn't even bother. And "Celebration"... won't even go there. She's never cared about the past.
For better and worse, that "never look back" attitude is what kept her current and on top for almost three decades. As soon as she started looking back and referencing herself in her work (the 10s) everything started to go wrong.
I wonder how Warner feel about this whole new deal. Prince did them dirty when he sort of came back to them in 2014 to have two full new albums released with the promise of future reissues and celebrations (and later he would only approve a 9-track remastered by him "Purple Rain" reissue so Warner said "no" until he was sadly gone) and maybe Madonna has done the same actually... I'm sure Warner would have milked the cow (no pun intended) already if it was just their call.

How can they combine all the versions of LAP on Spotify when the Immaculate Collection version is a remix? They could just combine the album version and the Celebration version.

they did not count any streams for this certification, with streams the LAP single is at over 3.7M, so very close to 4M already

Yup. Nothing she or her team could do would do much to change how it’s playing out.
We can hope that if this movie has repeat viewing appeal then LAP will grow on some of these younger marvel fans over time. 🤷‍♂️

Honestly I can understand why "Bye Bye Bye" is getting all the attention, since it's a Y2K, classic Max Martin, classic Britney sound and that era and sound is in full nostalgia mode now. Plus it's the music the parents of the kids going to see the movie grew up with.
Not even cancelled Justin could stop it from going viral!
"Like A Prayer" is more epic and timeless, but also less instant in a way.
What a fantastic - and expensive - soundtrack, by the way.
