yes, it's her younger self. she explains it herself, especially on the October 15th show.

I think that moment is the first we see M interacting with her younger self. Then during the 90's section, we see her in other moments, like when her "Human Nature" video persona is standing with her while she sings Crazy for You or on the BAT bed doing the Papa choreo and the masturbation dance.
