The incredible stage for The Celebration Tour has been created by the entertainment architects at Stufish, a team who collaborate with Madonna since 2012 and provided designs for the MDNA, Rebel Heart and Madame X tours and other shows such as Tears Of A Clown and the performances at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards and Eurovision Song Contest final.

In a series of posts on Instagram, Stufish explain the concept behind the tour stage and also share the details for the Creative department of the show, a very helpful list considering that a tourbook for The Celebration Tour has not seen the light yet. They wrote:

This week saw the opening of Madonna’s #celebrationtour in London. After over a year in development #stufishstudio are so proud and excited to celebrate our 4th Madonna tour stage design from a collaboration from over the last 12 years. This tour celebrates Madonna’s iconic career through 40 years of music.

The concept of the stage design is a network of stages and runways inspired by the streets and blocks of Manhattan. These runways radiate from a kinetic, revolving, three layered circular stage which is inspired by a combination of the wedding cake from Madonna’s original VMA performance in 1984 and the circular form of a clock. The layers of the clock are able to rotate and lift up and down like a time machine, transporting the audience through 40 years of Madonna’s Music.
