When Madonna touches hands at concerts is it always done at specific points of the show?Can anyone list the points where she does it and if there have ever been exceptions?

Not sure if this will completely answer your questions but...

 

Before MDNA Tour, she rarely EVER touched a fan (there might have been a rare case duiring Re-Invention Tour where she touched a hand of someone in the pit of the stage). I think she realizes now how much more she can connect with us by being more intimate.

Apart from the "tongue" moment during Burning up which does not always happen, she basically touches hands during the "request/special song" moment, for instance Like a prayer or Ghosttown, when she is at the Heart Stage.

I think the first time she touched hands was at the brit awards, performing bedtime story. Which was funny because minutes before some other female singer did the same and me and my friends were all "now you see, Madonna would never do that, she's way too classy and wouldn't break the fourth wall of her artistic performance, bla bla bla" 2 minutes in there she went tapping the complete first row of the audience. It's probably round that time I stopped assuming I know what she will and won't do

She seems to do it during the second or third song, that is the first segment of the show. Maybe that's her way of saying "Hello, nice to see you."
