I contacted Live Nation because my Lisbon show was the one that was cancelled with a 45 minutes warning. And I'm from Italy. Live Nation just told me they didn't give away books at all and there was no upgrade last night (I believe you by the way, not them).

Well it's actually you who mentions "boy toys" twice in your original post along with plastic surgery (twice again), the Drake kiss and wearing grills as examples of her "awful behaviour" and how she's changed for the worse.
What nobody says is that you don't have the right to open up a topic like this. Type away. But people are also free to disagree with you (not to state the obvious). The vibe I'm getting however is that of a well-meaning family relative who criticises your life choices every Christmas but when confronted say they're only doing it out of concern and love for you.
I do take issue with your generalisations in terms of her fanbase though cause I've actually loved this era and I know I'm not alone in this. There are plenty of things I didn't care about in her career but I love this album, the videos and especially the tour (and that comes from someone whose 3 out of 4 shows were cancelled, 2 last minute in Lisbon and 1 in London).

I get you but when has that ever worked? How are you meant to come up with something "fresh" when working with people from almost 40 years ago? Have you heard recent productions by Nile Rodgers or Giorgio Moroder for example? Nothing groundbreaking there, truly. I actually think Madame X was fresh, new and exciting - it's her most interesting - and in my option best - album since American Life. I can't actually believe she's still got it in her creatively so far into her career.
To come back to the main topic - maybe the problem isn't Madonna but our expectations of her. We all seem to have a different idea of what she SHOULD be at this stage of her career/life and it doesn't always correspond with reality. I'm chill about it personally, her boyfriends are none of my business and neither are her face and body. People's obsession with it is genuinely baffling to me. She's still being super creative and actually seems happy - let her be. I won't be having her over for dinner anytime soon so whether she's a total bitch in person or not also doesn't preoccupy me terribly. I don't cook macrobiotic anyway .

First, I think a lot of what has been brought up can be chalked up to personal opinion.

"Career wise she always progressed in terms of ideas and you could feel an artistic evolution from her first album until American Life."
This is your personal opinion of how things are/were. In reality she has always worked with producers and artists of the time period they were in. Some are a little disguised, such as I think she plucked Mirwais to give her a Daft Punk sound, or William Orbit to give her a certain sound that was prevalent (Dido, Olive). Confessions was no different as I think she was completely inspired by by 2004 Call on Me by Eric Pridz. Hoppin on Timberlake, Timbaland, and Pharell was only natural after Justin's Future Sex Love Sounds album, Timbalands work with Nelly Furtado blowing up everywhere, and Pharrell just being the unique artist he is.

Re-Invention Tour and the Confessions era was her "damage control" phase and worked for her.
Says who? Reinvention Tour was hardly safe, and to categorize Confessions as just 70's disco is delusional.

"How did we go from this to wearing grillz",     Erotica gold tooth?
"dating boy toys,"      Dennis Rodman, Tony Ward, 2 Pac, Warren Beaty, Vanilla Ice, The Kennedy brother,
"that Drake kiss,"        The Britney kiss???
"Bitch I'm Madonna phase,"   a good phase if you ask me
"whatever she did at that VMA award where she told that Aretha Franklin story that went nowhere while dressed like...that."
Let her feel her fantasy girl. She's 60 and inspired! Im half that and uninspired most of the time.
"Going completely unprepared to Eurovision."   Have you ever heard her sing THAT bad before? You don't think that MAYBE just MAYBE she had a sound problem and couldn't hear herself?

And yes, she is different. I think her priorities have changed. Her kids are first. As much as YOU care about her legacy or her image, I can guarantee that she could give 2 fucks about that especially if she's focusing on her kids.

So much more to write. So little inspiration to keep on....

P.s. None of this is meant to be rude.

I agree the "Confessions" era stans have a completely different point of view about her.
And yes, she became human. I liked the mystique but at the end of the day, i still adore the woman. The tour was amazing, the album was amazing. That it what matters at the end of the day, at least to me.

    Life happened ?‍♂️
I think her post 2007 self is very similar to the early 90s with lots of acting out and driving people away. It's just that back then she "cleaned up her act" and made good choices, had good breaks and was able to have a comeback. That hasn't happened in the last 10+ years. I guess W.E./MDNA were supposed to be a strategic move but it didn't work out as both had mixed reception, after that it's been an album with a lot of wait and without any build up every 3/4 years while the internet-era press eviscerates her for being human.
I guess my point is that not being able to have a lucky break in so long hasn't been fun for her, at least she still puts out great music, great videos and great shows, which is more than enough for me.

The post-2006 mega-stans seem to often use the argument that her divorce and Hard Candy-onwards was just Madonna returning to form, since her English Housewife era was the "restrained and unhappy" Madonna.
To those fans I'd like to ask -- If that's the case, let's say she didn't meet Guy Ritchie? Where would her career have gone?
I've also noticed a substantial difference in how she used to perform -- She seems so much less confident nowadays. She used to absolutely nail the facial expressions, the confidence, and rhythm. Confessions is the type of show I would have predicted she'd still be able to put on nowadays. It was mostly posing, lots of walking, and the occasional dance break, much like Madame X today. The difference is that she's missing the production, the flow / storyline, innovative mixes, creative team, and overall "X Factor" that she once had on stage. I can't remember what other member it was here (or maybe another forum), but to the person who said "I still love her but no longer feel that same starstruck, larger than life feeling seeing her", I agree. There's something just....different about her as a star nowadays. Almost like the mystique is all gone.
Part of what defined Madonna as this larger than life star is that she was untouchable and bold, even in the darkest of times. Maybe the divorce was what she felt was her first real "failure" in her life, causing her to stumble and lose that perfect image along the way that so much of the General Public / fans used to adore? Dare I say she became human to a lot of us?

Thats like looking at the Madonna from “Lucky Star”, and seeing the Madonna from “Erotica” and asking “What happened to her?”.
Madonna’s just done something alot of us fail to do: evolve.

Fourth time lucky! I think this show is absolutely extraordinary and incomparable to anything she’s ever done. It’s really beautiful, interesting, poignant and clever. My attention didn’t wander at all, was lost in every detail from start to finish. She’s never sounded better and you can hear she is live throughout the whole show - where I was sitting (upper circle) you could hear her live voice clearly in every song (people around commented on her sounding great too). She’s also never been more relaxed, fun and loose in concert. I did think she was careful on her legs and her moves were a bit measured at times but that didn’t take away anything from the performance. I’m super happy and feel very lucky to have been able to see it. It’s probably not for everybody - I couldn’t ask for more personally. We’re not worthy of this woman, truly.
Fun bit - she did say at one point about having recorded Don’t Cry For Me Argentina that maybe she didn’t sound like Patti LuPone but she definitely sounded like Madonna Veronica Louise Ciccone.
