But sound quality is more than great, surprisingly good for a picture disc!

BringUrLUV reacted to deathproof in Erotica Picture Disc Reissue - October 21, 2022
Mine just arrived! Like others, the corners came bent, the sticker looks so worn out! Amazon really did not do the best at packing this, they just threw it in a package without protection and let it get tossed around 😭

What I’d love is a release of all the promo singles on double vinyl with gatefold covers and on color vinyl.
Erotica US Promo - gold vinyl
Deeper Promo - clear/silver vinyl
Fever UK Promo - Orange vinyl
Rain German Promo - Teal Vinyl
Bye Bye Baby German Promo - White vinyl

BringUrLUV reacted to Sultrysully in Career 40th Anniversary - Oct 6th,1982-2022
I think that Erotica will be the first re-release but maybe the fortieth year will be too great of an achievement to bypass. I do think that an announcement will be made. I hope that she at least releases a digital EP of Everybody to commemorate the occasion. She could release a digital release with tge physicals to follow a lot of artists are doing that now. It helps with leaks and such.

We might be getting more. This is just a Record Store Day item. Fun but certainly not the "expanded, personally curated" selections to come.

Everything that needed to be said was said in this locked thread a fortnight ago. I greatly respect Madonna Infinity's moderation work, but I think the original thread should be linked and not forgotten, for better or for worse, like it or not. It is always good to learn from past mistakes. Both us and the other party (M's staff, Emily or whoever, you know...).

BringUrLUV got a reaction from Sultrysully in Music Vs. American Life (The battle of Mirwais)
Music
but in many ways they're pretty equal when you level it all out. They're such different albums

I actually think the "Madame X" strategy was quite good a total fan service. For the first time in... forever? they really adapted to whatever was happening and thought it was going to do better. I didn't see it as messy but smart: taking advantage of the new digital world where you can update plans according to what's working or not.
"MDNA" and "Rebel Heart" all got their three singles planned right from the start, at least with "Madame X": she got to do whatever she wanted to do, singles and videos wise, and covered a lot of bases, actually.
Maybe "God Control" was considered as the first single before "Medellín" was even recorded (when was that? Late 2018 or early 2019 for sure), but it was wise not to go ahead with it, it would have been another "American Life" single situation.
I loved the lighter and fun start with Maluma. It was a great introduction to the whole album.
"Crave" was chosen as a single cause "Medellín" wasn't doing that much, yes, but also cause US radio gave it very positive feedback. Actually it did quite well on US radio, it was #11 on Adult Contemporary, her biggest hit there since "Frozen". Sadly that didn't translate into a commercial hit anywhere else, but at least they tried.
We got 5 official proper music videos for the album, 6 if we count the "I Rise" montage. 4 proper singles with remixes and 2 promotional singles.
She really loved that album and it showed.

BringUrLUV reacted to ChrisK in OFFICIAL: RSD Black Friday is just "Everybody" single reissue. Big Deal. But Mariah is doing a deluxe reissue of “Butterfly” with 8 bonus tracks. Now THATS a QUEEN! 🌈
Wow. Is it a full moon? Did we all take a bad trip? Why are we having such a melt down - it's a fucking RSD release - get over it. Don't like it, don't buy it. Want something else? Lobby Guy O.
I've said this before, and I will say it again, you can disagree with a decision for artwork, you can say you don't like it - but do not personally attack the person who created it.
If I witness this behavior - I will not hesitate to be more liberal with the ban function.

It’s great that they’re recognising the 40th Anniversary of ‘Everybody’ for RSD.
I hope I’m right here…but I have a feeling that they’re holding out on the unreleased remixes and Danceteria stuff for the Album Reissue.

So while it’s fantastic news that we are getting the repress of the Erotica picture disc, are we to assume that there will be no album reissue to go with it?

Actually from this article it looks like EVERYBODY was a last minute addition.
PA is said to be most likely included, no mention of Everybody.
(BTW I always felt that three songs from the first album in sequence on side A were too many)

Yeah, it's indeed a slow dance track but a very good one. :D
And it's cool to know that disco evolved into the 80s dance pop genre, which has inspired a lot of songs now in terms of production.
