I found this petition online and it already has a few thousand signatures. Is there someone here who runs a Madonna page on Instagram? We should advertise this and make it trend like they did for Bedtime stories. It maybe won't accomplish anything but it will send a message to the right people.
    Help me make this big!

Forgot to mention from the 4th  - this made my partner and I giggle at the time and is becoming a catchphrase between us round the flat since returning home
as Madonna was sitting down to the typewriter at the start of Medellin in deadly silence a really enthusiastic girl from one of the upper levels screams out
“Whoo! Whoo! Type it girl! Type it girl!”

From Bowling at Madonna Tribe. Her pain sounds worse than ever  ?
    So back from the show,
Radio edit after a very nice warm up from the band , we took our seat front row when they just started.
First row is definitely NOT the best seat in the house, anything from row 1 to 5 is too close and I mean it.
Yes you get to see her up close BUT she was so not at ease, she s in pain, she s exhausted and after few minutes even my parents look at me with that expression “what is going on”
You could almost felt everybody wondering will she go through the show and she did. But in a bad mood, from pain, exhaustion, and especially after the Polaroid won by a German girl. Someone say something anti German and her expression was terrible. She said” I heard that every country had bad history or history involved tyran so don’t lecture anyone” followed by a long pause and looking aggressively in the audience.
Same when she told the story about Celeste passing away an italian girl next to me said “hun?” Like she didn’t understand. And same Madonna stopped, looked at her and answer her with a stone face and aggressive tone . “It meant she died”. It was awkward... and again a weird long pause :starring at the girl....
There was a lot of love and scream from fan I guess but not enough, she complained about the audience being half asleep. We were not enough so she kinda switch to the auto pilote mode for a while.
She warmed a bit when the whole fado section got wild reaction.
My parents and brother didn’t especially notice the bad mood but they did notice her pain and exhaustion.
What was incredible was her voice, never ever I ve heard sing like that. EVER.
Especially la vie en Rose. Through the roof. Jaw dropping performance. So was extreme Occident.
Now to adress the elephant in the room she is beyond exhausted. Compare to Chicago she was the shadow of herself.
Yes it’s admirable she keep on going but the pain is too obvious now, there something unhealthy for everybody in the room at this point imho.
The dancers looks worried, m look worried at every step she take, the audience was worried about her pain.
It create a weird atmosphere, probably the people in the row far back wouldn’t notice but for us at front row, we could see the eyes contact, the subtle interaction between them. And M facial expression. She had a dancer holding her hand or close to her almost all the time. After butaka dance she seat next to one of the lady, the last one took her hand to comfort her and M was making again that face of someone being in so much pain :-/
M missed her come alive entrance with incomplete costume , her lap entrance and at the end of lap she was almost crying.
I don’t know what to make of this night. It was emotional, brilliant brave, awkward and painful all at the same time.
I don’t how to express it better.
Since it’s the second radio edit in a row I Think it would be the case until the end.
I have 2 more shows to attend, when I told my parents she has all those remaining shows to do they ask “how she s gonna make it?”
Don’t take this review as a negative one, it’s not, it’s just what I felt being so close to the stage and the whole energy coming from it.
I guess people not as close had Probably different feeling. But imho was not her best performance, not her best night, not her best crowd, but probably her best voice EVER...
So bittersweet is the word to describe that night even if my guest had a blast, I for one was worried and sorry for her many times.

Sorry I don't agree with the whole "Best lead single since" because the same was said for Living For Love until it became the norm to think it's terrible, etc when in reality people were excited and happy her lead at the time was a solo song without a feature resembling a sound she popularized. That's the only issue I have when it comes to propping some singles over others and feeling Rebel Heart wasn't a solid effort. Granted, "Medellin" took a while to grow on me but it definitely did it's job. It had Maluma, whom I dislike, to gain traction on social media, streams, notice due to his fame and was her take on what the trend was/is at the time. Thankfully, the album offers a lot of delicacies for the fans to ingest. To go from Dark Ballet, God Control, Extreme Occident, I don't think the era offered missed opportunities other than possibly exploring the concept of Madame X as a character. Medellin was the safest bet for a decent charting single aside from the other features. "God Control" would have just stirred controversy but it was no Hung Up of this era as some fans like to think it would be. We also would have expected a strictly disco album and then wondering why the rest of the album was tonally different.

With Madame X, I would have liked an exploration of the character with each song or video tying into an overall story as it was originally hinted as but it seems the concept was dropped or was never truly going to be explored. Thankfully, we got "The World of Madame X" documentary which is a good companion piece to how the album was conceived, more backstage footage of the shoot, the album production, life in Lisbon and hearing her speak about the music. The promotion may have not been everyone's cup of tea but we did get a MTV video premiere which felt like the old days when videos mattered and were an event, interviews where she did open up (I Heart) and good performances (tour, BBMA's, etc). The album isn't supposed to be as accessible as maybe MDNA or Rebel Heart were but indeed feels more like a creative risk she took and I applaud she's still focusing on the unknown versus resting on her legacy and giving the hits like so many fans seem to clamor for. She also spoiled us with multiple videos and remixes this era that we have to determine what was a single and what wasn't. Getting a track every week until the album's release, videos for songs we never thought we'd get, album tracks given a remix treatment. Sure, the era is no Rebel Heart or Confessions in terms of overload promotion but she did give us a lot of goodies before the album and after the album promotion cooled due to the tour.

The only issues I have with are the tour itself and hoping she heals from her injuries given the nightmare it has been for fans to have their shows cancelled, altered and I would have preferred the tour had been cancelled or rescheduled without her health being compromised or risk of being damaged even further. Late times, the lottery etc have been discussed and debated to death along with the use of vocal effects. While I may not like the tour itself or certain aspects of the album, I feel the album did its job and given the current climate for promotion, releases and exposure that Madonna has adapted the best she could to this new climate. Multiple videos, a great album, a decent tour and trickling the goods to prolong an era even while dealing with issues beyond her control.

Like everyone else, I'm frustrated at the lack of any anniversary/expanded/box-set/celebratory anythings from Madonna.
For The Immaculate Collection's 30th anniversary this year, I knew we weren't likely to get anything nice, so I designed something myself and put it out in the universe to see what would happen. Tadaaaa.

I don’t want a greatest hits and I certainly don’t think she will tour for a long time now seeing as how ill this tour has made her
now that her contract has expired ( although what does that mean in today’s music standards ? ) I feel she should rest up and maybe look back and start to finally release some box sets of CDs and dvds and blu rays to coincide with the inevitable Madame X tour release - everyone is talking about the 30 year anniversary of her most iconic tour and song (BA and Vogue ) plus it’s the 35 year anniversary of the virgin tour - her first ever tour which still has not been released in full but god knows if that’s even in the archives anyways ? I would love Pat Leonard to work on all this 80s demos stuff as he was her main producer in this era and he’s very quiet lately ?
other than this she needs a rest ??

People handle divorces differently. Sure, she put on a brave face but imagine the rumors that your husband is cheating and then takes a huge wad of your hard earned money that your publicist releases the amount due to the bragging from Guy's family. He's also showed his true colors in the whole Rocco situation, cropping David out of photos etc. She has mentioned many times he didn't like some of the things she did or said regarding her career so she compromised. She shrugged multiple projects, moments and seemed to have compromised with him. Sure, her work post Ray of Light was great but her marriage influenced (along with Kabbalah) a lot of her material. She toned down her image but once the divorce happened, she seemed to stopped regretting things like SEX and no longer wanted to be an English dame.
The Aretha thing at the VMA's was winged because it was given to her at the last minute and she did what she could to do so. As for the outfit, well you do know she was spending time in multiple places and was showing appreciation for cultures she came across. Let's not act this is the first Madonna has done this especially in this very transparent and hypocritical SJW phase. As for the boy toys, grillz and other things, well it isn't that off radar to what she had done prior. Gold tooth, dating models and other men and stunts isn't new to Madonna. We're no one to judge her relationships as long as their legal and not harming anyone. Clearly, she doesn't think marriage is good for her and what's the harm in a partner, good sex and a good family unit for her kids. Eurovision was a mess but let's not forget she didn't deliver at BBMA's and disregard all the good she did during the HC, MDNA and RH eras where she killed performances, interviews and such. Seems to be baiting for the sake of pointing out the bad versus the majority she has given to us. I'm critical of Madonna but to say she didn't give good vocal, choreography wise performances despite her slowing down during the RHT is pretty much selling her short.
Madonna has always toured new material from the very beginning. Songs were always from their supporting albums that created half the setlists or more so it's nothing new. To complain and think she's Cher or some other artist who does the same GH set for every tour is a reach. It only seemed to be GH in her early shows because those songs came from the records at the time. I don't know, you guys want Madonna to tour the same songs again and again but also want her to push her creativity and artistry - she does a mix of both. I'd rather she continue doing inspired sets rather than simply going the cliched route of trotting out Lucky Star, Holiday to people who couldn't care less unless they hear the hits and begin bashing her the very next day. Was there not criticism of how boring and uninspired songs on RHT were despite being dusted off for the public? It's the album version and not reinvented were the criticisms. I've learned the fanbase is fickle and never content. The one thing is yes, I wish Madame X had her natural voice and didn't rely on the tricks as she knows she has a good singing voice.
Instagram is easy to target because it is SHE responding. Most of the time you had Liz Rosenberg and others speaking to the press and media while she handled the music, TV interview junket side. I wouldn't be surprised she responds out of anger or frustration of what she reads said about her, her looks, how irrelevant and washed up she is from people and her own fans. She's evolved and changed through the years like any human being will and does things that will either be a hit or miss as a person but that's the beauty of her. Had she done what the public always wanted and craved, you could honestly have kissed her goodbye and gone to some fair in Chicago with other 80's acts. I may not agree with her choices or artistic ventures but it's the risk she takes that has kept her relevant and afloat the music industry along with the hard work, talent and foresight. To simply diminish her decades of struggle, exploration and endurance over silly features, facelifts or whom she dates is rather an unfair criticism to the woman.
What's next? Quite frankly I don't want her to go the lazy route and perform a greatest hits show simply to regain public favor that will drop once her body slows even more or god forbid health issues arise. I would rather continue seeing the Madonna I know, the one who takes risks whether they rise or go down like a lead balloon, challenging people through music, visuals, themes and subjects and continue paving the way for performers that will no longer be judged by age. I mean look at the acclaim and praise J-Lo and Shakira got! To say there aren't things that can't be improved on is untrue. I wish she'd take voice lessons to bring out her voice that shines during moments on tour, certain performances, push her in finding new talent and producers no one has worked with or are under the radar and show the fickle GP and fans alike, she's still a force to be reckoned with. There's also the truth to be faced that she is 61 years old and will be getting older and biology doesn't spare anyone. If you're expecting MDNA Tour Madonna or BAT Madonna, I would hope you realize she probably will not hit that bar again choreography wise but that doesn't mean or say she is any less of a performer.
She needs a publicist like Liz again to handle bumps in the road and shoot down the rumor mills or people who come after her as flawlessly as Liz used to. It wouldn't hurt to also honor the show start time (within reason, an hour post opening act) and perhaps down the road negotiate with Warner in regards of proper reissues, DVD/BR sets of her tours, videos and remastering her work for today's standards.

Let's sit down guys cause this is going to take a while and i'm about to vent a bit:
I was just watching Oprah's 1998 interview and then the Live Earth performance from 2007 for the first time in years...and i was thinking about how she looked like a completely different person back then. Not just physically, but her attitude as well.
I also realized...it was the last time we saw old school Madonna on stage with no major cosmetic surgery and before the drama hit her marriage, before Hard Candy, before S&S tour and before she was considered to be "following trends instead of creating them" as people say. She was just...so cool and confident on that stage! Amazing vocals, dancing 100% of the time, choreo on point. That's who i fell in love with.
A lot is said about how Guy Oseary taking over changed things...and even though i agree, it's also okay to point out how this was the point Madonna as a person changed, right? Am i alone in this?
What do you guys think happened at the end of that marriage that shaped Madonna to being the person she is right now? She literally went from being an english housewife that writes children books and has a british accent to excessive plastic surgery, dating boytoys, an overall less secure person than before to the point she's not even comfortable on letting her ego share a talk show with other people. I mean...her Graham Norton show appearances even from 2012 to 2019 are night and day honestly.
Career wise she always progressed in terms of ideas and you could feel an artistic evolution from her first album until American Life. Re-Invention Tour and the Confessions era was her "damage control" phase and worked for her. Why? She knew she had to deliver. Thinking only about herself and her artistic growth wouldn't get her anywhere and this IS a business after all. She was still modern, but doing 70's inspired disco music and that attracted multiple generations but everyone thought she was the coolest. i remember it so well. It was also the first Madonna era i was a fan of hers. My parents loved her, i was almost 18 and loved her. My cousins weren't even 10 and loved her.
How did we go from this to wearing grillz, dating boy toys, that Drake kiss, Bitch I'm Madonna phase, whatever she did at that VMA award where she told that Aretha Franklin story that went nowhere while dressed like...that. Going completely unprepared to Eurovision. How bad her vocal preparation was for that and even the BB Awards performances, and most of all...how unprofessional she became?
She was going through hell during S&S in 2008 and somehow she always kept it professional. Yes she could start a show like half an hour after its initial time...but nothing major.
How did we go from that stadium tour to  a theater tour that couldn't be worse organized, from that lottery program, to delayed shows at the start of the tour, then each city, then cancellations 3 hours before showtime, to Madonna saying she's being censored by the UK's curfew? Like...she's been performing there since the 80's. She always did her shows because she showed up on time. How can she not realize all this?
I always loved her, and i think i always will...but Madonna since Eurovision has been even harder to be...likable, even as a diehard fan. Never in a million years i ever expected Madonna to perform to an audience of over 200 million people completely unprepared like that.
Is she really living in such a bubble that she doesn't realize everything bad she's doing to her career?
Has she been told so many times how great she is, she actually started to believe she was? She was always great at this business because she knew her strengths and lows...which right now...she doesn't. Speaking of which...i won't even mention the fact she went on doing a stadium tour in 2012 with basically album tracks (and hits completely changed from their original versions) from an album that didn't sell 2 million copies. Just 4 years before, she did a stadium tour and of course...she did hits. You NEED to know your audience. Somehow...she doesn't anymore.
And yes she was always bitchy, sometimes cocky, always had a dry and sarcastic sense of humor, that's still there to this day. But she was always a pro. A hard working pro. And we could always count on her to deliver and she was always the best at doing that.
Now she can still be...after waiting for hours...in venues with no AC on, after we stressed for months over lottery programs, canceled shows, reschedules, etc.
We also started to witness her victimizing herself more and more. Yes ageism exists...but you can't blame everything on sexism, ageism, etc. Look how she handled the SEX era. Watch those interviews from back then. She outsmarted everyone by being witty and confident. Now she cries on instagram. What happened?
What do you guys think about all this? And please, if you're pretending "this is the same madonna as always"...let's not fool ourselves. She's a totally different person and it's okay to admit. I love her and will always. That's why this is a bit hard to witness. Even harder to see her vocals being so amazing right now. Where was all that before Eurovision? Madame X album recordings (it's clear she had no vocal training before doing this record), etc?
Do you think all we need is a better team?
What's next for her? What do you still expect from Madonna?

There are huge penalties for the venue if they go past curfew apparently. I can kind of see both sides. Personally I think 11pm is too early, if residents live near a popular established venue the law should fall in favour of the venue as no doubt it was there before any of the residents. In other places this wouldn't happen, if you wanted peace and quiet you wouldn't move close to a busy street where there are theatres, bars etc. Why is it she has this problem there and nowhere else?
