I’m sorry but the remix is amazing and quintessential Madonna. One of the very few high points of that messy tour

I  re-edited mine with cut out the 2:14 to 2:30 part like you want, but not the same for the rest (the 2nd bridge disappeared), because I had reegalised the sounds to corrected the original mix and have no patience to rework it.

No, the story is: There were five Madonna videos already on power rotation on MTV, and Warner Bros did not want the audience to be saturated with any new video. Hence, Warner decided to use the shots from the film and made a music video for the song. MTV didn't create any video.
