The Official M new Music SPECULATION thread π
topic replied to steady75's nikolica in News β Discussion
Artist do this ALL the time. Michael Jacksons whole career had songs that were recorded sometimes 15 yrs before. Prince was the same. Artists like Gaga write stuff for their next album while on tour with their current album because that's where their creative juices are flowing most. Production tweaks happen later. Writing is different to production and even so can be updated later. That been said if it's an 80'd inspired song that decade isn't going anywhere or evolving so I think she's good. . -
Iβd love the Human Nature video edit

A frenetic and confusing era. So much happening in the most chaotic album campaign she's ever delivered. Literally everything she touched turned to gold. I was thinking of happen Chappel Roans success with Good Luck Babe has ignited an interest in her debut album to the point where the songs from it have started charting long after the album was released and she'd moved on. Much like Madonna /The First Album especially in the UK. I love dick so much but Madonna in 1985 Desperately Seeking Susan is the sexiest woman I've ever seen on this planet. I love her 1986 + lean look but those puppy fat years were everything. I think the straight men would agree. Curvy, just got out of bed Madonna is pure sex. Her purest incarnation and one I wish had gone on a little longer tbh.

What two Madonna albums sound good when played together?
topic replied to steady75's Tudors in News β Discussion
I think my over ruling feeling when pairing albums or even looking at albums is their colour and whether they are warm or a cold album a summer album or a winter album. Spring / Summer albums True Blue Ray Of Light MDNA Confessions I'm Breathless Music You Can Dance Autumn / Winter Albums Erotica Bedtime Stories Like a Prayer Rebel Heart Madame X American Life Who's That Girl OST Madonna and Like A Virgin are weird. They have an icy detached coolness about them but the bops Bopp so it feels like summer. Hard Candy is shit summer where it rains constantly. I know there is some Icy cold house vibes on Erotica but there's such a mix of cold and warm on that record. It really is a fucking masterpiece. -

Wouldn't it be an absolute hoot if the previously unreleased tracks were two that we genuinely know nothing about just like when Your Honesty was released on R&R

Who is tuning in to watch Madonna win? Who is tuning is to see Taylor win? It's all about viewer numbers and while Madonna might get a viral clip or two for a stunt Taylors fans will bring the viewers in. It's simple TV economics. Awards shows are not what they were. Don't sweat it.

Like A Prayer & Erotica is such a random shout. Where is the through line sonically and thematically? -

The buckle she chose is so severe. It supposed to denote a hollowing? Not be an absolute gauge out of your face. I get so angry with her surgeons. -
It's weird because I just can't see them releasing it without all four singles being represented in some way and we've had pretty much all those versions released and they'd have to be under 5 minutes each to make the 20 min each side vinyl rule work so extended club mixes are out. Side A Secret (Demo) Take A Bow (Demo) Bedtime Story (Demo) Human Nature (Demo) Side B Id Rather Be Your Lover (Tupac Version) Let Down Your Guard Freedom Your Honestly would be the absolute troll move of the season. Even worse would be some truncated edit of a remix already available. This one is the true test girls. We'll really see how Warner and M are gonna play these re-releases or whether it will be more George Michael estate nonsense with stuff we already have.

Single Reissues Campaign - Causing a Commotion - OUT NOW

I love that short version of Holiday on the digital MADONNA album. I'd hate to lose it if they replaced with the actual version so a Holiday EP is very that for me. -
RUMOUR: New The Weeknd, Madonna & Taylor Swift collab!

I think she's done with her fruity little collabs for the queers era. Let's settle down for the long winter where we shall starve with only a Susan Nap Time vinyl and Die Another Day digital to eat on. -
If Christopher Ciccone did a Q&A what would you ask him....

Fair enough. I thought it pretty much universal that Style was pop perfection and Taylors best track. It was also sonically analysed to have the pace, melody and chord progressions that appeal to the human ear. There were think pieces on it at the time I wouldn't be able to find them now but here's a couple. https://www.metroweekly.com/2023/11/taylor-swifts-style-a-near-perfect-pop-gem-revisited/ https://www.vox.com/2015/2/19/8068789/taylor-swift-style-annotated -

I actually found Sabrinas album a bit of a tough listen. It's very 90's Destiny's Child man hater energy. It got a bit tiresome after a few tracks. -

Taylor is great I don't get the hate. Once you get past the fluff like Shake It Off, You Need To Calm Down. Me, Look What You Made Me Do there's heaps to be enjoyed. I think she does have a habit of releasing some of the worst tracks on the albums as singles TBH but the fanbase seem to make sure the best ones rise to the top through streaming like August & Cruel Summer. I wasn't convinced either at first but her voice is lovely and syrupy and her writing is actually sublime in places. Tolerate It LOLM Marjorie The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived She really hones in on human emotions and those thoughts in your head very eloquently and poetically. . It took me by surprise actually after hearing the singles she's released. If Max Martin could give Madonna anything as sublime as Style I'd be thrilled. It's a perfect pop song. -

Musically 4 Minutes is brilliant. I just kinda dislike the Justin bits even though I actually dig Justin. Medellin was beaut but undercooked a tad. Britney one is still one of the worst things she's done. I like her Dua verse on Levitating a lot. Sam Smith is mid and gimmicky Popular are the definition of mid background coffee shop music. Love Song should have been so much more for the star power I do love Be Careful with Ricky Martin but again it's very unshowy. Sexy Santana, Tokishca, Anita, Sickick, hard pass.
