What has the world come to when Madonna at Pride is being debated as possibly offensive to gays and blacks...

Also the whole era was traumatizing for the fans cause around the end of the tour and the start of the covid crisis I think that´s when she kind of lost her mind, and we couldn´t believe the milk bath with petals of roses speaking about covid being the great equaliser, the injuries, the very strange face, the terrible instagram posting, Madonna losing her physical shape, and then the start of the bizarre singles and the woke messages non stop. But the good news is that, despite it all, she managed to return as the Madonna of always, at least in professionality and mood and face, for the big Celebration tour, one of her greatest ever. Also I rediscovered the album a few months ago and ok, it´s not my favourite, but I could enjoy it a little better, without any expectations, than at first when I disliked it totally.

Five years ago on Friday June 14th 2019, one of Madonna's best albums was released! It delivered innovation, visuals, themes, personas, and an era unlike anything we've witnessed before!! Let's all celebrate this immaculate album that deserves to be treated better than it was on release!

I think if anything the Celebration Tour showed us that she can't cram her life story into a 2 hour show no matter what the format, and she will most likely lose the plot halfway through and just start making out with everyone.
    I mean lets be real...
BOB : Were gonna tell you the story of everything.... y'all been waiting for this....
Madonna: I'm a Nobody, Club, Nother club, AIDS, SEX, Vogue, Gay Oppression, I love my past self, I do Religion, Spiritual enlightenment, Mother Father, A Pretty Island, Evita, Go to Sleep, Fly in the Sky, Rain, My Name is Madonna, Madonna, Madonna.

Random but this comment from a ATRL user is sending me

It begins with Madonna sitting in a team meeting. Her phone lights up -- A text from Guy: "I want to see a marriage counselor".
She closes her eyes. She sighs. A montage of clips gossiping about her adoption, her marriage struggles, her age...these flash across the screen. She is tired of the controversies and personal life challenges.
She opens them and stares at the group of Warner A&R Reps. Silence.
    "Candy Shop. That's the single."
"....no..." says one of the Reps. "Absolutely not. We're doing the Justin Timberlake song".
She smiles. She knows what she is doing. She has a plan. A flash of Candy Shop performances from future tours flashes before her eyes.
"Fine. We'll call the record Hard Candy"
"But Madonna, it's already called Give It 2 Me, and we have the boxing theme photoshoot already comple--"
    "Hard Candy."
    She is a freedom fighter.
Title credits roll: Madonna: Still Sticky, Still Sweet -- The Biopic.

Agreed, the opening look with straight hair was her best look of the whole tour. I don't know why she only did it for this one show. It's like the incredible blow out she had for Rebel Heart in Birmingham.

    Oh that's super interesting.
Piggy backing off of that, she used to come to the University of Michigan semi-regularly when I was a student there. She was spotted multiple times in the residence hall where Lola stayed, and apparently she used to even eat in the open dining hall around other students. She'd come to the campus to see Lola in shows, take her out to dinner with friends, etc.
Apparently, she wore her sunglasses the entire time for an hour plus long meeting with the Dean of the School of Music when they first visited with Lola as a prospective student lol.
My favorite story was how Lola apparently had a mutual friend that had been hanging out with her in her dorm room, and there was a knock at the door, to which Lola said go see who it is, and standing there was Madonna. Can you imagine?
I also visited Ciccone Vineyards and the woman in the tasting room said Madonna was up there relatively regularly.

ive not heard any of any of these mixes - so they are just mashups then ?
totally agree they need to work together - i think she could squeeze one album out of him and we know it will be dance/pop - not that awful trap music and vocoder crap we got on some of MX - sorry @Shoful i know its your fave M album ..

If there wasn’t already a big enough case for a new Stuart Price produced album, this is it…
This guy just gets it. And so does Madonna lately, it seems. Her posting this has me confident she’s finally starting to understand what the fans want and where she thrives.
This was a really unexpected surprise to wake up to. I was obsessed with this set in Miami and didn’t think we’d get an HQ version.
This reminds me of the Icon days where mega mixes were posted, like the one with the Erotica / You Thrill Me studio demo.

I know this is just a fever dream at this point, but so was the idea of her serving something like the Rio concert until last weekend....
....what if her next era is a major comeback again like Confessions? Obviously not the same level of chart breaking success, but her being back in the public consciousness with new music that's well received, another sold out tour focused on the new music, and her main creative collaborators back at it (Stuart, Mirwais, Jonas, etc).
There are many parallels here to Reinvention Tour and what came after...
...I'd just be so beyond slayed if this woman really has another era left in her that doesn't feel like an appendix to her catalog. MDNA, Rebel Heart, Madame X, and arguably even Hard Candy feel superfluous against the rest of her catalog. It'd be wild for her to be back in the pop conversation with a new QUALITY release again.
Last weekend, I was convinced this was it. That performance felt like such a finale. But I've had people asking me about Rio that I'm surprised were even aware of it. It seems like this performance did her some major good will. Maybe this is the boost she needed to get back out there with another strong album.
I feel like this tour proved she understands what makes her MADONNA and that she tapped back into the best parts of herself as an artist. All of that time self reflecting and seeing how her catalog has been received live will definitely play into her next move as an artist.
This woman continues to blow me away in unexpected ways nearly 20 years into being a fan. It's such a gift to be a fan of Madonna.
