You know that they used rehearssl vocals to 'improve' the BsAs dvd and she sounded live enough for the producers to give them something to work. Kevin Antunes said in an interview that the production team wanted her to sound extremely youthful and that he had to go so hard on the vocals that he even had to pitch up what she said (and screamed; i.e. Borderline) during or in between songs because ot wouldn't have matched, otherwise. So, we decided to pitch her speaking voice up a little to mix better with the rehearsals. Then when the label reviewed it, Madonna's tour director requested a clean-up of all the instrumentals we recorded during filming of the footage in Buenos Aires. It was very unfortunate because after that clean-up, everything sounded more studio-esque, which apparently, Madonna aimed for. With our PA system, it was very easy to work on that tour because our sound was very consistent across the board. If we didn't run into issues with the venue or technical stuff screwing us over - which rarely happened, anyway- the show in Berlin would sound just as good as the show in Los Angeles, for instance. I also did a version of the soundboard using stems from shows in which she gave good vocal performances and played it to her but she didn't like it very much. So, at the end of the day, a more artificial sound was preferred over a more rough mix. Sadly, for the audience noise, I had to use stock recordings to get it right sometimes. "

Hung Up, hands down. I was having doubts about what my ALL-TIME favourite song of hers was then I got to experience the live performance so close to her when I stood barely 5 feet away from tze Manhattan stage during BOTH shows in cologne. IF I wanted, I could've spat in her face. It was an otherworldy experience. I remember to the very minute when Hung Up made a fan of hers back on Nov 5th 2005 when she performed it in a german TV show. It felt like she performed it for me in Cologne after all these years. Like a journey we experienced together and like this was her gift for me. I was really starting to view the bangers like Express Yourself or Vogue as my faves but nothing will ever beat Hung Up for me after that.
MOST of the aspects of this show are amazing. When the bass kicks in for NRM when Bob (finally) leaves the stage, OYH is a highlight of the opening segment. When you look in the eyes of the gays in the front row after the break in LTT, 'If I ran away, I'd never have the strength….' just hit us so deep to the core because it was such a horrifying part of gay history. La Isla… OMG! There's so many.

The fact that fans come up with better production value literally 2 days after the tour wrapped than a whole team that works on it for over half a year is baffling to me.

Sorry, but we've had the Jimmy Fallon stems from the Satellite feed so it's not out of the ordinary for me to ask someone who has the equipment to rip the single tracks. And also, trying not too sound too much like a total prick here, but I know a thing or two about production but there are people on here who just know so much more than I do

And here's yet another hot take of mine but I LOVE this discussion and the show but OMG! The best camera work or live autotune in the world couldn't have saved Music. She rehearsed it so well and it seemed like she was preparing a significant tribute for Brazil but this was just atrocious. Nearly as bad as with Maluma in Medellin.

the build-up, the mix, the rehearsal and the wonderful incorporation of traditional Brazilian music and young musicians playing was something to hold your breath for… the execution was a hot mess at best

Fact round-up; Re: Celebration Tour in Rio:
Madonna is gonna give us most of the Arena tour set list. The production was changed according to the venue and its limitations. They are not gonna be able to have her flying through the crowd in the moving frame because the metal structure holding it can not be installed on an outdoort beach - obviously. For the same reason, the linen cloth screens that were specifically rolled up and down the b-stages throughout the show won't be present but are replaced by enormous LED screens scattered around the stage. For the numbers where the flying frame would've been utilized, Madonna is gonna get lifted by the cube at the end of the center (Manhattan) stage to reach a similar effect. Musically, there are some changes as well: After La Isla Bonita, a versions of Music was integrated with a few stems of Faz Gostoso to lead into a samba-driven odé to classic brazilian music and M's own song, Music which is important because it gives Brazil some recogintion for the musical roots that became a global and cultural phenomenon. The instruments used were recorded in collaboration with a classical samba school that are operating as an NGO to teach young children the music style. Apparently, during Live to Tell, the backdrop is gonna be changed up to incorporate brazilian artists from the 80s & 90s who lost their fight against AIDS which is also much appreciated by the brazilian gay community because the fact that Madonna advocated for them for years and sheds light on such a sensitive subject is yet another reason she has such a cult following in the country.
Express Yourself was rehearsed for the acoustic segment, Rain was also part of the first day of rehearsal.
On a sidenote: cutting DCFMA and I will survive from a concert that is broadcast globally makes total sense because she avoids having to pay royalties for the covers.
