Angelman60 got a reaction from hidroboy in Synthesizers
I am a huge synth and sound design fan and it's surprisingly difficult to find any info about which synth preset was used on madonna's hits. I'm Especially after the true blue era info in order to re create parts from multitracks we dont have yet.
Any other info would be valuable. Is there any other synths curious here ?

you can diss the artwork on jump( i couldnt care less to be honest) but at least we got an amazing extended version of jump and not forgetting the wonderful history as a bonus unreleased song too - the last time we got an unreleased official song ...

Angelman60 got a reaction from rymc730 in DL : Like A Prayer Instrumental with missing elements
Hello all,
So I decided to make an instrumental with all the missing elements from the multitrack, I tried 2 different things :
1 : Multitrack instrumental adding the Filtered Churchapella instrumental (but it's very centered mixed)
2 : Multitrack instrumental with recreated missing elements (CowBell and congas from the Roland TR-626, shakers, triangles and samples from other versions) to add a litlle more stereo to the mix.

This all made me realize that the lucky star multitrack is missing some elements sadly.

I think the multitrack leaked is the demo, isn’t it?

No, the audio for "Lucky Star" on Celebration DVD and YouTube is NOT the Gold Disc edit. (See above).
The It's That Girl VHS has the original 7" edit video (that later appears on TIC VHS and LD).

The video version / 7" edit is not an edit of the album version…
it is…cause it’s the original 7" Version.
I don’t know how many times this has to be discussed but no. The version of STR uploaded on streaming is the version from The Immaculate Collection.
That said, if they were to update STR with the correct version, it still wouldn’t be the original 7" Edit.
Crazy for You has 4 official versions and they are
- Soundtrack Version 4:12
- Edit/Fade 3:58 (Video Version, released on 7" Singles)
- Q-Sound Mix 3:46
- New Edit [1995 Remaster] 4:04
Finally someone who got it right. I wanted to rip my hair out reading the 1000th discussion about the Borderline versions a few pages back.

It is used on the original 1984 video, that is also on The Immaculate Collection VHS and Laser Disc.
The Immaculate Collection DVD has the remix video, that is also on the 1984 Madonna 4 video clips VHS.
The Celebration DVD does NOT use the original 7" Edit. It's a "bad" attempt to recreate the original 7" Edit, but the intro is different.

I am one of those who think the 7'' edit we have is a good reconstruction but not the transfer of the original master used to press the 7''. There was many arguments in favor of this but mainly the hiss that is not there when you turn up the volume during the fade out. And one of the edit point (the one that cuts abruptly towards the end) doesn't seem to be the exact same.
In the end it doesn't really matter, to me I'm just fascinated about the work there, do they find the master, do they take the time to recreate an edit...

If the edit points match perfectly it means it’s the original. Nobody at Rhino would spend the time to perfectly match it. If anything they would fix it to sounds more seamless. Oftentimes the fade outs vary from source to source
Remaster does not mean reconstructed by any means.

Deeper and deeper is not just an edit to me it's another mix. I think it's during the middle eight section there is a sound like an explosion which is louder in the 7'' mix. Human nature, hung up, sorry are not just edits but you are right saying they don't have new elements
