    Oh, Patti Putone again.
One of those, like Ruby Wax, that only make the headlines when they talk s**t about Madonna, when their link with her has been MINIMAL.
    Sad souls.
This is what people see when they think of Evita in fiction:

Get over it, Putone. It's been almost 30 years already.

Maybe it’s my age, but the only thing I knew Patti from was, Life Goes On. A late 80s TV show.
To me and my generation, Madonna is Evita.

Patti is talented, but she falls into the Mariah Carey, Gaga and Elton John talent section:
Talented, but awful, bitter personalities that make you not want to listen to them.

Maybe the Scorpio excuse wasn't actually rude but a polite way of sending him to hell.
But this song would have fitted completely on "MDNA"! Make of that what you will.

Go out and buy "The Music of James Bond" by John Burlingame.

Work began on the song early in 2002, according to French Michel Colombier, who wrote and conducted the string arrangement, Colombier (a veteran composer whose credits included the pop symphony Wings and film scores for White Nights and Against All Odds) had recently worked with Madonna and her Paris-based producer Mirwais Ahmadzaï on their album Music, supplying the string arrangement for the song "Don't Tell Me.
Madonna and Mirwais (as he was known professionally) were working on her next studio album when the call came from "the Bond people, Colombier said. One of the songs they were working on "could maybe work for it," Mirwais told Colombier; they sent a demo to the studio that was "this techno thing," an electronica piece rewritten to accommodate the film and the title. According to Colombier, the studio responded: "We love the song, but can you bridge it to the tradition of Bond in some way?" That's when Madonna and Mirwais called Colombier to help.
MGM sent Colombier (who was in Los Angeles) a rough edit of the opening of the film. "I knew that I had to do something film-score-esque; he said. Mirwais sent Colombier a long version of the Madonna-Mirwais track, Colombier wrote "a bunch of things to it" and then flew to London to conduct an ensemble of 60 string players at AIR Studios. From there, Mirwais took the track back to Paris and then did "a complete production job," Colombier said. "What you hear is not what I wrote. The way that it came out is completely Mirwais. He is a master manipulator. Sixty real strings, played live, became audio files in his computer. They can be chopped like pieces of fabric. He's amazingly brilliant with that."
Colombier also designed an instrumental version of the theme for possible use over the end titles. Madonna attended the recording session in London, he noted. "In the instrumental version, there is a moment when I went into almost a tango feeling. At the rehearsal, they did it extremely well, instinctively. When we started doing the take, it just lost the 'fire.' Madonna, in the booth, grabbed the talkback mic and told them, It's not sexy enough, think about sex!' She really participates."
Colombier's rich string arrangement provided the drama, especially in the opening measures before Madonna's vocal enters. Her cryptic lyrics were a curiosity ("I'm gonna keep this secret / I'm gonna close my body now . . .") but Mirwais's electronica sounds, which dominate the track, made "Die Another Day" the most sonically edgy Bond theme ever. (Soon afterward, Madonna asked Colombier to score her film Swept Away, which would be released later in 2002, a month before the Bond film.)
The track apparently went through various incarnations. "We went through several interpolations of it." producer Michael G. Wilson later said, "but I think when she saw the rough material we were going to use, she sort of adapted the song and changed the title to 'Die Another Day." Added director Lee Tamahori: "When I first heard it, I was a little concerned because it seemed to have stops and starts and didn't seem to be that evocative. But she rewrote--the chorus was written for the movie, and I think it's made quite a profound difference."
As Madonna herself said before the film's release: "I hemmed and hawed about it for a while. Everybody wants to do the theme song of a James Bond movie, and I never like to do what everybody else likes to do. It's just some perverse thing in me. But then I thought about it and I said, you know what? James Bond needs to get techno.
Years later, she praised Colombier's contribution: "Mirwais brought Michel to me. That song is so cinematic; I'm so excited when I get to work with a live orchestra. Those strings in Die Another Day' are chilling and, because of that, it's one of my favorite songs."

Interesting. He seems so full of himself but maybe it's just the way he comes across?
I think this is they key why she likes him so much:
I wonder if it's because you've humanized Madonna, one of the most famous and most powerful people in entertainment.
Before working with her I always respected her and her as an artist, but it wasn't the type of music I would listen to. One time she asked me, “Did you come out to my music?” And I was like, “No,” because it's the truth. I love her, but I was just listening to other things.
We know from the past she likes people not seeing her like a creamy smooth pop icon goddess. This guy seems like he couldn't care less about her pop status.
At the same time, he's a little bit clueless in general right? This part about the "Celebration Tour":
Visually, it's a such a minimal show, but still feels huge. It doesn't have many props, it doesn't have 100 chairs, it doesn't have stairs. It's really just a video and a stage. And for such a big pop artist to do that, everything else has to be solid. And I'm actually so happy that she allowed herself to do that. It's way, way stronger, because it's all about her and the dancers. And if that is not good enough, then the show wouldn't be good.
Minimal? Doesn't have many props? Doesn't have stairs? It's just a video and a stage?
PLEASE. It's a technical nightmare. The million stage changes, the million dancers on stage, the million screens, the CUBE, the flying portrait... this guy was there every night? That comment was more like he was talking about Rosalía's "Motomami Tour".
    He's just... there...

Madgerules reacted to DoneGone in Did Madonna really want Pure Shores by All Saints?
I don't think she's ever said anything about it in public/interviews, etc.?
The "Pure Shores" instrumental track itself is quite good so she probably felt weird about it, it was also Orbit's first big thing with other artists after working with her. Not only that, it was a monster hit in the UK and the biggest single of 2000 there, if I remember well.
So it must have felt a little bit like meh even though she didn't have a reason to feel bad about it: but seeing a sound that she considered "hers" to be now also a hit sound for other artists surely did something for her.
No doubt that "helped" into moving forward to Mirwais for the next album. Plus all the Orbit "Music" outtakes... honestly, while good, they were generally a downgrade from all his "Ray Of Light" material anyway. She was so lucky to find Mirwais, he really pushed her to another whole new level.

But they're not opinions when they're claiming things as facts and are not actually true. Also, an "expert" should know Madonna's current label situation or at least do some research about it.
Again, fans will always know more, of course, but it's sad to read those kinds of articles, feels like undermining a little bit her victory in Rio. "Yeah, she can still gather people BUT...".
Just my take on it, of course I don't claim to be the right voice about it. :-)

I’ve never been more proud of being a fan than last nigh, it was spectacular, the livestream captured the nature of the show so well, when she got on stage for a few seconds i felt just the way i felt in Paris back in november. The only thing i wish is that her live vocals would be a bit more prominent because the sounded great under the track but i understand the nature of keeping it safe for a live TV.

Not gonna lie, before this tour started i was a little worried it was gonna be a drag queen lip sync mess but last night and on the whole tour she served nothing but excelence.

I mean her looks, her body, her stamima, vocals, moves, charisma, stage presence, she was on fire and gave us everything last night.

Again, there's not much difference between the audio broadcast and the fan recording from the audience. She has a backing track supporting in both. She's actually singing in both.
I find this whole narrative of the broadcast being almost playback and not live... weird.
She's live in both, with a backing track, same as the other 80 shows of this tour.

Still fresh. I also remember my first listen and be surprised but happy overall. Everyone (me included) expected the usual Maluma dirty reggaeton smash, but instead she gave us this smooth, cool, almost nostalgic song. I also liked that sonically it was something different for her, right where "Body Shop" had left in the previous album. She tried something different.
I took a pill and had a dream...
The video is still one of her best of last decade and I'd even say one of her best ever...
And the chemistry between them was always cute to see:

My dream came true in Miami on April 6 when I had a brief one-on-one eye contact moment with MADONNA!!!!
I was front row center off the main stage and in the final moments of "Bitch I'm Madonna," when she marches toward the front of the stage, and before she gets lowered, I stood there, blowing kisses at her. We made eye contact and then SHE LEGIT SMILED. Because I was so startled that I was making eye contact with the QUEEN, I instinctively tilted the camera away! She was looking right at me as she fanned herself, while I blew kisses at her, it was so surreal and magical and I had to share this video!!!
Regarding that evening, from where we were sitting, it was very hot but not stifling. We did  have a very hard time hearing M when she was talking to the crowd. She did have a very cunty moment before starting "Burning Up." A fan was screaming for her as she was preparing to start the song. She asked him what his name was, whose concert it was and then asked him to "shut the fuck up."
Did anyone else hear that exchange? Did anyone catch it on video?
BTW, this was my first post on this board, however I have really enjoyed reading and hearing the discourse about the amazing Celebration Tour! Big Hugs to you all! Dreams do come true!!!!!!!

Not at all, never been. We had a huge respect for all the pop US 50s-00s culture here in EU.
Things changed in the last two decades I'd say. Phenomena like Swift, Beyonce, Drake hardly became hits here as in America, but about the old school artists they really were huge and still are respected. We were amazed by the way Americans were able to define contemporaneity, always creating new effective models, showing strong personalities and talents like Turner, Prince, Jacko, and we debateted a lot about them, criticizing and taking sides about their provocations, looks, music value, but it was part of the game and their cultural role. They really were something for us (socially I mean, not just for their fan bases).
I think the situation is different now (but I'm old, I can be wrong), from Gaga on it all seems flatter, pop icons are not that able to break the social discussion with significant lyrics or images, it's much more about social medias and politically correctness I'd say.
