Neither did her latest concert films but look what we got

If she just handed her script to filmmakers then there could be a fairly quick turnaround but she’s not so I’m expecting a lot of time in post production.  Maybe not with effects but I’m sure she’ll find other ways to drag the process out.

Would she release an album with no tour attached to it? Because I can’t see her touring any time soon?

Let's be REALISTIC though ....she's doing her BIOPIC ...her story she literally is going to be making sure everything is in place and done this will literally be her passion project for the next three years ..   ....I'm not saying she won't record during the biopic lifetime but

She's approaching 70 , she had a NDE a year ago! And physically has had such a scare ...it really is much as we all wish she released more albums we want them of a great quality ....hard Candy was made when making a film as was Mdna ... Both are ...let's be kind, mixed in the fandom ...I don't think we want her next album after 5 years and counting to be mixed

The difference is that most of us are TALENTED. time and time again we've seen fans many on this board really  "remaster" or edit remixes better, we've seen so many fans airbrush and upscale photos, we've seen fans recreate single covers, we've especially seen fans create brilliant mockups and designs for our dream box sets or singles etc. That's the difference. The biggest complaint the past decade fans have had is quality control. Of course most of us would jump at the chance but not because we want clout or to be in her circle but because we LOVE and appreciate her work. You can't have it both ways complaining about her output then flippantly say it's because we're jealous.

Good. more people should ask her about that.
She can't name a song Woman's World produced by a man who was sued for sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, emotional abuse and not expect to be asked why she chose to work with him again
Yes I am aware the lawsuit he had with Kesha was settled....

Absolute trash. He can't style, light or set a scene like any of the other greats she's worked with. The overuse of filters is a giveaway that his images have little to know substance to begin with. He has degraded the royalty of what was once her brand. One is an icon, the other is simply, a con.

My least favourite album, on top of not-great songs and weird vocal effects we had aloof/oddball public appearances, the Eurovision mess, unflattering looks, that….tour. Honestly I’ve struggled through these interscope years and when I heard MX I thought shit, she’s not going to do anything that I love again!
But then came Celebration Tour! <3
    Nice videos though.

Ok well from your quote fest it's clear than any other perspective we have is incorrect unless it's flat out praising Madonna. Which sort of undermines your whole pitch because it's very visibly not objective. And that's fine, it's just a bit futile to read or take your post with any real merit.  You do you but I'll not respond past this point cause I already know the weight of the counter response.

Agree. That combined w/the mediocre MDNA. It was her first big album post-gaga’s hijacking of the pop landscape (and rummaging M’s closet), and really M’s intro to a new generation of young people coming of age w/gaga, and she came back with… that. Sure we got the superbowl, some semi decent album tracks and a couple cute videos but yeah. What a disappointment.
But we all know Billy O’s comments about how checked out she was.
We have to wonder if she was fully aware of and ok with the direction the 360 deal would take her. Maybe she herself realized what an increasingly uphill battle pop success would be. So she pivoted to focusing on touring and other more reliably lucrative endeavors, and new albums just became an excuse to tour a la the Rolling Stones.
The dip in quality a lot of us “legacy fans” feel her last few albums had are on her though, and possibly her own hubris. Bitch, I’M MADONNA.

I mean I don't think the Warner situation was bad. They stuck by her through thick and thin. The whole Erotica debacle, the American Life debacle and managed to put her back on top with Confessions. I couldn't pick a better singles run from any of her Warner albums except for maybe Beat Goes On from Hard Candy and Nobody Knows Me & Mother & Father from American Life but they still supported her with loads of endorsement deals a successful tour and worked on an albeit scrapped boxset.
So she didn't get to pick Impressive Instant and Candy Shop as singles. I'm sorry...Warner were right on that one and were proved even further right when she had the option to pick singles and A&R the album tracks from her interscope albums. Hard Candy was already proof she had checked out in many aspects. Of course we don't know what was going on behind the scenes there could have of course been other issues. If anyone has any intel that would be interesting. For Madonna to go back to them after diminishing returns out on her own speaks volumes to me. There's a whole load of other labels that would have her but the truth is she know where her bread is buttered. Let's hope the balance of power between them is an equilibrium. Hopefully a, one new album - one re-release ratio.

No one knows what could have happened. Like I said in my previous post, the pop scene changed dramatically between her last big Warner hit in 2009 (the "Celebration" single in Europe, not in the US though) and her new era in 2012. Gaga, Katy, Rihanna, Kesha... they simply took over the charts and captured everyone's imagination.
A standalone Madonna single in between the "Celebration" and "MDNA" campaigns wouldn't have hurt, even if it was only "Masterpiece" in October 2011, to promote "W.E.". She was meant to work with David Guetta in 2010/2011 for his album but that didn't happen - it could have helped her a lot, Guetta was very big then.
And I still maintain the whole Gaga "war" was terrible for Madonna in the long run. She lost a whole generation in the process and that was a first for her - not winning over the next generation.
But of course, it's aways easy to talk when things have already happened, right?

Initially it was a 360 deal and had LN put their shit together, this Interscope crapfest never would have happened the way it did.
LN closed the deal with M and only then realized that they had no clue how to distribute her albums.
So the record deal of that 360 contract was outsourced to Interscope (was it 40 mil worth or am I remembering this wrong?) and this is where the insanity began.
M was bound to a label which didn’t really want her. Live Nation was responsible for promotion, yet they didn’t feel that these peanuts were worth promoting so they only did it for her tours, gyms, perfume etc.
Warner was bad in the end, people seem to have a selective memory. However, they never wanted her albums to fail. They always pushed for the lead single and the first months of album sales and this is what never happened post Super Bowl. The rest is history.

Imagine if she didn't have Guy Oseary as a manager and that Live Nation deal never happened. We probably would have had several more hits and impressive albums on top of record breaking world tours. Interscope were completely clueless on how to market her.

She can pull on those numbers because her career was carefully and successfully managed for 35 years with one multinational record company and execs who knew what they were doing. She already fucked up her own record label and then thought I’m gonna go with a new venture again some years later? Instincts change too. What she might have had in terms of drive and instinct in the 80’s and 90’s certainly waned towards the 2010’s where her interests lay elsewhere. Hard Candy, MDNA and Madame X are the three most polarising Madonna albums in the fan base and probably outside of it. Rebel Heart is a fave of mine but it was messy as hell and certainly had its detractors. Her late starts times, her previously erratic and odd social media presence and continued messing with facial and assial perfection certainly shows her artistic and social metric has been somewhat distracted from her Warner years. Even the schizophrenic digital singles releases and the FEL tracklist where the woman is rewriting the charts for herself is a WTF moment. She don’t always make the best decisions.

Did everyone try the Black Madonna?
I thought the Black Madonna was …… fucking dumb.

Look.. I love my mom and it’s her life and career and it’s been brilliant and I’m just some ranting British Cig on the inter web. But we don’t have to gloss over the missteps and WTF moments. We’ve all probably felt a little “hmmm ok” about some of her career and personal choices since her freedom from Warner. She’s a women in charge. Good for her. But I respect her enough not to patronise her. She’s made missteps and her career since Warner has been patchy as fuck.
..and now we’re at the mercy of her in house team (Ricardo god help us) throwing crumbs every 12 months or so to Warner HQ and not Warner creating them and Madonna signing them off? This is actually the worst thing I’ve heard about the deal so far and actually I’m a bit gutted at this new info.

Prove me wrong mother please 🙏🏻

It's a very interesting discussion happening here.
I understand the deal with LiveNation, It made her a huge amount of money, and I completely understand why she signed with them at that time. However the other point of view would be if it was really worth it (not from money point of view).
We can think whatever we want about Hard Candy, but she was still huge at that time. Sticky and Sweet being her biggest tour, 4 Minutes being a huge hit in US etc. Warner actually did a good job to keep her relevant.
Deal with LiveNation made her money, but the main question here is if it was worth it having multiple years of messy eras (MDNA, Rebel Heart, Madame X) and, let's be honest, significantly dropping her status and relevancy as marketing genius and Queen of Pop. We can talk here about ageism in pop music as well, but I strongly believe the drop wouldn't be so drastical under Warner leadership. At least, eras wouldn't be such a mess and Warner would actually care much more about albums becoming hits (and trying to have a few hit singles). What happened after moving to LiveNation was they simply didn't care about any of the albums there at LN (naturally) and the albums (especially MDNA and Rebel Heart) basically became only ammendments and reason to tour,as I see it.

The Live Nation Deal made sense at the time and they made so much money but she toured more in her 50s than ever in her carreer and that took a big toll on her. The albums had no A&R behind them and she was kind of lost

I mean yeah if you think Madonna getting an absolute shit load of cash vs what was better for her artistry, output and fans between 2009-2021 then great. I know what I’d rather have had as a fan. But yeah business wins god forbid artistry and output should triumph.

I’d also add that while she was brilliant for a lot of her career her strongest asset was working with and taking advice from collaborators and record execs. Her career dipped like a mother fucker on so many fronts as soon as she said she was leaving Warner mid Hard Candy. Her instincts while good are not always great in terms of marketing her product.

Let’s be real. Warner did not resign with her to do some cute little record store day Ltd picture discs and a few curated dedications to DJ’s and some pillow cases and Anniversary singles with new artwork, they signed with her again to finally be able to repackage her landmark money spinning albums. That’s where the money is and Warner is about the money. Aint no big money in a 40th birthday Everybody 12”with a new pic and a long lost Erotica single picture disc.
People are so hard to defend her and this deal they lose logic and reason. It’s giving dumb.
All the published articles and news updates from outlets led with the meat of this whole re-deal … and that is the expanded curated landmark albums. Bolstered by archived material that essentially makes them good money for old rope. End of conversation. The rest is just chicken feed so if people could please stop trying to smoke and mirrors this shit it would be appreciated. This forum is trying me recently lord a mercy.
