I adore her voice, she is a performer and for sure she would change her vocal style depending on the message or the character she is playing on a song. Her voice on True blue is deeper on some tracks, but she changed a lot with LAP. On Vogue again another sound, another sound for TBA tour, then she was more refined for Erotica and BS and voila, voice coaching and she sung full throat and amazing since You´ll see till Hard Candy. Then she tried again the child voice on some songs, and it´s like she is not so fuller singing, but Ghostown, even live was very good so you never know. I prefer her singing a thousand times to Mariah or other VH1 screaming divas.

Candy shop, only for the opening number of Sticky tour, she was so full of power and commanding. And what a hit it was, for her at 50.
Body shop is ok, but there it something about her vocals that sometimes make me nervous,,,

The Gang Bang tour costume and aesthetic is my favourite tour look of hers ever. I wish so hard the whole album had leaned into the Russ Myers Femme Fatale kitsch vibe. It fitted perfectly with the angry nature of the album. It’s like nothing about the era fit properly. I also feel the MDNA idea is genius ….. for an EDM album of which there weee two songs. I’m Addicted & Girl Gone Wild. Which is her worst produced single ever. I actually think GAY luvin is camp as tits. But it’s a third single or a standalone Beautiful Stranger type moment. Turn Up The Radio is maybe her worst single period. 
Warner was missed on this album so badly. 

One more controversy note: I prefer much more Express Yourself with its original funky version much more than the remixed one that came in IC. Obviously Like a prayer is quintessential in the album version, but I must say that the version that makes me one dance is the Inmaculate Collection one!! The good thing is having both version together, so good both of them. Nowadays, we have superdeluxe editions with 28 songs I almost don´t like....

Both + Radio was all about RnB and Dance music was niche. It all changed around 2009 with gaga/rihanna and the EDM acts

Oh it is it's like after three huge block buster albums this was a real personal journey expressive off the wall still be very personal ...she hit her 30s and got so introspective and harder hitting Live to Tell, Papa Don't Preach teased where we were going then boom Like a Prayer was a 180 transition again you hear all the details it's just beautiful

I adore dejar jessie too. Its more artístic maybe than true blue but true blue its 80s pop perfection.

Masterpiece and Falling Free … these two songs we should appreciate MORE!!!
 
Personally MDNA and RH are definitely better than MX wayyyy better. That’s my opinion.

I think the Madonna of 2020s Connects better with her erotica or Vogue days than with her Esther days,, just a thought.

I always loved the whole mdna era, to me that was maybe the last time she was madonna 100 xr cent dancing amazingly at that age wow. And i liked the album a lot at its time. It was a good success and the era too. And she looked amazing.

It's cute but it always sounded to me like a J-Lo song for some reason! Maybe cause "Do It Well" was out a year earlier or so.

True, she was already in "f**k the past" mode even before the album was released (when talking to MTV's Kurt Loder she was very clear about it), but when the album exploded and got universal acclaim, she felt even more vindicated to not look back at all. Warner wanted to do a greatest hits compilation in 1999 but she managed to block that and only do a video version ("93:99") while promising them another whole studio album for the next 12 months (what ended up being "Music"). Also, she could have never done the "DWT" set list if she didn't come from two monster projects like "ROL" and "Music". The lack of older hits in the tour was mentioned all the time even in 2001 but she did it.
And yes, "ROL" is one of those eras you need to have lived there to fully get it. She was literally the coolest woman on Earth then and probably never before of after she had the same level of universal acclaim and acceptance from both critics and public. It was COOL to like Madonna.

It's so funny to revisit those days now, her shading most of her older songs during that time or just having a look at the set list of the "Drowned World Tour" and only seeing "La Isla" and "Holiday" there (and I remember someone said they even have to convince her to put at least two old hits for the final section?).
