Sadly, it is time to face the truth.  Sit youself down while your kindly Uncle tells you.

    It ain't happening.

Live album version of Who's that Girl tour, BAT, Girlie Show, Drowned World and Reinvention.  Ain't gonna happen.
Blu-ray of above.  Ain't gonna happen.
Yes, the Remix edits and extended versions (eg Gambler) and B-sides (eg Ain't no Big Deal) are WELL , WELL (as in 15 years) overdue and are very welcome.  But as for Burning Up (4'48), Live to Tell single, Dress You Up single, Let Down your Guard, actual versions of Borderline edit (etc) and especially OYH single (remix edit)....  Ain't gonna happen.
All the Erotica outtakes, demos, versions etc that are freely available on Youtube (and are a JOY to listen to).... Ain't gonna happen.
Boxed-set of ANYTHING. Let alone new photographs, liner notes, personal reflections (ie what THE REST OF THE WORLD IS DOING) A'int gonna happen.
Re-mastered (decently and sympathetically, to enhance the magic rather than frustrate the listener) anything other than post-Confessions.  A'int gonna happen.
We would all sell our first born, our mammas, and our One Great Love, to even have a sniff of the above before it was cruelly snatched away from us, and still- STILL- here we are with 2024 drawing to a close... and NOTHING.
Bitch has spent 40 years telling us that she doesn't stop, don't tell her to stop (because she can keep going long after everyone else has stopped) yet even though her Music makes the people come together, the feeling that we have to be GRATEFUL to finally own CAC digitally or to be able to stream it, is humiliation rather than joy. Bitch was THE FIRST to release a single digitally (HUp) yet WE STILL WAITING.  I'm in my fifties now yet I was 12 when CAC was a thing.  It is clear, dear listener, to anyone that has kept up, that.... it Ain't gonna happen.
So, maybe, they kindness would be to just release a statement that clarifies what "they/she" is doing and if legacy releases are cancelled while the Bitch plans her next Art installation.  Then, we can all get on with our lives.
There.  Someone had to say it.  Don't shoot the messenger. I been spending more dollas on Her Madgesty than I have even spent on myself over the last 40 years.  So the Bitch needs to made to understand that repayment of four decades of loyalty (and keeping her in the lifestyle...) wouldn't go amiss in the form of a a deluge of decent Music releases with all the works.
Have you read the Mary Gabriel book?  I have made it to the release of WE and I have learned ONE thing: our heroine is one controlling Narcissist.
Ya'll wouldn't tolerate any of this from that Taylor Swift, now.

Hmm I have mixed feelings. The last 15 years have undoubtedly been some of the most fascinating in Madonna’s life. Not in terms of music but in terms of what has been going on in her life. Yet I feel we’ve gotten very little in terms of how or who she is. A couple of songs on MDNA and endless lol pop moments of “remember I’m the fucking queen ok”
I find her post 2005 material quite a bit more difficult to connect to that all the stuff that came before.

A couple of moments of vulnerability.
“Im a stranger in a strange land “
    “Forgave myself for being me”
but even those two lines are wrapped in lots of superfluous imagery that is wholly unrelated.

I always noted the ice cold emotionless matter of fact delivery of Miles Aways lyrics marked a shift in her. She’d have sung the shit out of that song a few years before. I dunno maybe it was intentional.

Despite its failures there were a couple of moments on MDNA that invited us in but they were largely tucked away on the bonus CD. Even her dig at Gaga and her Busy Mom anthem IDGAF really only show us she’s in fight mode but wants us to believe she doesn’t care” . For me the lady doth protest too much. Question: Who even is she presenting to us musically anymore?

well she answered us and said “Bitch I’m Madonna” Ironic since all she revealed was that she drinks beer out of a shoe and gets her freak on. I’ve found the decade + long call backs to former selves and former glories a major distraction technique. She’s hiding.
Even the roll call of dead contemporaries on a song like Funana should feel sincere and emotional yet feels a bit “weren’t these people great? Did you know they’re dead and I’m still alive?”
Even the seemingly open moment of Joan Of Arc was essentially “can you be nice to me please I’m a legend”. Her defences have been up for years and years now.
I’m kinda sad that the music does not show us who she is or what she’s thinking anymore. Like she decided to shut that window on us and I miss that. She’s hiding in plain sight and I don’t think we’ll get anything truly great from her till she decides to reflect and open up to us again and I really, really hope she does because at this time of her life the fruit should be so ripe. It’s the most interesting period.

All any fan wants from their fave artist is for us to let them in. I think this is largely the biggest issue with the disconnect from some of her long time fans and the GP.
So yes,  of course she gave us so much in the spring and summer of her career but Autumn has seen her retreat to the potting shed and shut the door. I can only hope she’s been busy making emotional jams and pickled hearts so her winter store can keep us well fed.

It's That Girl on CD and double vinyl would be a dream for many collectors. We must insistently ask Rhino for it. Right now, it's the item I want the most as a collector.
I did my own It's that Girl replicating the original cassette thanks to my UK 7'' vinyls (except Borderline, It's recreated from a 12'' vinyl).

Speaking of strange fades, do you know the album fade of 'Physical Attraction' (3:20) that appears on the B-side of the UK single 'Borderline'?

I'm hearing in a shock revelation that Madonna has recorded all the non Madonna songs on the WTG soundtrack and it is indeed the first special expanded release.  New artwork and everything. The plan was to make this a complete Madonna album as part of her discography.  Trust Madonna to do the one thing no one expected. What is life?

WRONG! Rumor is there are 3 versions ready to be released this year to commemorate her legacy :
    1. Candy Shop Maxi-Single (including Candy Shop Hard Candy album version and Candy Shop Instrumental)
    2. It's Celebration Time, Bitches 16th Anniversary Edition (including Candy Shop DVD with 240p Celebration music video download from YT)
    3. Candy Shop Live Album (including all live versions performed on tours)
    We're blessed!

    This.
The original mix (4'48) is the superior version. It retains the sense of urgency that is described in the lyrics.  The replaced version seems rushed and in a hurry to be over. The production of the original puts her voice front and centre as well but builds to complement the hedonistic rush of the chorus.
Ironically, i did not like the song when I was a wee lad but it is by far the better version. I cannot stand the replaced version and it is CRIMINAL that I am now 50 and don't have the original to own.
    Deal with it, bitches.
PS MDNA is a crime against humanity. She should be made to give us what we want to make up for THAT.  We were there before Like a Virgin was a  *thing* and told everyone that we loved Erotica when others turned away (because it is stunning).  Hasn't she heard of customer loyalty..?

I suppose in some ways Spotify is the Wikipedia of music. Sure you can go through wiki and check what was released as a single but Spotify is an interactive library and as such I think it’s important to house and display what songs were singles and the timeline. I use this a lot when checking out new artists or delving into legacy artists for the first time. And I think it’s important for generations to come to have this modern level of access .
So what if it hasn’t got anything new, it’s part of her journey. Much more so than the Bye Bye Baby or Impressive Instant  remixes. It deserves its spot, it’s not hurting anyone and it would cost Warner £25 for the single to feature on streaming for life. It’s measly not to. She’s the biggest selling female artist of all time. Let’s just get it done properly and preserve the legacy on the biggest musical library platform.

There’s a loneliness and vulnerability in The Look Of Love that is utterly haunting and something rarely on display in Madonna songs. The fact that was the third and most forgotten single of the campaign, and indeed the 80’s, further compounds what I said above. A further rejection and humiliation that just makes the song feel even more lonely and abandoned, which has always been kind of poetic to me. It has always been the perfect link to the Like A Prayer album in its serious and melancholy tone. How she was ultimately to feel about Sean. A foretelling if you will. It also waves goodbye to that first pop incarnation of her 80’s persona before she focuses on her new incarnation of Madonna the artist. Never more white blonde on its single sleeve than ever before, right before she goes back to her dark roots.  It’s top ten Madonna for me hands down I absolutely never tire of it and the live arrangement on the WTG tour is one of my all time favourites of hers.

Either would be pretty crazy — but LIKE A VIRGIN from BLONDE AMBITION remains one of her greatest LIVE performances EVER.  Everything about that performance was so crazy revolutionary at the time, and I simply adore the Far East Arrangement.

But that's your opinion. I'm excited about the new tour (but only because it's a greatest hits tour, I'm not interested in anything she released in Interscope), but not about a new album. Since Madame X album and then the questionable remixes she released last year and also a strange song like Vulgar, I'm not excited for a release of a new album anymore. I prefer a re-release of her old albums with deluxe editions, etc.

Madonna loves to not give her fans what they want. It’s like a point of principle with her.

I’m not sure I even believe that there will be expanded album reissues at this point….  and if there are then I kind of assume that they will be super disappointing. Just giving a selection of remixes previously available on the commercially released CD  and vinyl singles at the time.

The digital singles reissues campaign is just painfully slow and protracted. I wouldn’t even care if I could still copy my mp3s over to my iPhone to play through the Apple Music app.

I know they all sounds negative/pessimistic, but I’ve been a fan for so long that I know how it is.
