Yeah and I think guy had changed it to that pic before the health scare happened. You’d think there’s *something* in the pipeline. I hope they don’t delay it bc of her health. It’s not like she has to do anything.
Even if we get nothing grand, I’d imagine there will be at least some minimal efforts that mirror recent reissues or anniversaries. They could recertify it for attention a la TIC; digitally release an anniv edition w/nothing especially rare a la TB; and of course post for sale overpriced throws, shirts and slip covers a la Erotica, ROL & AL. 

First exposure I remember- Like A Virgin. I recall being about 6 riding in the car w/mom, LAV was on the radio. I asked her what a virgin was. She nervously said something like, “it’s kind of like a nun.” I had a general perception who M was at the time- her style, LAV & MG, that slightly older girls loved her.
What I liked along the way- Open Your Heart video. My mom really was a cool mom in the 80s. She watched MTV a lot. When the OYH video would come on she’d make me leave the room. I’d sneakily peer from the kitchen doorway, like Felix.
Also remember casually liking Live To Tell, La Isla Bonita and Who’s That Girl.
What made me a fan- Vogue & BAT. Nothing from LAP appealed to me at the time. I was more into Paula Abdul in 89 lol. Then in 90 my bff (who was already sort of a fan) and I liked Vogue, especially the video. The I’m Breathless tape was the first thing I owned. 
I watched the BAT HBO broadcast and it blew my tween mind. Became a huge fan from that point. I went out and bought up the rest of her tapes as quickly as my weekly allowance would let me. My bff and I had sleepovers nearly every weekend and would play her tapes, watch the BAT recording, rent her other two concert videos from Blockbuster. 
What a time that was. Then TIC came out. The JML controversy. The MTV Madonnathon weekends. Truth Or Dare. Her ubiquitous presence in the media.

I’d love it if I’m wrong and they announce something this week! But I’m kinda giving up hope. We’ll see though. 🤞

I picked Lucky Star because it’s the definition of iconic. It perfectly encapsulates her charisma and whole vibe from back then (in a much more professional manner than any of the visually similar but aesthetically inferior Holiday performances). It might be conceptually simpler than BU or BL but its simplicity is part of its charm.

To continue the celebration of Madonna's 40th Anniversary of her debut album, I thought it would be nice to unite fans once again in another poll, asking which ONE of her official videos from her first album, is your favorite?
Previously, I posted a successful poll HERE asking fans which song is their favorite from the debut album. If you haven't voted in that poll, feel free to do so now.  At the time of this post, "Burning Up" was taking the lead in that particular poll.  Will it do the same with this new poll, regarding videos or will another song/video take the lead?  Let's see and vote.  I've included the four official videos that were released from the album if you need to watch and remind yourself which is your favorite. Furthermore, you can join another thread I posted at the start of this month HERE which is packed with info, rare demos, videos, performances, interviews and pics that celebrate her debut album. As an added bonus, since there isn't really an official video for Holiday, I've added below; my favorite performance video for the song as well.  (It's not among the poll).  I encourage all who participate to do the same, sharing their favorite performance of Holiday from throughout the years. There are so many, especially early promotional performances.  Lastly, feel free to share your thoughts on the video you chose as your favorite among the poll.  Have fun!  July 27th, 2023 is the official 40th Anniversary date for the release of her debut album.  We hope Madonna and her team will commemorate the moment in a big way as well!

Good point. But I think since Taylor Swift’s show has the biggest carbon footprint and she is according to her fans, a global activist, she should cancel it to pave the way for everyone else.

This vocal take is so much better than the one that made the album lol. Shame they didn’t use it.

I'm thrilled for its success and getting Madonna additional chart credits - but I still don't consider this to be a Madonna song at all - it's more Weeknd with a cameo by Madonna -but it's AMAZING that it's doing great and regardless is getting her name back out there on the chart and radio.

I learned recently that even though she doesn’t seem to get that much media coverage, P!nk apparently still has very devoted fans. Who knew.
