22 years today, @Madonna released 'Rain' as the 5th single from Erotica
The song was released on July 17, 1993 by Maverick Records. It was released as the fifth single internationally, but the fourth single in North America. The song was produced and written by Madonna and Shep Pettibone. Lyrically, the song likens rain to the empowering effect of love, and as with water's ability to clean and wash away physical things, to also wash away pain.

9 years ago today, Madonna scored her 58th Top 10 with Get Together
Get Together was Madge’s 58th Top 10 hit and her third of four Top 10s from Number 1 album Confessions On A Dance Floor. The star wasn't keen on shooting a video for this track, so her performance from the album's promotional tour was given a quick swizz through After Effects and used instead.

On this day (August 3, 1985), 30 years ago, Madonna hit the UK Singles Chart with Into The Groove and she was at #2 with Holiday! Madonna is the only female artist ever to hit the top 2 positions of the UK chart with 2 songs on the same week!
With sales of 871,300 units, Into The Groove is tied with Vogue for her longest stint at Number 1 – four weeks.
Into The Groove also managed to keep Madonna herself off Number 1, with Holiday that sat at #2 right behind Into The Groove at the top of the Official Singles Chart (sales of 709,400 units).
